Yes, Trump is responsible, BUT like Canada says, “it’s the American GOVERNMENT” that is allowing this to happen. The entire Republican congressional delegation is also responsible.

This Canadian could only could stand 3 minutes before unplugging him. Too extreme, with incendiary language and hate for Trump and Republicans. A woke Euro globalist. \nCanada's disease of the Heart. He is about to go down with Ukraine's Z. \nThere are alternate, more nuanced responses from Canada, from Pierre Poilievre, the National Conservative opposition leader who has the support of the majority of Canadians, and the Province of Alberta's Premier Smith.

Though I'm not a fan of Trudeau as a politician, on his response to Trump I'm proud of him. He stood up for Canada with force and truth. People will remember that.

I am American independent voter who vote against Treasonous Trump this past election of 2024 in favor of Kamala Harris. While many of my fellow Americans voted for Trump many others like me did not. Now so many good and event Americans are going to suffer because of many Maga or Maga supporting Americans who foolishly chose to support Trump and his lies. Any pain and suffering Anti Trump supporting Americans, along international American Allies and theuir people, suffer will be squarely on the shoulders of Maga and Maga supporting Americans.\n\nHow Trumps first term wasn’t a wake up call and eye opener to how terrible he was and is as president is beyond me. He, treasonous Trump, did nothing to help our economy which essentially stalled or went into generally neutral state with essentially no growth positively or negatively, followed by a near complete nose dive due to Treasonous Trump’s poor handling and equally poor response to the Covid-!9 Pandemic. How people could seemed to forget that Treasonous Trump, not Joe Biden, was responsible for the current sate of things following the pandemic is beyond me. \n\nMaga and Maga supporting Americans have been conned again by Treasonous Trump, who not only failed to properly respond to the Covid pandemic but also incited and or encouraged many of Maga supporters to essentially attack the US Capitol in hopes of stopping Joe Biden’s Presidential Certification. Those in the Inter national world are not alone in their condemnation of the disgrace and embarrassment that sis current US President Trump. True Americans who believe in our constitution and rule of law as decreed by the founding fathers of our nation must unfortunately bare part of the shame Maga America has brought upon our country as a whole.Truly good and decent Americans must bare the shame of now living in a country that much International world now no longer trusts and has lost respect for. For all the hateful Maga thinking and or supporting Americans there are as many truly good non maga Americans who want more peaceful relations with allies in the international world. Sadly because of Trump and his hate many must now unjustly suffer .

American here. So happy to see this strong Canadian response. Down with the Trump Admin! ????

Truedope should cut the tariffs that Canada Had Long before Trump was in Office.\n\nThey love to tariff against us and not get a response.
2025-03-04 0
Trump's response to this was to address our PM as 'Governor' and threaten more tarrifs.
2025-03-04 0
Paula Newton, how dare you use the phrase anti-americanism! This is one of the most emotionally contained and dignified responses do the bullying president of the United States that I've heard so far. Trudeau has every right to be as pointed as he wants. I hate what Trump is doing and I live here! Trump doesn't speak for me. I have friends in Canada. Canadians are absolutely welcomed to help us do something to rein in the power of the dictator in training, Trump.
2025-03-04 0
Articulate, thoughtful, educated, emotional response. Something we will never get under Krasnov trump and maga cult. Thank you Canadian citizens for at least having an articulate leader.
2025-03-04 0
Trump is in the process of destablizing the greatest trade relationships in world history, while he angers at least half of his own citizens. This all being done while turning on a country that was our allie until January of 2025. Now he has cut off aid to Ukraine, setting the stage for their defeat. Trump now carries responsibility for the possibllty Ukraine will lose the war. Trump's legacy in history will be of the greatest looser and worst president in the history of the United States of America.

Why doesn't America have a responsible leader like Canada? Are we going to let our Country be run by Grifters and Greedy Con men? Take action TODAY! Americans make the choices. Not Insane fools by the name of Trump.

