I have ethnic background from Hong Kong and have been living in Canada for almost 40 years. I love Canada and am proud of this beautiful country. However, I think part of the immigration problem we have is the ongoing issue of allowing dual citizenship of everyone who have become a Canadian citizen. I have personally known lots of HK immigrants who would return to their own countries to work as soon as they have got their Canadian passports. Normally one of the parents would stay with their children here for free schooling, medical care and child tax benefits. Their children will follow their parents to go back to HK after they graduated from universities in order to avoid the higher income tax . Unfortunately, those parents will come back to retire in Canada so that they can get free health care benefits and OAS once they have fulfilled the residency requirement of 10 years. Canada do need more skilled and educated immigrants to make our country more prosperous but not those who try to take advantage of our lenient immigration policies. I think we should take back the passports of those who have left Canada for more than 2 years or those who have evaded taxes so that we do not continue to support those never contributed to our country. PS, I mentioned about HK only because of my origin and I believe the same problem would be caused by immigrants from other countries too.

If you make over $220 Cdn, expect 50% tax if in Ontario. Then you have high property tax, high sales tax, tax tax to pay for a crumbling health care system and education system. If you need social support, come to Canada! The others will support you through our taxes! lol socialism sucks

Try and be a good person.....period.\nCanada is a huge country with many variables in taxes, climate and culture. In southern Ontario I shovel the driveway about 4 times a winter. Winter is mild now compared to the 60's. \nI try and aviod processed foods that are taxed as opposed to most groceries that are not taxed. \nHealth Care has gone downhill in the last 25 years. \nBut, no one goes broke paying hospital bills. Fortunately health care where I live is very good. No wate times or problems. But, it would be great if nurses and doctors came to Canada!!!

I lived in New Hampshire in the Mountains and in Vermont for 8 months for Medical reasons. When I got back to Ottawa Ontario Canada they sent me a Health Care bill that was quite high but my Social Assistance Worker paid Thousands of dollars for my use of your Medical Services otherwise I would have had to pay 30,000 dollars that I couldn't afford. Your cigarettes were cheap as I smoked Marlboro smokes which reminded me of cigars ? in the form of cigarettes.

Canada was taken hostage in 2015 when this evil and corrupt regime was voted in by the potheads. China ensured that they stayed in power ever since. Their insane taxes and woke agenda have destroyed the economy and the country. In under 10 years they destroyed a beautiful vibrant country and made it unaffordable to live in, destroyed health care, destroyed housing and flooded the country with too many criminals and leeches. They destroyed Alberta's oil and drove investment to other countries including China and Russia.

Only 1 in 5? Canadians wish it was 4 in 5 leaving. The flood of immigration into Canada over the past 3 years is a nightmare for Canadians. It has resulted in disastrous housing shortage and higher cost of living, not to mention increases in ethnic & religious conflicts, extortion rackets and organized crime gangs that originated from abroad. Deport them. STOP all immigration NOW, and resume only when Canada has caught up with housing and access to health care, and a solid vetting system for immigration applicants.

As first generation American all this endless whining is getting old. When my family came here, they all had to have a health certificate and a sponsor that guaranteed they would have employment and housing waiting for them when they got here. If not, they weren’t going to be allowed on the boat to start with. No free housing, health care, food or education. \n \n\n So what part of ILLEGAL ALIEN isn’t being understood. This kind of nonsense isn’t allowed in virtually any other country on the planet. Try to cross into Mexico or Canada illegally and see where you end up. The argument is Americans don’t want to do the jobs that the illegals do yet back in the day Americans did do these jobs. The problem is too many Americans today think jobs that require physical labor are beneath them and too many are getting paid way too much for what the job they’re doing entails. Sorry but flipping burgers and asking if you want fries with that IS NOT a job worth $15 or $20 bucks an hour.

