Tyler's reaction to Canadian fears about school shootings throughout this is that this is a big city problem, and if you move to a small town, you'll be safe and not have to worry about it. So, I got curious, and looked up the population of Sandy Hook, home to one of the most famous (feels gross to describe such a tragedy that way) school shootings. It has a population of less than 10,000 people. What is a small town to Tyler, because 10,000 people seems pretty small to me?\n\nAs a Canadian, I was utterly flabbergasted going into a US pawn shop and them just having a gun room. Enough guns to arm a small army. Hunting rifles. Handguns. Even one that looked like some kind of assault rifle. You can get guns in Canada, but at like, a hunting store, with proper licencing. The fact that you could go to a pawn shop and just...browse the guns there is so alien to me. Every country that has tighter gun control has fewer school shootings, and shootings in general. Like, shootings still happen here, but not to the same extent they do in America. American gun culture enables them because they both make guns so readily available, and have a culture that celebrates gun ownership in a way other cultures, like my Canadian culture, do not. I think our last school mass shooting was in the eighties? So, if I lived in the US, I don't think I'd be afraid to send my kid to school, but it would be way more of a concern than it is here, where I don't even consider the possibility of that happening at all.

Nothing is left in that house,even doors,windows and Electricity meter is also stolen and they have to arrange everything new.\nIn my Two and half years stay in Kuwait ,my collegue and his family did not visit Pakistan even once.\nMy question is what Pakistan as an Islamic Country achieved by seperating from India on the basis of a Country for Muslims?.\nOne should aprreciate the couple for boldly accepting lawlessness in Pakistan.

The gun culture is insane, i would never move to the states, i do not wish to be shot. I would never visit the states for any reason.\nEdit, Canadians HAVE guns. My 63 year old mother in law bought a shot gun for her hikes, cuz bears and cougars. Grandpa is a marksman and at age 87 STILL competes in shooting competitions and regularly wins.\nThe problem is how Americans FEEL about guns. They are toys, they are something they are entitled to.\nAmericans are armed, ready, and just WAITING to use their guns on an intruder to defend themselves.

The thing about the job health insurance that a lot of Americans don't really think of as a business case: If a person has their insurance tied to their job, they will almost never be able to move to another one if they develop a life-threatening condition. Even with diminished bars of entry due to pre-existing conditions, your health insurance can be denied if you transition to another company. If you are denied, your best healthcare options are then tied to your income, and that means you basically have to be unemployed and living on social entitlements. \n\nThe thing is, this locks you into your position, and you are literally at the mercy of the company which means you're only going to be doing the minimum amount of work necessary to not get fired. If you have a socialized/universal single-payer healthcare plan, your job is no longer a limiting factor, you can switch employers basically at-will. The boon for businesses is that people will be more able to move rather than have to get you to do a dance with your insurance company. \n\nThe other thing for me is that having been in the US, I felt less safe in blue states than I did in Canada, and I felt worse in red states. The USA is a beautiful country, but it's a STRANGE society. One thing I can say is the USA tends to get bright fast once they catch on to how big a problem actually is, so here's to hoping that happens soon because brother, you have a mess of problems on your plate. \n\nThis isn't the only thing, but FWIW, I have had multiple opportunities to move to the US for work, and I work in a field where I can command a very good salary, but I choose to not live there. I'd move to Belize, or a Nordic EU country instead.

America has mad shootings daily, they are famously the dumbest country on the planet. Democracy is important, but the USA is falling away from this. Two political parties is dangerous too. Need way more options. The facts that a majority of Americans voted in a celebrity billionaire racist loser makes me think they are even dumber than they are famous for. Climate incompetent. The number one problem I have with the states is the education system or lack of it. The public education system is awful. I’d rather live in about 50 other countries first. USA sucks ! Most Canadians think you are a country of morons. Which celebrity racist will you vote in next?

US - the problem is when there are obvious problems you have a system that allows big money into politics, which allows for lobbying, which in my opinion is legal bribery. The idea that politicians had ( or have ) NRA ratings for supporting openly guns and not implementing the most logical of common sense gun control. \nHealthcare - in Canada, not having the healthcare tied to your employer actually makes Canadians a more free country. There are a lot of Canadians in the arts ( musicians, painters etc. ) that have the freedom to pursue any employment that wish, and not worry about the health benefits. \nIt kind of surprises me that you were surprised about school shootings. From what we see, that is not happening all in big cities. Sandy Hook was the worst. To think that Congress didn't do a thing after that, is reason enough not to want to move there.\nAnd Donald Trump has soured my wanting to ever even go there on holiday. Unbelievable that after two years, so many Americans believe anything he says, when he claims that he won in 2020 with not even a ounce of evidence to the contrary. There is not even a theory that would explain his claims. The mistrust of Americans with each other stems from people like Trump and Fox news. \nI think as you said - Healthcare alone is enough for almost any Canadian. I don't know anyone that owns a gun, I don't know of anyone who has gone bankrupt for being sick, and I never worry my granddaughter going to school and being shot.