Trump is attempting to offset his tax cuts by implementing a tax that isn't called a tax. All of the money from the tariffs goes to the government. Trump has mentioned when tariffs were common as supporting what he is doing, but he doesn't add that at that time, there wasn't an income tax, so tariffs were how the government supported itself. Trump, knowing that tariffs are income for the government, is lying to his base so they will accept the increased prices as a necessary evil to battle the bad countries of Mexico and Canada. It will look like his tax breaks aren't hurting as much as they are and price increases will be the fault of the other countries.\n\nTrump is a conniving grifter with no knowledge of how to run a country's economy or international trade. He is gaslighting the American public to cover his own shortcomings.\n\nAlso, if fentanyl is entering the US, why is it the fault of the other countries? It is the job of the US to stop anything on its side of the border. Canada and Mexico do what they can to catch the drugs while inside their respective countries. The tons of cocaine and guns that enter Canada and Mexico from the US are caught by their border services; they don't blame the US for the products getting past their own border agents, and the US takes no responsibility for it making it across the border. Why is it other countries' fault for drugs getting past the US's border agents, but not the fault of the US that guns and drugs are going in the other direction? That is why countries work together, not fight over whose fault it is and try to punish each other.
2025-03-04 0
Drug use in America, particularly the fentanyl crisis, is a significant issue that requires attention from the government. If American citizens weren't using fentanyl, the demand for it in the market would decrease. However, during his administration, Trump often shifted responsibility for problems rather than addressing them directly. Additionally, the tariffs he implemented had widespread negative effects, impacting people both domestically and globally for the benefit of his administration.

Responsible spending Trudeau.. Trump just called you out on it. Oh wait that's why you're out!
2025-03-04 0
Well done Canada from your brothers and sisters across the pond. Naturally this is the only reciprocal response to such tariffs by adding ones of your own so I am not sure what Trump aims to gain from this.
2025-03-04 0
This is not aggressive towards the US, it's not harsh. This a reasonable response from the leader of a nation that is the victim of Trump's declared trade-war. .. The important word is 'war', not 'trade'.
2025-03-04 0
As an American, I can appreciate Canada's response to the felon president. We want Trump, Miller, MAGA politicians and Elon out. They are bullies and Putin's puppets.

Maybe building a Boarder Wall on America's Northern Boarder would be a good idea. Canada is responsible to guard our boarders and allow in only those who we feel qualify. Canada does not close it's boarders to those who wish to leave, nor does the United States close it's boarders to those who wish to leave. The United States is free to put up a wall and a boarder crossing anywhere you wish, stop whoever you want to stop from entering your country. I can tell you that The fastest Boarder Wall that I have ever seen go up is the one that Trump just raised between the United States and Canada, the Tariff Wall. What you have done is put signs on our shelves, buy Canadian. You have taken American Product from the top shelf, to the verry bottom shelf, behind the Made in China. You have closed the Travel Agencies to United States travel, nobody wants to go to your country, and I heard that there is going to be a 250% Tariff on hotel accommodations for Americans visiting Canada. It is not only about the Tariffs on Canada, who Used to be your friends, it is about your new friend Russia, who support Terrorist organizations all over the world, including the ones in Gaza who held Americans Hostage, who supports IRAN who supports Russia in murdering and raping women, kidnapping children in Ukraine, torturing and murdering citizens with their hands tied behind their backs. If this is what America supports, if this is what America does to its Ally's, I hope the taps for the oil and the switch for the electricity are turned off, and we never have to worry about each other ever again.\n\nCanada is a country with an Area roughly the size of the United States, with a population 340 Million is 8 1/2 times larger than Canada at $40 Million, with a GDP 9 1/2 times larger than Canada. America is a Bully.

Trump isn't being responsible , he's gone mad .?
2025-03-04 0
What a refreshing intelligent measured response to the illiterate tRUMP, notice PM Trudeau, didn't utter an ummm once, get confused or lose his train of thought, unlike the dictator tRUMP and his boyfriend fElon.\nNo shouting or bombastic rhetoric and lies, just a measured, articulate and intelligent response.