STEM is already out of 2025-27 plan. There will be no tech draw. Though, its only general draws , nevertheless general draws are no consistent , check at canada.ca . The 2025 priority categories include: health care occupations, trade occupations, and French-language proficiency. Categories are established each year, informed by labour market information and projections as well as input received from partners, including provinces and territories, and stakeholders across the country. IT is already a saturated market in canada. Someone needs good experience both in foreign and Canadian market.

This is an everyday reality: even the comments under this video prove that racism is being normalized. Being a non white immigrant in Canada for decades - I have not seen white Canadians so openly racist. Yes they were gaslighting minorities before but only in the last couple of years I faced racism so open and brutal . Let me tell you something grandma : when you end up in residential care because your kids put you there , it’s that Philippina nurse that will take care of you, your healthcare will be supported by the paychecks of those Indian people because your generation did not produce enough people to sustain your rapidly growing aging cohort. I am sorry that towards the end of your life you hold so much hatred in your heart - it can’t be good for your health or your final judgement day. Ironic, but your grandkids could merry one of us non-white people and your great grand kids could have an accent or brown skin colour. I am saddened by all what I am witnessing. But hopeful that humanity will prevail.

Stop all immigration until Canada can catch up with health care, housing and employment. Once Canada reaches that goal then allow immigration based on those issues. With this minor reduction Canada will never catch up with housing, health care and jobs. Immigrants all living in housing shelters while Canadians are in encampments. The damage is already done, and if you live in Vancouver you know what I mean. Before it was just restricted to neighborhoods. Now entire cities/municipalities are overrrun with ethnic minorities becoming enclaves, where you don't even feel like you're in Canada anymore. In particular, the amount of Chinese and Punjabi's the Trudeau government has let in is astounding. Nobody speaks English anymore. Its insane! They've completely taken over. This has effected housing costs and availability. There is now a job shortage, a health care crisis and vehicle traffic that doesn't let up until after 8pm. Only thing left to do at this point is cancel all study and work permits and if you don't have your PR card, then you leave!

I do believe in immigration. Canada was built on immigrants and they are a huge part of Canadas identity. THat being said we need to have proper housing and infrastructure for the people we take in. To bring people into the country when we don't have jobs, housing, and overload the health care and other facilities is just bad decision making. I am against closing the doors forever but when we have room for more then we take more until that time we will have to reduce or shutdown the immigration flow.

Parents come to Canada to provide free babysitting and cooking services to grandchildren . If they feel lonely it’s because they are not here to make friends but to stay at home . I one case , a grandparent fell ill in Canada and was sent back to India because of inadequate health insurance to take care of himself there on his own while the grandmother was not allowed to go and continued to babysit . These grandparents often are subjected to huge indignities. Lot of comments on how India is so good and Canada so bad . That is so ridiculous. I do not see people immigrating from Canada to India . I do not understand the tale about not getting fresh vegetables . Just step into Loblaws , Zehr , Metro and see what a lie it is . I agree many ethnic stores stock stale vegetables kept in unhealthy conditions . If food doesn’t taste good it’s became no one in the household , neither the grandparents nor the parents , can cook. That is because in India much of cooking is done by servants .

