I'm planning to leave to . Mainly rent costs, and food is crazy high.

I always wanted to move to Canada but there are mainly two things that are stopping from doing that:\n\n1 bad healthcare\n2 housing unaffordability\n\nI do work as a nurse in the UK and I would be able to find a job in Canada as well very easily but looking at the number of vacancies just in British Columbia I'm scared because it means the shortage of nurses in that Province is unbelievably high\nThe risk of burnout is really really high\n\nAbout the cost of living, it's everywhere in the world: in the UK life has become very expensive and housing is unaffordable for many people

Been dying to leave this place for 15 years now.. but unlike Canada, it's quite hard to actually get a work permit and stay in the countries I've attempted to live in.. meanwhile I've watched as people just flock to Canada on student visas and end up staying here. I'm not 'anti immigration' but it definitely needs to be a two way street between countries.. If I could get a work visa to a few different places, mainly Japan, I'd pack up and leave tomorrow.. Canada just isn't it for me and hasn't been for a long time..

I'm amazed by how many immigrants are surprised at the cost of living in Canada. Don't they do research before moving here? Before i would move anywhere, I would research rent / food costs etc. The other stuff like making friends is harder to research...I am Canadian that has lived in a few other countries and I'm planning to leave at some point, mainly due to cost of living. I will take Greece, Italy, Spain, SE Asia or a few South American countries any day over Canada. Shame as Canada used to be such a good place to live.

I'm Canadian born and raised.The main problem is too many people are left leaning so we have the same problems as California,to much bureaucracy,high taxes,crime,homelessness,drugs etc that's all a biproduct of liberalism.High taxes are needed to fund left wing policies like the climate scam,giving billions to ukraine,womens groups,gay groups etc the useless bureaucrats have to justify their position so millions of unnecessary and pointless policies are imposed.I'm a welder and the bs you have to go through is so extream many just give up and do something else.As for immigrants it effects them too so we have doctors driving cabs or nurses working at mcdonalds etc these problems really started to be an issue when Canada got progressive in the mid 90s and never recovered.I heard 50k of born and raised Canadians have been leaving every year for the last 3 years with no end in sight.My countrymen need to wake up and dump left wing thinking and bring back the conservatism from the past that built this country or there won't be a Canada.

Main difference between Singapore and Canada is the latter has been trying to suppress wages of the working class effectively turning the working class into the working poor. \n\nThis, based on idiotic economic theories coming from central bank economists who think profiting private banks which produce nothing and creating a slave labor force in perpetual debt is good for the economy.\n\nIn Singapore, the govt has done the opposite. i.e. enabled purchasing power of the average citizen to rise along with standards of living. Its created the belief that hard work, innovation and enterprise on the part of the individual actually leads to personal success. \n\nThat dream has faded away in Canada and the young people see a bleak future. Its sad to even have to write this.\n\nWhen central bankers, govt..etc. step in to steal the productive output of the working class, it destroys Capitalism and suplants it with Crony Capitalism. FIRE (Financial, Insurance, Real Estate) speculation prospers while the working class producing real goods and services is financially destroyed.\n\nThe real estate prices are deliberately kept high by artificially restricting supply of housing through all kinds of bureaucratic means. Its main objective is to keep people in debt and working to pay off mortgage debt. A fall in housing prices would undo a lot of the leveraged bets that depend on housing prices staying high -- as happened in 2008 in the US. Main losers of that are banks.\n\nYou can then understand why Canada keeps pushing for more and more immigrants. All pyramid schemes (in this case a debt pyramid scheme) has to expand their base or collapse. It also serves the purpose of wage suppression of the working class so they remain in debt.\n\n\nI don't understand why you came from a prosperous country like Singapore to a lower standard of living in Canada. What did you hope to achieve here that you could not have achieved in Singapore.\n\nUnfortunately, people come to see Canada as a stepping stone to going some place else. \nBut in truth, I'm not sure whether other places are any better.\n\nOne great strength of Canada which Singapore does not have is the vast natural resource base of the country. \nIt remains the one shining star the country can fall back on despite incompetent economists and govt.

I want to move out of the US for the same reason. Mainly the government stand on the genocide. Soon as I’m able to I’m out. I don’t have a family yet but Insha’Allah I’ll be able to have that in another country. May Allah bless this couple and their family.