CNN, is there a reason why you are not equally posting Mexico's response to Trump's tariffs? Mexico is the US'S number one trading partner, and these tariffs will equally effect US consumers. There are now apps that translate from Spanish to English, and subtitles in English that appear at the bottom of the screen. As have been done with other languages on your program

I was very disappointed with Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. While I have always been pressed by his superior leadership record and skills especially with his spectacular response to the impending tariffs by travelling to UK and Europe and talking about trading with Europe and East Asian countries.\nWhat a disappointment when he called Putin a murderous dictator. Justin, let’s look at the record of your friends in the West. USA has over decades bombed and killed millions of Muslims in Arab countries. Today the murders continue to go one without a peep from you or your western leader friends. In the last week the US has bypassed Congress to ship billions of dollars of bombs to Israel so Israel can with these US bombs cleanse Gaza. So Israel can steal the Palestinian lands so Trump can built a resort and hotels in these stolen Palestinian lands.\nSo what about Ukraine? Same story, different tactic. NATO with your consent poked the Russian bear for decades before Russia, whose warnings about NATO expansion went unheeded. Russia had no choice but to fight a proxy war with Ukraine as US kept on shipping dollars and weapons to Ukraine ‘to weaken Russia’. When you won the election, Justin, I thought that a younger Canadian whose father was one of the most independent thinking leader, that you would take a history lesson and realize that the US foreign policy over decades has been the cause for so much complicity in so many countries around the world. Listen to Jeffrey Sachs and get your thoughts sorted out.\nListen to Ilan Pappe to know how the country you hug and kiss has murdered and stole Palestinian lands for over 7 decades. I have not once heard from you that Israel should be called out.

Where are our past presidents? PResident OBama? PResident CLinton? President BIden? PResident BUsh? They still garner the title President. We need their collective wisdom and non-partisan leadership to intercess and stand up to the TREASONOUS machinations of Trump. OUR DEMOCRACY IS IN PERIL….Canada is our friend and confidant. TRUMP IS GUILTY OF TREASON! He is single handedly dismantling decades of peace, goodwill, friiendship and above all SAFETY with our French Canadian neighbors. America is in serious trouble. CNN a you have a responsibility to use your far reaching platform to seek out the opiNions and diplomatic aid of our surviving better presidents. They possess the hardwon wisdom and experience to engage with world leaders and our senators…..\nPlease take a stand. These are scary moments. TRUMP IS GUILTY OF TREASON!\nHELP! SOS! ⚓⚓⚓⚓⚓⚓⚓⚓⚓⚓⚓⚓⚓⚓⚓⚓⚓⚓⚓