A Ukrainian immigrant here. Absolutely in love with beautiful canadian nature, cute little houses, especially townhouses in toronto, just so wholesome. As for life, you gotta be some sort of specialist like a doctor, or a proper construction worker, or a truck driver to have a decent life that goes beyond just getting by and eking out an existence. On my own i can make enough money for food and rent, but thats about it, and im happy about it, really, i get to be alive thanks to canada, but i really hope i could move out of here as soon as it becomes safe, or just move to a cheaper country thats a decent distance away from russia. I ended up being unemployed and i do feel like im in quite a real danger on eventually becoming homeless if i dont manage to procure a job, and you know how the job market is now. As for health care, i simply dont have access to it, at least i dont have a family doctor and have been trying for a while to get one. I haven't tried walking ins yet since i prioritize food over health now but i might someday. I just hope that whatever sickness bugs me is minor, i cant do anything about it. My teeth hurt too, but i cant afford a dentist, and ive found one Clinique in toronto that helps immigrants fix their teeth for cheap, they can help you with three teeth in total, and i've used up one of it, and saving the rest for real emergencies. I cant eat anything except for real soft food, and i know im not gonna get any help i could afford any time soon.\nOnce i get a job i will be saving as much money as i can to leave Canada, i don't know where yet but i'm doing my research and hopefully will find a place, and if not well, sucks to suck. It's hard for everybody out there, i'm just one of the millions if not billions who go through that.\n\nAlso I don’t think ‘nobody wants to live in Canada’ is entirely accurate. It seems that the idea of canada, and the way its marketed, attracts a lot of new immigrants, and a lot of people would love a chance to live in Canada. It's simply not true. But after the fact , once they have , i could believe that some are not willing to stay and might regret the decision of moving in the first place.

Trudeau says we need more people in health care, but we aren't bringing in the right people to fill those gaps. We are bringing in uneducated people to fill fast food jobs. That's not going to make Canada a strong economically stable country. Instead of pandering to the businesses that want to stay open 7 days a week and need these low level employees, it would be preferable to return to a system where everything isn't open 24/7 requiring all of these low level positions ti be filled.

I am a born and raised Canadian and have seen my country go downhill for at least the last couple of decades.\nHealth Care: doctors and nurses are moving Stateside in droves. No, the US doesn’t have universal health care but there are insurance plans and the care is enormously better. My girlfriend had 4th stage throat cancer. In Calgary the doctors at some point told her there was nothing more they could do for her and to get her affairs in order. Her father sent her to the Anderson Clinic in Houston - yes it was expensive but they treated her, saved her life and that was 24 years ago. \nIt’s common in our emergency rooms to wait up to 12 hours to be seen. \nOur system isn’t progressive and doctors and nurses don’t get paid near as well as in the States. That being said, I am happy that I don’t have to pay to see the doctor or have a stay in the hospital. \nCost of Living: Once upon a time it was good - housing was cheap and many companies had the full range of benefits and salaries were equal to the cost of living. Now these same companies have stripped the benefits by hiring people under contract so they don’t have to give them benefits. \nRents are through the roof and in Calgary there are no rent caps. Buying a decent house in a decent neighbourhood is impossible unless you inherit or make a six figure income. This, in no small part, has created a homelessness crisis that never had been seen in such numbers before. Crime also is getting worse by the day. Canada was once known as a safe country. This is no longer the case.\nEverything is very expensive and the tax very high. Plus, we have to suffer winter! Where I live, the joke is that we have two seasons - July and winter!\nI still like my city (not love) but I am retired and own two houses - one inherited and the other bought when it was affordable (32 years ago). Calgary would not be a place I would live if I was a newcomer. Vancouver is beautiful but you really pay for it. \nTrudeau has helped make a big mess of things with immigration and lax criminal laws. My beef is not with immigrants I must state - it is with the lack of jobs for them when they come, thereby forcing bad living conditions and an over reliance on the social systems. I add that the immigration population is much more willing to work in jobs they have to take (despite a high education) than our natural and bloated citizens.\nSo yes, Canada has increasingly gone downhill. On a positive note, hand guns at least are not legal and our country has beautiful natural land.

