As an American, of course I don’t want the downsides of tariffs. But as your friend I don’t want Canadians to be in a disrespected position either. I hope this can be reversed.

I thought that there were so many checks and balances on the president of the United States, but seeing his actions, I am very confused at how he is not being questioned for his mental stability and his actual ability to lead your country I mean to what degree is the definition of treason not applied I don’t understand how the president of the United States can now align himself with Russia and destroy allegiances with friends and allies This is not seen as treason?\nTo my American readers… just remember the United States knows no better friend than Canada….. so does any of this make sense? How is it that we are the enemy now and your president wants to support Russia is he a Russian operative? How are you not removing this guy from power where are all these checks and balances that you always bragged about through my entire life ?

The sooner we Americans accept that Donald Trump is essentially batshit crazy and proceed to impeach the Orange Menace, the better off everyone in the world will be. Except of course, Russia. The more pressure great democracies as Canada exert upon Trump internationally, the more the U.S. economy (and Americans ourselves) will suffer. People in Canada just have to do what they have to do. But there are ways to carry on without 100% of the US business and hospitality. We never had to look far for things as American companies had offered to deal with Canada of course to their profit as well. So now we have to look around for new customers, start new ventures. A key component is being overlooked. The reason North Americans and Western Europeans can travel the world freely is because after our studies, temporary work or vacation, we go back to our home country. If your home country has a high likelihood of someone using a temporary visa to permanently stay in another country, then of course the Visa rejection rate will be high. No matter if it's India, Vietnam, Nigeria, etc. If the likelihood of you going back home is low then your visa rejection rate will be high.

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but when you first came back to Canada making these videos, you seemed unhappy that things cost more in Canada than in a developing country, I think it was Vietnam? If a person is lucky enough to be able to work around the world online and maintain the same wages of course developing countries will be cheaper. For people who live in Vietnam, the average monthly wage is $424 Canadian. The average wage in Canada is $5,607 so developing countries are cheaper if you are making North American style wages. Best of luck finding a place with lower crime, lower poverty, and a quality of life you enjoy.

I'm an American, married to a German, and we live in the Southern USA. We spend over a month each year in Germany and Europe. I will say that when it comes to making friends, Germany is far easier than in the Southern US. People here are closed off and absorbed into their own little world (there are exceptions, of course). I've had some bad experiences in Germany but overall have found the people to friendly and welcoming, especially in the North.

Meaning, to most of us , excepting the most left leaning socially progressive pockets and contexts , which even then wouldn’t be viewed that way to us just acceptable lol ?\n\nOur baseline/political middle in Canada is A LOT more left leaning than the baseline normal/political middle in the states. So while people tend to equate your democrats to our liberals or our NDP , and equate your republicans to our conservatives. It’s just not accurate. If you throw our span of parties and American span of parties on the SAME spectrum /polarity line. You might be surprised to realize how shifted left our systems range politically is from the American one. \n\nThis hugely impacts the average normal expectation , what we clutch our pearls at hearing coming out of the mouths of the general public , and our range of what we expect to not hear or see ranted about unless they’re to our view , extremely right leaning politically /social values. \n\nFor us this means that actually genuinely , a lot of America does get experiences by us as bat shit crazy racist homophobic immigrant intolerant culturally and religiously ignorant , and somewhat backwards in larger or smaller amounts ? My parents were both born in the states and my older brother was born there but they moved up here when he was a baby. So nearly all my extended family lives down there and I’m a duelly. And my experiences discussing things with my cousins or visiting absolutely could be described as culture shock at times. The insane things that came out of my own cousins mouths when they hear our friends or partners of various cultures , our not understanding how big a deal and incredibly insulting apparently it is to have assumed someone American was lgbt lol the list goes on. A tariff from Mexico to the US, will skyrocket the price of millions of products such as tomatoes, avocados, strawberries, onions, garlic, ginger, bananas, pineapples, mushrooms, potatoes, and more fruits, vegetables, tortillas, and more products that are products from Mexico. Those tariffs guess who’s going to end up paying for that? Of course us. I voted for Trump but that would be such a stupid movement from Trump’s administration. Lower prices?! Of course that would be nice. Economically speaking, that means that a vast number of people want deflation. It could work in an economy not dependent on excess and consumerism, but the US economy is propped up on speculation and buying out of want rather than need. Deflation is considered an economic failure in this country. We target 2% inflation for fear that without it, people will buy less now and then there will be a downward correction on output and then jobs. \nIn any case, broad tariffs won’t be the answer to lower prices. A global economy is an efficient one, but often unfair or unkind in specific localities. The US has benefited from globalization and low cost labor elsewhere for decades. But the pendulum swung too far and now many Americans are feeling left behind. Tariffs could bring back jobs but on a 5 to 10 year timeline, not one 4-year presidential term, much less in a year.