They show a lot of grocery stores when they talk about monopolies, but it’s in everything. When I was getting my internet set up I found out only one of the two main companies in Canada is provided for my area (they do this on purpose). So I pay over $100 a month just for internet. And literally have no other cheaper option other than living with no internet. (I’m in a small town so there aren’t even any cafes or anything to pop into). And live alone. Another thing, we’ve got a big country, and I live in a rural community, so most of my colleagues drive at least 45 minutes to get to work, one way, because they’d rather live in the city. And this is NB so you can’t take public transportation like trains to get here, you’re driving on the highway to get here. Since the pandemic houses have more than doubled, I did get a raise, but it was I think 4% over the last three years. So cost of living is definitely increasing at a much higher rate. Before the pandemic I could buy a week of groceries for one person for $60, now it’s more than $100 for a week easily, and that’s with looking for bargains and reducing the amount of meat and fresh produce I eat. It can’t keep getting worse, because people already can’t afford it, so something is going to have to change before everything breaks completely.

I'm not anti-immigration at all. But huge indian diaspora in canada. You know which countries faced problems have with indians. That's the main reason why i leave canada

I come from a very civilized country with a lot of education and history but awful economy. ?? I am myself educated but my country’s main salary is 700€/month and a descent one bedroom apt is the same price. There are no jobs no future if u don’t come from a rich fam. I am taking the brave decision to leave my country and loved ones and immigrate to Toronto. I Google ‘moving to Toronto’ and I only see videos that are pointing how awful is to leave in Toronto. I always wondered why I had to be here when the snow tilted between 45 and 60 degrees in winter and hit my face at 30-40 km/h.\nquality of food, transportation, service from employees, speed of processing time, etc there were many things that made me really unsatisfied being living in Toronto.\nsame, at the first time I came Toronto, everything looks great. but not anymore \nI'm korean and I feel really unsafe when I go and live abroad. Korea, Japan, Singapore mainly all Asian countries are top 5 in safety all over the world I think. \nAsia especially Korean and Japan have great service, quality of food with reasonable price. I think I don't need to move foreign country. \nmy background is in South Korea but I can say living in Toronto Canada was horrible and harsh for Korean. Because of multiple reasons but the harsh weather is the biggest for me. Feels like winter in Toronto is 7~8 months long if I compare it to winter in Korea. Fall and Spring?? No, they don't have fall and spring and it's all winter. they have snow in early September late April or May. It was horribly hard because the cold air from the arctic and really powerful wind came all together. even though the weather and temperature look a little bit off from Korea, Canada has a much more harsh location with weather. not only harsh weather but they do provide really embarrassing experience such as expensive payment for everything, a lot of factors disturb me from leaking money. I don't think Canada is a good country. my view of this country totally has been changed 3 years ago.

I'm glad I was born in Canada compared to other countries throughout the world. The social safety net, the healthcare system and way less gun violence than the U.S. are my main reasons for wanting to stay in Canada.

Nice candid video Tyler. I have a good friend (a Jusey Gurl) who moved to Canada like 20ish years ago I think mainly because of an ex. I think she appreciates the health care as well with my talks with her over the years. She and I've been thinking this lately that Canadians have either changed or that Canadians are more friendly stereotype is going down .I think with more immigration, the cost of living and frozen pay and higher and higher taxes Canadians are increasing discouraged with politics and Canada in general. You noticed many of the woman mentioning health care and social programs as well? Police... We have a lot here as well maybe more so because of pay. The police are well looked after and paid well here. I think politics are getting more polar and more divisive here as well. The liberals have really really done a stellar job with two terms of sheer WEF CCP hogwash to destroy the country. Another general stereotype is that Americans are obnoxious and unpleasant isn't true as well. I'm in tourism and find most of the Yanks to be friendly and polite and GREAT TIPPERS. Ha many US servers don't like it when Canucks go over there because they're stingy. I think if everything works out without saying more, your country, like it or not , will ultimately start the big liberation finally of humanity hopefully for the better. You folks generally have a bigger love of freedom and you're ARMED. You have the mindset and the LEVERAGE to change the system. And we as Canadians are always looking and following the US why to the extent because things are a little different here I don't know... I await with hopeful yet bated breath with the big changes coming in the following years. Love, freedom and the pursuit of happiness good neighbors eh!

I’m proud of my country. Not all of it but most of it. Im not going to divulge all of my opinions of course, but I would say we have a very big disconnect across the country believe it or not and I don’t think most people who live here even know that. I’ve always wanted to visit Maine though.