Our health care system has major problems in canada but i had to pay 0$ to have my child...i pay 0$ to see a doctor...i paid 0$ when i went to the hospital for massive abdomen pain...i paid 0$ to get stitches and a cast and paid 0$ to have them taken out...i didnt have to go through a 3rd party insurance where they might only cover a portion or find ways to not pay...ill take my healthcare over american any day unless im extremely rich

Grass is always greener on the other side. US has more violent crime, school shootings, homeless, drugs, and inaccessible health care. US foreign policy and economic strength make it both a leader and a target in all kinds of conflicts, which damages the security and future outlook for an average person. Not to mention the clowns and criminals ruling the federal government and running for president.. European countries have their own issues, Asian countries their own (they have greater economic inequality and sexism, among other issues).\n\nI still consider Canada one of the best places to live. I have a good job and a good life here, I feel secure. Yes, there are things I don't like as well, that's why I earn in Canada and travel extensively to get the best of all countries.\n\nAnd finally, the reason real estate is so expensive in Canada is because of how many people want to live here. It's obvious – if Canada stopped being one of the top immigration destinations, real estate would stop growing in value so much.

Looks like china is afraid of brain drain. They created this video to tarnish Canada reputation to discourage us from moving to Canada. My Hong Kong friends migrated to Canada all said living in Canada is so much better as long as you don’t live in the ethnic slums. They could easily got a job and enjoy the public health care system. And we can rely on the government for our retirement.

This spillover into the U.S was inevitable, after prime minister boy wonder decided it was good idea to open the flood gates to anyone from anywhere by the hordes...mostly from South and East Asia. The social fabric in Canada has deteriorated rapidly ever since. I am a stranger in my own city. Once friendly, cohesive neighborhoods have now turned into ethnic enclaves. Nobody speaks English anymore. Average paying jobs are becoming more scarce, higher paying jobs more competitive. There's a housing shortage and rent has sky rocketed ($2000+ per month for 1-bedroom apt). We're now in the midst of a health care crisis where emergency wait rooms are filled to capacity with 5-8 hour wait times and a shortage of family gp's accepting new patients, and lastly traffic has become so unbearable, where it's bumper to bumper all day now and into the evening. Yep, in 9 years the Trudeau government and the Liberals have single handedly made Canada unliveable

Fact: health care is a provincial responsibility. Fact: homelessness and housing is a municipal responsibility. Fact: any indexes measuring quality of life put Canada in the top 10-15 out of 190+ countries! Fact: Canadians live better than 99% of any human that has ever lived. Fact: we still live better than more than half the humans on this planet. Fact: Canadians are fat, in huge amounts of consumer debt and have become brainwashed. Trudeau isn’t the problem. Why? Because the new guy isn’t the answer. Fact: if your life sucks…look in the mirror for answers.

Public services and social benefits doesn't come free.\nYou don't have to pay for your garbage to be picked up by a private contractor, or pay a monthly fee, for an ambulance or fire services, like in the U.S. Even criminals are send to subsidies Indigenous healing centers instead of private jails for profit, like in the U.S.A. \nAmerica is not a country, it's a business. Anyone who thinks that this is the correct model for a country doesn't know better and should look at some of the leading countries in Europe.\nCanada is one of the best countries to live in the world and if it wasn't for the Corona virus outbreak, we wouldn't have the economic hardship we are facing today.\nLike any other country, we have our challenges and there's always room to improve.\nPollierve cheap propaganda is not the answer. If they want to settle in Canada, they should apply through immigration system not through sneaky ways and try to bully local people including every person from around the world, that came here through PR immigration programs. \n\nCanada is a beautiful peaceful country and we love it. \nPlease don’t wreck it. \nWe know you all have spent a lot back home, to sneak in here , but we all taxpayers have our own people to take care of. \n\nWe the Canadians need jobs and housing and health care too , that is too much stretched because of you people.

56 years in Canada, live on the west coast the best part of Canada. I would move to the USA in a heartbeat. It is a better nation, more prosperous and affordable. I live in Arizona in winter, love it a LOT. It is generally friendlier when I am in the US than in west coast Canada which is more reserved with less sense of humour (but Ontario and east coast have legendary senses of humour). Health care is scary bad in Canada, a much better value in the US even though it costs more.

Already so many are there. Canada has taken in 2.5% of its population as immigrant in 2022. 1 million for a country with only 40 million. It us simply unsustainable from jobs, housing to health care etc. Canadians heve to suffer as a result of too much immigrants.

