As a Canadian a citizen ,I am more than angry ,I am ashamed and embarrassed at the Trudeau government ! All the liberals needed to do is fix borders and take care of the devastation safe supply sites which Canadian citizens have been calling for ,for years !! Disgusting ! United States have been friends and neighbours throughout most of Canadian history and this selfish greedy corrupted PM just destroyed all of it for nothing but to impose himself on the seat since we are going to war ! Detestable! Trudeau is the threat to Canadians not Trump ! ??????❤️and remember this clown Trudeau is suppose to be stepping down in the coming days ! Think about how selfish and careless these liberals are !

Ridiculously proud Canadian here. As much as it genuinely upsets me that things had to come to this, it came as no shock. tRump has always been jealous of Canada - our oil, natural gas, timber, minerals, etc.. tRump is ridiculously jealous of our younger, fAAAr better looking country AND Prime Minister. \nSeriously though, Canadians ARE a proud bunch. We just don't feel the need to flaunt it. But this..... THIS one thing has sparked something SOOO fierce, SOOO visceral in my fellow Canucks that now that pride does not only burn in our hearts, but in our bellies..... on a guttural level.

Dont reciprocate tariffs and then use that money as a handout! Tarrifs are bad for the people. Just find other countries that want to buy canadian product and resources. That would solve the whole issue

Doug Ford or Trudeau’s reciprocal actions against the U.S. are secondary to me as a Canadian. For days, they’ve been misleading the public with talk of imposing tariffs on U.S. goods or cutting power supply, but that’s not the real issue. \n \nWhat truly matters is how our government is actively mitigating the economic impact. Are they securing new markets? Have they repaired strained relations with China, which were damaged in 2021 over the arrest of Huawei executive Meng Wanzhou to appease the U.S.? Are we expanding oil exports to Japan, India, or China? Have we dispatched trade delegations worldwide to open new opportunities? \n \nWrong move. Canada doesn't have a functioning government. There is no mandate. The Prime Minister has resigned. Parliament is not in session. There is no reason to escalate. The focus should be on finding a solution the root cause of why the tariff was put in place over the border and fentanyl. \n \nIf not, then all these moves by Ford or Trudeau are meaningless—just political maneuvering to distract Canadians from the real problem.

The problem as I see it, is that responding in kind to Trump like this is possibly to invite an invasion, justified by Trump claiming that Canadian assets are essential to US national security. It's hard to parse the provocation from the US as anything less than a pretext to eventually try and annexe Canada. Maybe Russia will attack the Baltics at the same time. It's becoming increasingly obvious that the US Government is no longer a friend to the free world.

From Ukraine with respect. A few decades ago our school hired a Canadian as a native speaker to teach us some spoken English. He was not very smart and made some grammar mistakes here and there. But what surprised me is how on his 1st day he tried to make a joke, smth. “We, Canadians, have nothing to apologize for, except for Celine Dion”. He startled to giggle, searching our faces for a sign of approval. There was none! We love Celine! As a Canadian, I am boycotting all products from the US as much as possible. The US Administration is weak and unrespectful of allies. They want to annex Canada for our natural resources. 2018 Trump put tariffs on Canadian lumber and the cost to build a house or any thing requiring lumber went up. House insurance went up as the replacement cost using lumber had gone up. As a Canadian, I share the opinion of about 80% of our country. Trudeau is a clown, and after 10 years of him destroying our country, we can't wait for him to be gone. The stuff he is saying about the flow of drugs is not accurate. Just like everything he does, the moves he has made to fight the drug trade are just theatre, with very little results. I don't like Trump, but he is correct about the drug issues we have up here.