I'm surprised there weren't more comments about racism. I haven't been south in years, but racism was so prevalent it was one of the main things I remember about going there. There was a beach in Milwaukee where the white people used the sandy area and the black people used the rocky area. There were no signs saying who belonged where, but it was obvious all the local people knew the score. Racism exists in Canada, especially with the first nations people, but it doesn't dominate your experience as a visitor the way it did for me in the US.

Hello brothers and sisters I’m seeing a problem here. The interest rate in the late 1970s and early 1980s interest rate was 12-18%. People\nComing now are in MUCH better financial condition then people who came then with nothing. The difference is two main things: many new immigrants don’t have the same drive and motivation that previous immigrants in terms of sacrifices such as not driving a mustang, but they also didn’t just settle for labour jobs, they used their brains and began business along side labour. Second thing is, the immigrant wants to see the result before putting in the work. If after getting out of the horrible conditions of India and coming to Canada, a country loaded with opportunities, you still have difficulties then you need to change your expectations and work ethic to match, if they don’t then don’t complain. Cost of living is not the issue, it is the false expectation that they give themselves. To be quite honest with you it takes most immigrants one generation not 5-10 years, so either start working smarter or wait to have this reflection of what Canada is like until you have lived here for 50 years.

You would find that in most developped countries in the world that issue is one of the main reason why USA is not the dreamed country it used to be. Hi Tyler. I think that when you say you've lived mainly in small towns and that most people are pleasant may stem from the fact that you're a white male. Many if not most small towns in America suffer from a lack of cultural diversity. It's easy for them to be kind and pleasant when they hardly ever get confronted by anyone outside their cultural norms. How accepting would they be if a bunch of families from other cultures would start moving into their little piece of paradise? Would they remain as pleasant and friendly? That's where the real test would be. Mind you, I'm not sure it would be so different here in Canada if you look at more remote villages.

No, I wouldn’t. I just moved from Vancouver to London, uk. Lots of people asked why I didn’t move to New York. Main reason is health care. I’m a self employed hairstylist and no one is providing health care for me. Second is gun violence in general, mass shootings are a big issue, just because it hasn’t happened in your small city, doesn’t mean it won’t. Mass shootings are just the most extreme version of gun violence. I don’t want the people walking down the street next to me to possibly be carrying a gun on them. That is truly terrifying to me. Third is that politics are so extreme and so prevalent. Lastly the fact that women’s rights are being taken away. I absolutely cannot support a country with very little benefits and aid for those who cannot afford to have a child, that then makes them have a child. That’s the briefest way I can explain my feelings, I could go on and on, but I’ll leave it at that. \n\nThe only benefit I see in moving to the us from Canada is for certain opportunities, and those come in big cities, so there’s absolutely no point in moving to then live in a small city. \n\nI appreciate that you’re being introspective as you go through the video. Unfortunately gun violence is a massive one for many Canadians, even when they travel to the us. Now that I’m in London, I hear a lot of the same sentiments being mirrored by the Brits. No one wants to lose their health and safety just to move to the us. I'm British, now retired and living in Spain for 20 years. Have noticed that in the last 10 years there are an awful lot of Americans who are moving here mainly because, although they still have to have private health, it's hugely cheaper here and the service is good; also the lifestyle is more laid back and they can visit a lot of different cultures. In the late 1960s my husband and I emigrated to Toronto, Canada. Visited the US a couple of times. First to NY city, second time down to Kentucky /Tennessee. My parents came on that trip with us. Met Americans at the motels we stayed in and a couple of times my father nearly lost it (don't know how he just kept quiet) as Americans his age were quite abusive and kept on about about how we'd never be able to repay America for their help in WW2 (my father fought in that for all 6 years). Anyway left Canada after 4 years and returned to England; not because we didn't like it but I was terribly homesick. None of the Canadians we're still in touch with would ever have moved to the US.

I checked out of curiosity and there are only 6 states that have NOT had a mass shooting in 2023. There have been 383 mass. shooting. Maine, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, North and South Dakota. It's a big enough issue that there is an interactive map showing mass shooting. \n\nThat is enough of a reason to not move there. Plus you have Trump and I'd like to not even be on the same continent as that guy. Unfortunately, I'm stuck in north america. Maybe we should build a wall ? just kidding.

I'm actually planning to move to the US in a couple years. Main reason is to escape the weather. Also, the mac&cheese in the US is 100 times better.... can't really find any other advantages.\nI haven't picked a city yet but I'm leaning towards Nashville or a town close by in Tenessee; not too hot in summer, no snow almost ever, Nashville has an NHL team, the people in Nashville are great and the roads aren't falling appart.\n\nI'll just need to find a way to Iimport Poutine and i'll be golden.