Don’t let Trump slime out of his responsibility for hurting American families
2025-03-04 0
Trump accused Ukraine President as dictator and he started the war and he was responsible complete opposite. Now Trump turns on its closest ally Canada. Trade war is dangerous lets step up and make relationships other countries such as China ,India whereever?????????????
2025-03-04 3
Wow Trudeau is a way better leader than I thought. I am impressed by his response to Donald Trump.
2025-03-04 0
Who even cares what trump's 'response' is?? It'll just be more lies and propaganda, and we've heard it all before. I wouldn't waste my time. It's all about a cash-grab for him and Elon...that's what it's always all about...how can I grift money off my taxpayers and abuse my position of power for 4 years to do so. He's just a callous POS.
2025-03-04 0
Very good response, Trump could never match his class.
2025-03-04 0
Lol, yea, this guy is part of the problem also. Well, here is my response. Piss off. I hope Mr. Trump will bump there tariffs to 50 %.
2025-03-04 0
Hey Trump, that's how to give an educated response. Not that shit that comes out of your mouth .
2025-03-04 0
Excellent response to the dictator Trump Canada!
2025-03-04 0
AGREE,what is this about definitely not the border !Trumps REGIME is trying to weaken Canada so he can Annex us!!!\nThat will never happen most Americans disagree with Trump more than half now after what has happened in the news lately!!\nThank you Mr.Trudeau for an eloquent, intelligent response to Trumps DUMB plan. After decades of good relations between our nations Trump has chosen Putin’s playbook\nCanadians and the world now are BOYCOTTING the once upon a time Ally Our neighbour America!!\nThis will not play out well for Americans Canadians or Mexicans \n??????
2025-03-04 0
We're not your friend or your ally anymore after you committed this unprovoked act of war against us. We won't forget what you did even if Trump chickens out again - America is responsible for this. Enjoy having Russia as your ally instead.
2025-03-04 0
Some people on here that should go live with Donald Trump and leave the rest of us to live in a country where we are kind, thankful and blessed with good neighbours .... One of the best countries in the world whose leaders are responsible law abiding adults. Not perfect country but one of the best in the world! ?
2025-03-04 0
So following Trumps Logic, he wants to be like Putin, and get america to embrace that along with Russia. To do so, he is picking firghts with all of america's allies and then using their responsses to demonise them to get USA to embrace Russia, aka, bring down americas walls - so to speak and embrace dictators. So America, we stand up, or find ourselves in the company of dictators and subject to their whims. Again, Trump is selling Russia to us by stabbing our allies in the back demonising their obvious responses. When only 1 man is responsible for this, it's not a democracy
2025-03-04 0
Yay Canada! That’s the right response. I just wish Trudeau could say Trump and his dictator ship administration and not the Americans because half of us here hate that man and completely disagree with his policies.
2025-03-04 0
The best response is 25 % export tariff on oil and minerals, but then there's a risk that Trump will invade Canada with troops.
2025-03-04 0
Trump is nuts and Republican politicians are cowards and ignoring their responsibilities to rein this nutcase in. My deepest apologies to Canada and the rest of the world. Except to Putin - he can suck it.
2025-03-04 0
Trump is an obvious symptom representing an abundance of ignorance within the society, so blame not one but all responsible for a deeply ingrained interpretation of reality!
2025-03-04 0
I just don't understand why is Canada responsible for American junkies? Canadians are not forcing Americans to get high. trump educates your people about drug addiction.
2025-03-04 0
Finally a reasonable discussion and response. Trump needs to stop the chaos and forge strength. We need to support our allies and fight against dictators like Putin.
2025-03-04 0
Trump does not speak for all of us. He only won by 48 percent. We understand your response because you have to stand up to a bully.
2025-03-04 0
The US was partly responsible for the collapse of the Soviet Union. Mr. Putin was a KGB officer during that era. Mr. Putin realizes the depth of Trump's ignorance and intends to take advantage of their relationship in order to bring the US further along the path to economic collapse. Payback for its role in the collapse of the Soviet Union as well as an opportunity to rid the world of a dimming superpower.
2025-03-04 0
Full props to Prime Minister Trudeau. A strong and decisive response was required and is exactly what’s needed to face trump down.
2025-03-04 0
Given how tariffs work, surely the response should have been not to retaliate?  \nRetaliations will increase costs for Canadians!? Trump's administration want a trade war. There has to be some covert devious evil plan. Ignore the fools. Don't play into their hands.
2025-03-04 0
Sorry Justin... even though I enjoyed this speech you're still responsible for ruining our country. Your woke policies and taxes have crippled the majority of Canadians and you have the nerve to say the government has our backs is an absolute joke. I don't believe a word you say and I never will. If Pierre was in office right now Trump would have respect for us Canadians. Trump despises JT and so do 80% of Canadians.
2025-03-04 0
A neurologist should thoroughly examine Trump's brain, as I strongly suspect the presence of significant anomalies. It is conceivable that some of these could be addressed through medical intervention. However, in his current state, his cognitive and behavioral responses appear untenable. It would be prudent to declare him temporarily unfit for decision-making until his condition improves. Wishing him a swift and full recovery!\n\nPeople of Canada, we in Germany hold you in high regard and stand with you. Stay strong—we will support you ❤

Someone tell Adolph trump to read history, THIS IS HOW TO START A WAR. We the people are responsible for letting this go on. We need to stop it before it is too late and then \nWe will be saying “we should have done something”.too bad we didn’t have someone with intelligence and common sense as Trudeau.

I agree with Canada in every statement said here. It’s sad that Americans have allowed themselves to be manipulated by one man. As an American I say to Canada and Mexico, do what you need. We don’t see this as an attack on us, but as a response to an attack by Trump on your countries. I used to wonder how Hitler was able to convince so many to follow him. We have seen exactly the same behavior by Americans, today, who follow Trump. It’s sad, and it’s disgusting.