I don't get this narrative of people coming Canada make a better life for themselves. It may be true for couple years back pre-Justin Turd but most Canadians are struggling with high cost of living, not able to have a roof over their head, failed health care, exorbitant tax, zero freedom of speech, terrorist and protestors everywhere. I don't see any sane person willing to come to Canada. The only people who are coming to Canada are to illegally cross in to US. No one wants to live in Justin Turd Canadistan shitland.

The problem is simple. If its an issue of cost of living, while its true that it is very high, its very high across the industrialized world. That is because the causes influencing cost of living are not related to inside Canada but are being influenced by foreign actors which Canada has no control over. The Ukraine-Russia War for example is causing increases to food costs which are not easily overcome. The situation in the Middle East between Hamas and Israel threatens to spiral into a regional war and that threatens the oil supply and the present price for oil and gas. The Houthi have been making it hard to traverse the Red Sea which is forcing shipping to travel around Africa rather than directly through the Suez Canal to the Mediterranean Sea meaning those additional fuel costs get transferred over to the consumer. As for housing, while efforts to cool housing markets have been made, Canada's housing market is still relatively hot meaning the prices remain high in big cities. Its like a perfect storm. Increased costs on mortgages are an attempt to push down inflation but in the short term you are going to feel that as well. Also we are living in a transition period as the world sinks back to the older model of trade before before Bretton Woods in 1947 which is leading to a decoupling of product lines that at one time coming from Asia were cheap but are not more expensive because they are being made back in the home countries. Transitions do come with a price. Finally, add taxes which help to deal with health care, social programs and government services like embassies, foreign missions and the army well yeah its a perfect storm.\n\nI hope you have luck where you end up but do not for a minute assume that the grass is greener on the other side. Even Japan which attempts to keep certain costs low, has been forced to increase its national consumption taxes to offset overall costs. It isn't going to get cheaper but more expensive as we move back to the old trade model. However, as the world weans itself off of the World Trade Organization and the IMF, the world also re-opens the potential to a Great Depression because that was the reason Bretton Woods appeared in the first place. The world isn't going to get better but far worse.

Things must be done in the right and proper way thousands of illegal immigrants just come to USA walk over the border come in Canada and get free houses, Some don't come to work they hear Canada give free houses,Money and health care,they get thousands of dollars yearly.Thousands come as international students says they come to go to school and flocking Food Banks which a lot now have to close.Hundreds of Canadian work very hard and loose their jobs in COV19 and can't get no help and living under trees and these people come never work here get free houses, medical and money while hard working seniors are suffering.The system is too open and slack.Canada is too open it is the only country that takes in what other countries refuse the boarders need to be struck like U S A. Canada boarders is too weak and open and free .

I am in the country in rural Northern Ontario and I must say life is still grand! I do avoid the major cities as they are too busy, too much traffic, and yes too much homelessness! This is due to ALL POLITICAL PARTIES NOT INVESTING IN GOOD CHEAP HOUSING! Yes, it is a problem with ALL the political parties, NONE have addressed it, from even before Harper to Trudeau today! This needs to be addressed! \nBut our life in rural Canada is still very good. I do not complain about paying high taxes if I know that my money aids others with health care and social programs! We are still far FAR better than Russia for example!! \nPeace n Love