Lack of affordable housing -- lack of housing in general -- is the main reason people already living here are being priced out and why so many refugees and immigrants cannot afford the cost when they move here. When these people come to Canada for a better life and/or to escape the suffering that they were living in, they cannot bring their homes with them. It is the government's responsibility at all levels to ensure that these newcomers have a place to go when they come here. A homeless shelter should not be the answer. Buy up office spaces and convert them (if safe to do so with whatever codes need to be met) into affordable housing units. For years we've been seeing hundreds of news articles about vacancies in office buildings being at all time highs, yet only a handful of them are being converted. 500,000 people a year entering a country where there isn't enough housing for them (let alone the people living here already) is irresponsible on the government's part. If this is your pledge, at least give these people a better life and not send them to shelters or onto the streets as soon as they arrive. If Canada is to truly be a safe haven for immigrants and refugees escaping their hardships, it's paramount that the government does what it can to make these people actually feel like their life will change for the better. I'm all for immigration since it helps the economy and knowing that Canada can put people in a better position for themselves and their families, but it's the lack of preparation from the governments that makes me question their pledge in this way.

I’m shocked this is even being mentioned …. There are people regularly jumping the fence and running across freeways …. It’s almost a daily news update here in El Paso the latest police chase that happens everyday… cars drive into a house flip over in a ditch or off a mountain always smugglers fleeing here. But the more people know the more they realize so can’t let them know….. our freeways have signs that say watch for pedestrians just normal life here now theses signs in middle of main freeways??‍♂️

none of this applies to toronto. The water is the worst... all i taste... actually i can smell the chlorine before i even get the glass to my lips. Hate it. But now i'm spoiled with maine spring water... from actual springs from the ground. ?It's amazing and everyone should have access to clean, delicious and healthy water.

I'm American and I've been to Canada 2 times. But when I went to Montreal for my 18th birthday, I fell in love with the city and I remember saying that I wanted to move there in the future. I've been studying French just for that because I know that's the language mainly spoken there. I plan on visiting Toronto again this spring or summer so I'm excited. ok I live in Canada in Quebec to be precise, I'm from Latin America originally but became a Canadian Citizen a few years ago. I'm not white, I can tell you that the examples that you chose to demonstrate silent or systemic racism are fallacies, that doesn't mean that there is no racism, there is racism in every country in the World. But to point out that because the leadership of mayor companies are mainly 'White', it's not prove of systemic racism, you didn't say anything for example of median age of the different populations, that is an important factor in economic advancement of a population and helps to explain why some groups may be more prevalent in higher paid jobs than others. For example, according to Statistics Canada and the latest census you can see that the black population is around 2% of the total population of the Country, but more over a huge chuck of that population is not only young, but recent immigrants from the last 30 years or so. Maybe you should read some Thomas Sowell to have a more broad perspective instead of 'denouncing' racism gratuitously

And a very vibrant outside life. However, when I don’t want to be bothered. I have a house ? I would be honest with you most of people who leave Canada can have a good life in their home countries (mainly people who say this are from Europe or advanced country in Asia ), well if in your home country you can't make a life at all then what's the point of going back and what I'm taling about here is mainly African countries where everything is expensive and scarce, us living in third country we can even make enough money for a cost of flight alone in a one year of work, wages here can come to be 50$ USD a month that's if your lucky (and not even to say that you will spend most of them on food and health care)

It's just that it's better in everything that counts for ME!!!\n- It's the CHEAPEST place to rent or own but has great wages and a high minimum. \n- Most of our cities are in the St-Lawrence valley. That means we have a LOT of local produce in-season. \n- We have a diversified economy. Less manufacturing and heavy stuff than Ontario, but LOTS of high-tech and knowledge-based jobs. With a HUGE service industry, bloated by the constant influx of tourists.\n- It's got the BEST quality of social life in the country. It's an all-year party and club season. \n- It's got FOUR real and distinct seasons.\n- It's almost as beautiful outside as BC. Until autumn and the colors, then it's better for a few weeks.\n- It's got the BEST social net in the country. \n- It's got the most beautiful women too. No question whatsoever about that one.\nAnd it's the SAFEST... That and being cheap to live in are the two main points. I'm bilingual, so I don't care about the French-only oddities, they are few and far between. It's 2021, not 1980. The Internet and Cable tv from the US changed EVERYTHING. ALL of the kids and young adults will answer you in English if you aren't acting like a jerk. So will almost anyone under 60.
