I’m an American and I just want to apologize to Canada. You have always been a good neighbor and a friend. You don’t deserve this. The Donald Trump version of America has shown that its treaties and its word are meaningless by betraying its own agreements with you. I am truly sorry. And I urge you to do what you need to do to protect yourself. The truth is that the America we all once knew, the one I grew up in, is gone.

I was glad that not too long ago... Trump actually did say the truth to the American people: Canada imports 95% of it's goods from the USA... with us refusing to buy American, with all of us buying Canadian or International products instead... how will he be making America great again ?? By bankrupting the country ?? Does he thinks that 25% tariffs will make Canadians shake in their pants and all of a sudden want to be the 51st State ?? No, it's just like bringing us back to the days before NAFTA. We were able to live back then and we will be able to now as well.

I cannot see any sanity, logic, or forward looking, with putting tariffs on our allies. It is hurtful to everyday Americans. Who benefits from this? The wealthy, like t-rump, and his cronies. Meanwhile the traitorious Supreme Court works on bending the law to suit t-rumps bidding. We are early in this presidency. If you think inflation was a very serious concern of t-rump or the repubies, why doesn't he fix it right now? What he is doing is causing inflation to skyrocket with no end in sight. Those of you wealthy who think t-rump is right are a leach who feeds off of taking from those who have little to nothing. If t-rump wanted to he could fix it on day one like he said. He has no idea what he is doing - laying off thousands of federal workers. He wants to bring jobs to America by becoming a traitor to our very faces with putin. you repubes are all traitors to what the Flag stands for. Those jobs won't come in the next 4 years. If there are no manufacturing plants in the U.S. we will have to build them. How long will it take to build these factories and tool them up to accept workers? None of what the repubes agenda is set about bringing jobs to America - the way I see it, we are losing jobs now. The factories won't be ready for years. I’m convinced Trump wants to kill the US. He’s doing everything possible to help Russia at the expense of America. Canada has known for decades that we have put too many eggs in one basket - selling our resources primarily to the USA. We've had tariffs before and worked with them. Yet we still keep selling to the USA. This time is different. In conjunction with the tariffs, we have an American administration that is flat out insulting Canada. Saying we wouldn't exist economically if it wasn't for the USA. It's at a time when the USA won't promise not to use military force to annex land (Greenland) from a decades old ally. A time when clearly Putin is calling in his chips for whatever he has over Donald Trump. Canadians have had enough. We are directing our governments, provincial and federal, to finally, finally break from the north-south trade links. We need to establish stronger east-west trade links. The resources we have are wanted by many countries if the USA does not want them. It does mean much work within Canada. We need to get our AB-BC pipeline finished as well as the new sea terminal so we can ship our crude oil and natural gas to Japan and if need be, to China. We finally need to get out pipeline to the Atlantic coast finished so we can supply the UK and EU with our products. We need to double our rail capacity for shipping potash, uranium, rare minerals to Asia or Europe. Just as Trump hopes for a golden age of American companies coming home and building new plants in the USA, this will be a golden decade for Canada to create transportation corridors to get our resources to other buyers. America will have to look elsewhere for his raw materials. And we all know what that is - RUSSIA. They've already offered their rare minerals and crude oil. This is all clearly a well thought out scenario from the people working behind Trump to dismiss America's allies and trading partners - have us turn against the USA - as the excuse to open the door to Russian imports into the USA.