I am living in Canada right now and I agree with all the points mentioned however,\n1. As a lady I feel safe, no one judge me for my clothes, no one stare me disgustingly and no one consider I am his private property to assault.\n2. I feel safe when my kid goes outside to play. People here follows laws strictly. Vehicle stops even at signal allows them to proceed, always I repeat always driver signals me to proceed.\n3. I feel happy that my husband is valued in his office and much appreciated. His seniors credit him for his hard work and everyone here encourage us to have proper work life balance.\n4 I agree we pay high tax but atleast we are getting benefits in return. Public libraries, transport system are top notches. \n5. Banking, health care, all government facilities are very systematic. We were not even aware we have completed 18 months in Canada and we received letter from government stating very soon my son's child benefit will start. We didn't even enquired about it. They processed it automatically as per our arrival date.\n6. And lastly, we celebrated Independence Day here in Calgary, it was great event and all officers were protecting us. I clearly remember while dancing , huge Indian flag dropped down by a toddler and one Chinese officer,he picked it up and gave it to nearby adult.\n\nLife is valued, humans are respected,laws are followed here so I don't regret my decision of migrating but yes, honestly I do miss India as well and I am proud I am an Indian.

I am a third generation Canadian and i have been a successful investor and am a millionaire. Things are pretty great in Canada if you have money. I suppose leaving for a tax free haven is something to consider but people would be surprised how tolerable things in Canada are when you have money. For example, if the weather is too cold then go live in the Caribbean for a few months. If health care is a problem then go buy health care from private medical care or go to the US for healthcare. More people should try and become wealthy by taking advantage of how the financial pros operate on Wall Street. It is relatively easy but you do need to read a lot of reports and books. A lot of problems that people perceive in Canada go away when you have a bit of money.??

There was an incident were a cricket match was going to be shown in the mega plex put they did not show it something happened that was not mega plexes fault that it was not being shown there was a group of Indian students who started screaming at the ticket counter. It’s because of behaviour like this Canadians are hating international students from India .?. The 2022 -2023 batch on international students are a disgrace not saying g all of them are bad just most dont come to study just a back door into the country they see one of there family members went to Canada and they should to ?‍♀️. There was a polling conducted and most Canadians want less immigration from India . Canada is not as big like America . Having so ma y people come in just puts a strain on housing, who would think that people from a hot country would want to go to a cold country…. Just go to a wormer country . Many Indians aren’t even thinking about coming to Canada anymore look for other countries. Or better yet stay in India ??. If you have money you can live a really good life in India . Taxes , are high , homes are crazy expensive , car insurance is high , people’s are getting there cars stolen don’t see the benefit really coming to Canada . And most Indians already own there own house in India so way come to Canada and in India you pay very small taxes as well .?‍♂️ and at the end of the day white people are so racist towards Indians know they look at you like you are the reason there life is messed up ? make India. Great ????. America only has its military going for it it’s such a racist place to live as well . Canada talks about how great their health care is but when you see the wait times and how they have less doctors not so great . Canada and America are only great if you are already rich but if you are poor or middle class life is a struggle. I came to Canada in 2016 worked in IT until I had enough money saved up moved back to India and bought land and built a house just started buying more land and when I had enough moved back to India . Us Indians can be successful anywhere so way not be successful in our country. Hold out politicians accountable to make our country great ……… if someone wants to still come go right ahead it’s your life . But I don’t see the point t really ???‍♂️. India. And Japan is the most technology advanced country more than America even . America and Canada are just is just over hyped…… and there people are so racist to our people so way would I want to stay in there country ?‍♂️. And people that will say they want to bring there parents to Canada most of t he time it is cold and they will be inside so it’s better for your parents to live in india. Personally. I think seeing what the rest of the world is going through will be a reminder that its not just isolated to our country.

Lived in the US for 4 years and bought 5 rental properties in my home country. Now I'm retired at the age of 34. It was the best decision I have ever made. I am now building a business and want to expand to Canada for my actual retirement. I remember a much different country growing up.\n\nToday, our government has become sclerotic, especially under Justin. Our economy is much weaker. it's NOT free, after all taxes combined on an annual basis I'm paying around 60% taxes, carbon taxes, pst, gst, luxury taxes on cars over 50 k, all manner of hidden taxes, no health care is definitely not free. My health care plan in the US was 155 a month, my share, employer paid the rest, a good plan. But I took home 22% more of my income, which is massive on an annual basis, I was very rich down there, coming back to Canada it's sad, give the government all that money for what exactly? Can't think of one thing I ask the government for, but you know I'm self reliant, so self reliant people don't thrive in Canada. If I had lived in the US my whole life, same job/income I would be living a life multiples better than Canada.