As a Canadian that immigrated from the US over 50 years ago, NO WAY! I still have relatives there, even a brother who lived most of his life in Canada - from age 10 to 50 - lives in the US, and I won't even visit him. Find a lot of the area where you would go as a tourist, full of arrogant a'holes (including my brother). If have, to admit that I do enjoy watching your channel, and I am sure that there are a lot of nice people in small town America, but I have to agree with many of the submissions you read. Don't like the politics, gun violence and political attitude to it, the treatment of minorities, the treatment of women, the villinization of the LGBTQ2 community, the book bans in the schools - MAJOR PROBLEM - the school curriculum being adjusted to reflect history in a whitewashed manner.....I could continue.....but my answer is an obvious HELL NO!

Move to the US?: maybe*\n\n*there is currently only 1 state I would even consider, and even then my answer would be no due to all of the guns and all the corporations running rampant, putting 1000s of lives at risk. And your federal government seems to be doing its best to make every problem you have down there worse.

Each countries have their pros and cons. Yes guns and religions are a big turn off but in Canada we're not as free as in USA. \nHere, in Canada, i can't defend myself or my home, i have to way for the police to show up (and it take enough time for the cops to find a corps) if i do and do arm or kill the offenderl, i end up in jail which leaves Canadians with 2 choices. Either get killed or get in Jail. \nIn the last years i saw Canada going to a close to be socialists system and slowly going into a communist system which scare the shit out of me. I won't allow the governement to tell me where to work, where to live, when to bath or what to think. \nThen there's theses biggots who wonder why their church is not open 24/7 and believe earth is flat who claim everything that's not related to them is evil. Theses are the most stupid and dangerous people in the world because they're armed and fanatics. Sometimes you can almost think they'll start a new crusade 400 years after the grand inquisition. In Canada we kicked out theses priest and their BS out of our homes and pollitics for 60years now and that's one of the main reason why Canada is better. \nThen there's that millitary expense problem. We don't spend 2/3 of our incomes into a war machine then say there's no money. We don't bail our youth to FORCE them to do their millitary services. \nI wish i could have a gun to defend myself and it's a shame i can't do neither of thoses.

For all the amazing things the US has to offer, right now we don't even want to visit there, let alone move there. We've talked about it a lot, but nope. In Canada, generally speaking (although there are exceptions to every rule) we have no idea what political leaning our neighbors favor. Political campaigns last no more than 51 days; they do not start the day after the last election and go on for years. This way, elected officials actually do some work instead of campaigning. Right now, the politics in the US, as well as the judiciary, are literally insane. Gun violence in the US is insane, as is the attitude towards guns. It shouldn't take a shooting that affects you personally to make you care about it, and it's not just at schools. The US has had 28 mass killings, with 140 victims, in 6 months... but the problem is that no one down there cares about that enough to stop it, or even discuss ways to stop it. The politics is so sold out to corporations that what is good for the people just doesn't matter. It is capitalism run amok. Environmental protections? They are an inconvenience, and most of them were rolled back a few years ago under the presidency of He Who Must Not Be Named. So politics, elections, shootings... but wait. There's more. I have a wonderful friend in the US who has amazing health care, and yet when he got cancer, he was screwed. We do pay a health care premium up here, but it is a drop in the bucket compared to what people in the US pay for private insurance. Yes, you have the best hospitals in the world, but it doesn't matter if you can't afford to walk in the door. Now dump the intolerance -- racism, homophobia, religious zealots, misogyny (yes, I am talking women's rights, equal pay, access to health care, etc) -- throw in the crazies with guns, and now ask the question again. I absolutely know that Canada is not perfect, and that the tolerances and attitudes towards all these subjects differs from region to region, but overall we are a country that tries to respect the rights and needs of others, that has empathy for others, that wants to help others, and that is a pretty firm foundation to make us want to stay here. (please don't interpret this as all Americans and all areas of the US have no respect etc... but the predominant issues of health care, politics, religion, corporate greed, and violence, now all supported by a bat-crap crazy SCOTUS, sadly spills and taints it all. I know there are amazing, generous, kind people all over the US, but I don't know where the crazies are or where they might pop up).

He stated a couple of times that you need to be strategic in where you live in the US when speaking of gun violence. I could live anywhere in Canada and not worry about my kids. Also, what can you expect from a country that believes 1/3 pound is less than 1/4 pound. Don’t believe me? Ask A&W…they tried to sell Americans a 1/3 burger for the same price as McDonalds 1/4 burger and it flopped, Even though blind taste tests proved most people thought it was a better tasting burger. Maybe if you ( Americans) had adopted the metric system, you wouldn’t have that problem. America is on of only 3 countries in the world that still use the imperial system. The other 2 being Myanmar and Lydia.

