I called the Canadian embassy in Washington DC this morning. I told them as an American citizen. It saddens me and breaks my heart that we are treating our allies with such disrespect. I do not stand with the United States government and their treatment of our allies. I also called the Mexican embassy and told them the same thing. I didn’t announce Trump in his cabinet and what they’re doing to our economy that we have worked so hard to resurrect again after he was president last time. This is how a leader should speak. He speaks with sincerity and with clarity. He doesnt speak broadly just to an entire audience. He speaks to each group of people that this is concerning to, and making sure we understand the magnitude of this situation. He adjusts how he speak to each group, and also to our sad president. I voted for Trump, but it's hard not to agree with Trudeau on this even though I find this guy to be extremely unpleasant. There's no reason to start trade wars all over the world and in particular with our neighbors. It's one thing to threaten tariffs and a very different thing to actually apply them. If you do it has to be accompanied by a lot of diplomacy so that the other country is not overreacting, but Trump has been super combative prompting our neighbors to respond in kind to save face. While past deals may not have been great for US, this is not the way to handle our differences. Billionaires like Trump and his friends will be fine, but the majority of ordinary folks in the US and Canada will suffer. Very dumb, indeed.

It irritates me that Trump attacks canada for fentanyl and illegal immigration when its the other boarder that is the vast majority supplier. Trump has not given a resoanble or justifiable reason for these tarrifs in my mind. Its a shame as some of Trumps ideas and plans I agree with but so far the vast majority of his action has not been. I have been visiting canada frequently for my outings, if I go oit for dinner or entertainment ive been making a 1 hr drive to do so, vs a 45 minute drive to seattle. Trudeau resigned as prime minister because he was deeply unpopular in Canada. He proceeded to suspend parliament while President Trump threatened these Tariffs and then immediately left to Europe to posture with European leaders. It's becoming way too easy to define an entire group of people as criminals. Their is not one story that uses the word criminal no less than 25 times. I fully understand and agree with why countries deny Indians visas. While I don’t agree with anyone entering the US illegally, those that are saying “fix your own country” is easier said than done, my response to that is “why don’t you fix the things you hate or complain about throughout your life”? As a combat veteran of Iraq and Afghanistan, multiple times, I completely agree with the president’s anti-trans policy in the military. Soldiers have a hard enough job as it is much less stacking on some DEI nonsense. That’s only gonna take time away from their training and ultimately DEI is going to 100% negatively affect the mission and their safety. Of personally over a 10 year period served with a couple gay and lesbian Service members and never once was what they did in the privacy of their own bedroom ever an issue or counter to the mission but this new age woke DEI nonsense is completely counterproductive, dangerous, And disrespectful to the non-DEI service members. The simple act of picking an unqualified, military leader, who’s responsible for the care and lives solely on the gender, ethnicity, religion, or pronoun, and not on merit, experience, competency, or any of the other real requirements for a military leader is literally the most irresponsible, dangerous, and disrespectful thing you can do to the men and women who have literally dedicated their life for years in service of our country! There’s absolutely no excuse on this planet that would make it ok. This is a matter of our military not doing their part in conducting proper mental health sceenings. How can someone with a psychological disorder be allowed to serve? When I was at MEPS, I was denied my request to be an MP because of a low credit score, and yet we have individuals in service that are not mentally fit. I do not wish any of them ill will. But just like most can agree, they wouldn't want a racist cop. We would not want someone who could snap while they are being depended on in a critical situation. This is evident as the left likes to point out the high suicide rate with transgender and homosexual individuals

To be so prejudice is wrong! Qualifying for positions should be based on skills and abilities not bringing genders into mix. Transgenders are part of our everyday lives and are capable of holding positions of importance as long as their preference of sex does not interfere with the job or tasks at hand. I agree that women should not have to compete against transgender women but this is going too far! Everyone has a right to represent their Country if they choose too as long as they are capable and skilled!