Okay so no 100 k wont' get you that life you dream of, you'll get by in BC, but you can't buy anything. You can rent, you need 200 k now in BC, Kelowna average house is 1.1 m, Vancouver 1 bedroom is 3000 +, nobody wants to live in a jail cell, but maybe some wierdo's do? I don't know. \n\nIf your working and making 100 k in Vancouver, your working likely many hours for that, meaning there is no pay off, no car, rent a small apartment, have little savings.\n\nNow here's the REAL catch. If you make what some think is rich in Canada say 300 k a year. That works out to 182,000 after taxes, pension etc. Now homes in Vancouver, well let's maybe look at small condo's, hmm lets say a 850 sq foot condo sets you back 900 k, monthly mortgage is 6000, that's 72,000 a year, insurance, no car okay can't afford it, maybe a small car, 1000 a month insurance, payments fuel etc, cable, internet phone, etc etc food, another 2000 for a family of 3, wife one child. Thats now 9000 a month, dental, eye glasses, clothes, sports, other, another 1000 a month, 10,000 a month = 120,000 a year to live in a small 2 bedroom condo in Vancouver. Oh and condo fees 500 per month, so 126,000 a year, no extras yet.\n\nmeaning if you make 300 k a year and lets add on JOB expense, usually with high income comes some expenses, lets call it 6000 a year, suits, whatever. Thats 132,000 minus the after tax income of 182 and your left with 50,000 per year for savings and xmas, travel etc.\n\nNow you make 300 k a year and you live in a small 2 bedroom apartment and maybe some day, 10 years down the road you can buy a home. \n\nAnd the max you can afford on 300 k a year is around 1 million after a 100 k deposit.\n\nNow if you make more than that, there is NO reason to live in Canada, in BC they take 48 % of my income and what do I get lol, zilch, bad health care haha fun,

I have been shocked to learn how Canadians have given up r surrended their freedoms to the politicians. Legalizing hard drugs and the permissive application of the law is disturbing. I've always had a high regard for Canada, but giving up the right to protect yourself or your family is too much, too draconian. And the Universal Health Care is great, if you are healthy, but if you are sick or hurt- not so much. Wishing you luck finding a better culture. ( I have been equally shocked at Australia. Girl, if you speak Russian, you should go live in Russia! Russia's economy is booming right now. Canada and the USA are dead. I live in Illinois, born and raised. My Russian wife currently lives in Moscow, Russia where she was born and raised along with our 24 year old daughter. I must remain here in Southern Illinois because I have a lot of rental property I must tend to, while my Russian wife is living the good life in Moscow, where life is extremely affordable and the cost of utilities and health care is extremely low, with no taxes! Western countries are dead. You are one of the lucky ones, being able to get out of Canada for good. Lots of Westerners are fleeing Western countries for a much better, more affordable, quality of life. Get out while you can!

Being born in Saskatchewan as well I agree that Canada has suffered immensely in the last decade. I spent the majority of my adult life in Vancouver back when you felt safe everywhere you ventured. Not now, I'm socked at the decline especially the violence and drugs. I've lived in a few other countries over the past 30 years none have surpassed what has happen in Canada. I currently live in the middle east and have never felt safer. The taxation is crazy, the health care system is substandard and getting worse. For those who want to retire, Canada is not very friendly and typically way overpriced. I'm seeing a trend over the last 10 years of people opting for a warmer more friendly climate to spend what should be your years to enjoy life. Something I fear impossible in Canada's current climate!

Many countries do not allow this and we have many who hold Canadian citizenship but don't pay their fair share of income taxes (because they work in another country) and only show up once every six months to acess health care services.