I am American independent voter who vote against Treasonous Trump this past election of 2024 in favor of Kamala Harris. While many of my fellow Americans voted for Trump many others like me did not. Now so many good and event Americans are going to suffer because of many Maga or Maga supporting Americans who foolishly chose to support Trump and his lies. Any pain and suffering Anti Trump supporting Americans, along international American Allies and theuir people, suffer will be squarely on the shoulders of Maga and Maga supporting Americans.\n\nHow Trumps first term wasn’t a wake up call and eye opener to how terrible he was and is as president is beyond me. He, treasonous Trump, did nothing to help our economy which essentially stalled or went into generally neutral state with essentially no growth positively or negatively, followed by a near complete nose dive due to Treasonous Trump’s poor handling and equally poor response to the Covid-!9 Pandemic. How people could seemed to forget that Treasonous Trump, not Joe Biden, was responsible for the current sate of things following the pandemic is beyond me. \n\nMaga and Maga supporting Americans have been conned again by Treasonous Trump, who not only failed to properly respond to the Covid pandemic but also incited and or encouraged many of Maga supporters to essentially attack the US Capitol in hopes of stopping Joe Biden’s Presidential Certification. Those in the Inter national world are not alone in their condemnation of the disgrace and embarrassment that sis current US President Trump. True Americans who believe in our constitution and rule of law as decreed by the founding fathers of our nation must unfortunately bare part of the shame Maga America has brought upon our country as a whole.Truly good and decent Americans must bare the shame of now living in a country that much International world now no longer trusts and has lost respect for. For all the hateful Maga thinking and or supporting Americans there are as many truly good non maga Americans who want more peaceful relations with allies in the international world. He pardoned violent offenders and called them patriotic, spouts false information, obstructs investigations, has numerous felony charges against him and has now made enemies with our allies. Shall I go on? That's not Christian. Even if you aren't Christian...that's not what America stands for. All for what...eggs? Guns? Cheaper groceries? Or because your need for hating a small group of people out weighs global peace. Or is it because you are so short sighted that you can't even see the valuable contribution that non American born people provide this country. Yes, Biden fell asleep at the wheel. Not over the safety of Europe. Not over ripping off our closest and favorite country that borders us. Not over losing our democracy and our allies. Why should we pay for everything then they want to tax us?? Should America not get something for protection of a country?? Why do we need to pay there bills? Why should we pay for a war we’re not in? Ukrainian war Americans pay?? No! Canada dosent defend themselves Americans pay?? Then when we tax them like they tax us they want to slap a gift horse in the mouth??

Why can’t we have a real leader like this! Instead we have a belligerent egomaniac Russian asset as president. He shouldn’t have even had 10% of the vote. Y’al knew better but didn’t vote better because of many superficial reasons, among them, sexism and racism. Now all of us Americans are losing. I’d love to see the day when we as Americans can come together as ONE & stand up against people like Trump that are harming all Americans. United we stand. Divided, ALL of us fall. Some of y’al thought it wouldn’t impact you even if his policies impacted others (and not you) so you didn’t care and voted for public enemy #1 despite all the warnings given. Now here we are. Maybe building a Boarder Wall on America's Northern Boarder would be a good idea. Canada is responsible to guard our boarders and allow in only those who we feel qualify. Canada does not close it's boarders to those who wish to leave, nor does the United States close it's boarders to those who wish to leave. The United States is free to put up a wall and a boarder crossing anywhere you wish, stop whoever you want to stop from entering your country. I can tell you that The fastest Boarder Wall that I have ever seen go up is the one that Trump just raised between the United States and Canada, the Tariff Wall. What you have done is put signs on our shelves, buy Canadian. You have taken American Product from the top shelf, to the verry bottom shelf, behind the Made in China. You have closed the Travel Agencies to United States travel, nobody wants to go to your country, and I heard that there is going to be a 250% Tariff on hotel accommodations for Americans visiting Canada. It is not only about the Tariffs on Canada, who Used to be your friends, it is about your new friend Russia, who support Terrorist organizations all over the world, including the ones in Gaza who held Americans Hostage, who supports IRAN who supports Russia in murdering and raping women, kidnapping children in Ukraine, torturing and murdering citizens with their hands tied behind their backs. I don't like Trudeau, but this speech was great. Intelligent when he needed to be, simple when addressing Trump. A strong start to this trade war which as he said, we don't want. I hope along with Ford we hit America where it hurts.