Secure the border? Yes. Prioritize deporting those who have committed crimes? Yes. But remember that the American economy relies heavily on foreign labour so the process of dealing with illegal immigrants needs to include dramatically increasing the number of immigration officials to get the productive, employed illegals some kind of legal status. I voted for Harris and despise Trump, however, I'm hoping Repubs do exactly what they've been wanting to do for YEARS, which is to finish their fence/wall along the ENTIRE border, deport ALL illegal/undocumented migrants, many of them Trump supporters, and shut about the stupid border already!! Americans are exhausted with the topic!!! I live in Arizona, I know of some illegal migrants close to me, they support Trump, and I'll be calling ICE on them on Jan 21st and will demand they get deported, and will work to find ALL migrants who supported Trump, and get them out of here!! Trump will crash the economy again, of course, so Dems will have to come in and clean it up again, as they always do after Republicans.

This will make our food prices go up. Food will rot in the fields as no one will be around to pick them. Who going to make beds and clean hotel room including resorts. Who is going to mow your lawn and trim your trees? Who is going to clean your tables and wash your dishes in the restaurants? Who is going to pave the streets and roads etc. Our food prices will go up, and businesses will be hurt. Our Gross National Product will decline. Tariffs will increase the price we pay for clothes, shoes, etc. Inflation will rise, unemployment will rise, and we will be headed into a recession according to experts. When she started with 'we need to take our country' back, I began to think she meant Mexican-Americans need to take back their country that was originally part of Mexico but was taken from them by the United States. eg Texas and other border states. Isn't that what the immigration north is all about? Taking back country? Of course the people who should really have the right to take back their country are the Indian Nations. They would be justified in deporting any families whose ancestors were illegal immigrants and did not get the equivalent of a green card from the original owners. I find it fascinating that descendants of illegal immigrants are so antagonistic to more recent illegal immigrants. 'We were illegal first! So we have the right to stop you illegals now!' ?

I've lived here 6 years and can't wait to leave. Salaries are just enough to get by. I work full-time as an analyst and am looking for a minijob just to save money, which I already live quite modestly. It's easy to come across nasty unfriendly people, neighbors, service people, people in government agencies. I hate people staring in the most unfriendly manner or givng attitude for no reason other than they are nasty people. Don't get me wrong, there are nice people as well, but the bad experiences outweigh the good. Beauracracy is overbearing, personalities are underwhelming, the food scene is underwhelming, learning German is a big burden when you work a full-time job (and now I need a minijob too??). The country seems like it wants to diminish the human spirit and ambition. I definitely regret moving here. Many housing companies are over charging rent. I found out the company, Deutschewohnen, who owns my apartment was overcharging me by nearly double!! I had to go through a year long court procession to get them to lower it to the legal price which I won. And now they sent me a letter last month saying they are raising my rent, which is illegal and I have to go through ANOTHER court battle with them. Of course it is exhausting to try and find another apartment. Some people search up to a year. What a joke. And not to mention the dating scene. I've been single the entire 6 years and I'm quite an outgoing, friendly, loveable person. Dating Germans comes with own weird experiences and I refuse to give them a chance anymore, for my own mental health. If you're POC, it's not uncommon to come across strange sexualizations and general lack of understanding other's cultures. A couple years ago I was attacked by 8 men while walking home at night. I ended up in the hosopital and there was an investigation opened. The police asked me why they attacted me, which I didn't know since it was unprovoked. They just followed me for awhile, surrounded me and started beating me. The police said it was probably because I'm Asian. Meanwhile, I'm not even Asian!!! I'm Latino. ??‍♂This is the type of ignorance POC have to deal with in Germany. Also, I only have 1 German friend and all my other friends are immigrants (which I love) but this poses it's own frustrations because many people move here, then move away after a few years when they learn they can have a more fulfilling life elsewhere. So keeping long term day-to-day friends can be a challenge. The entire system is exhausting and there's not enough balance to bring joy to my life to want to stay. When I lived in NYC, an African American aquaintance had just moved there after living in Berlin for 8 years. She warned me not to move here because I will never feel I belong. I didn't listen. That was a big mistake. Germans can have Germany. I'll find my joy elsewhere. End of rant. haha

Skilled workers are needed everywhere. They won't habe to go to Germany. Germany need cheap labor. Maybe offer visas and language courses to Latin American coutries. They have a similiar culture and are good people. But they would probably be unhappy in Germany.