While I do not condone what she did I also do not agree that buying housing as an investment should be allowed either. If this country had a surplus of housing then investment could be allowed. However this is not and has not been the case. This is one reason why many Canadians can not afford to purchase housing. Invest in something that does not hurt the economy and those around you. If you invest in housing and loose don't come crying to me. You took the risk, like any other investor and lost. That's the game. Now you want my tax dollar to bail you out.

I am totally agree USA border need to secure to stop illegal immigrants and I support America first agenda but I don't understand how tarrif gonna help American economy.Just Imagine when we put tarrif on trade that means US importer going to pay that or find alternative in short period of time this is going to increase inflation in USA.Once prices up it's very hard to bring it down we already seen in pandemic.We gone through pandemic inflation increase and then Ukraine war increase gas prices and inflation went up and now trade war with biggest trade partners this is going to be another economic damage and this is big one.

I agree that skilled immigration is the right thing to do \n\nStop asylum seekers , take students as they are needed to fuel local economy , however improve the criteria to qualify for a work visa after student \n\nPermanent residency to be only allowed if you are working in a niche job where you don’t find any Canadian is found for that job position.\n\nMy view is to reduce taxes on individuals , incorporations and also eastablish industries and remove unwanted regulations and allow to establish industries \n\nThis will boost employment and also use this opportunity to develop near shore for us based companies to help them find skilled resources in canada \n\nMany thoughts I am not an expert , but I love canada and canada deserve to be a world leader in everything

The problem with the way things have become here is that now people that have immigrated legally to Canada and are citizens are now becoming targets of hate and violence. I agree that once the visa is expired people need to go and honor what they signed for. We are also punishing those people who have done nothing wrong. This is really scary to see in our country. Hold government accountable for what they have done and ourselves accountable for who we elect and how we treat other human beings. We are all humans no matter skin color or where we are born so be kind to each other. Yes they need to follow the rules we have but we also need not be hate filled and violent, that is not what a Canadian is.

I have been able to visit Vietnam, Nigeria(office work) & Bali . Not much compared to others I agree. But the behaviour of Indian Language speaking Tourist in these countries is really really horrible. No matter how much these sold out News Anchor or our leader peddle false narrative that Indians are respected our passport etc etc. Indians are least preferred cause of the attitude issue. Even Nigeria whom we mock cause of look and color are more decent than us. Indian deserve this.

I usually agree with everything you say, in this case it’s sadly illegal immigrants and abuse of visas. Come as a tourist or hidden in a truck, work as a take away driver. \n\nMany Indians say dual citizenship leads to dual loyalty, if U.K. or USA open up their country to India. Except the 5% of the rich 95% will emigrate for economic reasons.\n\nOnly solution is for India to grow exponentially with our per capita income rivalling that of the west.

Romanian here, with 8 years in Germany, still debating if a citizenship is worth the effort though I use German both at my work place and for regular tasks. \nMy opinion is that Germany has a chaotic approach to absorbing skilled workers. \nI agree completely with the statement that this approach led it to absorb, far more easily, unskilled and, a lot of times, problematic immigrants rather than skilled professionals. I see this happening in communities and online groups. This also contributes to social and political backlash. \nCombining economy issues, social backlash, decreasing purchasing power and pressure on housing, Germany is becoming less attractive by the hour for skilled workers.

But the proper process must be followed.\n\nI agree that the Canadian government has made mistakes. However, international students also took advantage of the system, which I can understand. The government should never have allowed international students to obtain work permits so easily. They should have been required to complete their studies, secure a job offer, and only then apply for a work permit. This would be the point at which their PR process could begin.\n\nWhat the government did instead was detrimental to Canadians. By allowing international students to get work permits immediately, bring their spouses, and provide work permits to them as well, they created challenges. Students should focus on studying first, graduating, and then finding a job—just as it used to be.\n\nThe government should create regulations requiring all publicly funded colleges and universities to cap the fees charged to international students. These institutions should only be allowed to charge a maximum of 15% to 25% above the fees for local students. Charging exorbitant amounts was essentially a form of robbery, exploiting international students with the false hope of permanent residency (PR), which is never guaranteed.