I grew up in small town Canada, comfortable with firearms, but as a tool, not as a means of defence. The gun culture is a problem. We have mental health concerns to at least a similar degree, but they tend not to be armed.

I dont have a problem with the average American but life in Canada is everything you could ask for. Health care of course but here you can truly do what you want and live your dream if you work for it. Every single person here stands a chance to do amazing things if they have the drive and motivation. We take care of each other here and there are always lots of jobs. \n99% of Canadians would never move to the States unless it was ridiculous to turn down a huge opportunity. But your average person, never. We have it way better here. I have spent a fair bit of time in America. While I have enjoyed it and met some great people there is no comparison when it comes to overall quality of life in every regard.

So I just want to say just the fact that you have to think about where you want to live for religious, race or safety reasons that is a problem. As a Canadian that travels/moves for work when I look for a town or a city to live it’s how hard is it to visit family/friends is there hiking/fishing/hunting how long do I have to drive to the kids school. I never look at the crime rates in a city, or the number of school shootings, can I get insurance at the new jobs if needed…. And it’s really sad that most of you do.

Tyler, remember that the mass media plays a big role in this as anytime there is a school shooting in the US it gets reported in Canada. The news focuses on anomalies and these are still anomalies. I remember the first time I went to NYC in 1988 when it was still much more dangerous than it is today. When I got off the train I told my girlfriend not to take her camera out - but as soon as we rounded the corner from Grand Central it was wall to wall tourists and everyone had their camera out. I ended up having a great time and rode the subway all over the place, no problem whatsoever. I have travelled across the US several times and been to every single US state. There is huge variety and the US is my fav country in the WORLD for a road trip - so convenient, easy, interesting, beautiful and with friendly people everywhere. I have a message, having travelled to 105 countries on 6 continents and living 15 years of my life abroad in various countries - almost EVERYWHERE is safe in the world and full of mostly great people. TV isn't reality folks! If you are an idiot, you could get into trouble anywhere.

I've been to 15 countries and out of all the hotels and stuff I've stayed in I've left things laying around like some money, wedding ring and never had a problem even in very poor countries.\n\n Except in one country where I left my wedding ring laying on the nightstand by the bed like I always do all over the world, and guess which country I had my wedding ring stolen out of all of them? It was in Canada where a maid came in and stole my fucking wedding ring. So now I don't have my wedding ring that I' had for 10 years because I made the mistake of going to Canada to see the Niagara falls.\n\n This was not in a fleabag hotel either it was the Hilton which was a very nice but overpriced place with no parking. I have no desire to ever go back to Canada again. If you do go to Canada hide your jewelry because the maids there will steal your stuff. Seriously I've been in Cuba, Dominican Republic and Jamaica and they respected my property and didn't steal it. hello, Canadian here. i believe that ( personally ) if Canada had the same freedom for weapons as the USA, things wouldn't go as bad as the USA. or wouldn't change at all. the main problem, which americans at large still refuses to admit it seems, or at least the loudest ones, is that it's a culture problem, not a gun problem. the whole of USA culturally is kinda rotten with way more chances for someone to just crack and go nuts, or commit a shitty act out of desperation, anything. while in Canada, we have people and gorups to help take care of this. we do not bankrupt people by making them seek help at hospital, and so on. the whole socio-economic of the USA is to blame for this. \n\nin my humble, basement dwelling person opinion as someone who thought about this subject for a while.

I wouldn’t move to the US and the medical is only the second reason my number one reason is your lack of freedom. For instance I have always had cats, at this moment I have three cats who are my pride and joy, two of them even go out for walks with me in a pet stroller and even came with me yesterday to the Scottish festival in my neighbourhood and the problem with moving to the US is Landlords can tell you that you have to get rid of your pets were here in Canada, in my part of Canada anyway it is going against your rights to tell you you can’t have your pet and there is no way in hell I would get rid of my cats they are my family and my only family so because of that I would not move to the United States

Maybe the feds should have shut down the Roxham road fiasco sooner. Just saying. They poured over that border like crazy and now we think there’s a problem? I wondered why the country felt so much better lately. I now realize that it is because you and a few other bellyachers have departed. Thanks, you have done us all a favour. The population in Canada is now over 40 million and gowning so it appears that there are some people who don't agree with you. I wish you would have taken a few thousand of those people who are constantly sneaking across the border into Canada with you, as we could certainly do without them. As for health care, it isn't perfect here in Canada, but I would certainly prefer what is available here rather than being one of the 32 million Americans who can't afford medical coverage and, if they suffer a catastrophic medical problem, end up losing everything they own trying and pay the bills and end up living on the street.

I have faced such issues while traveling in economy and the thing is that the leg space is a lot low. The person sitting behind you might push your seat jist simply tell the air hostess about the issue. Everytime I faced such a issue I told them and never had a problem. If you can't adjust then fly in a private jet or business class if you can't afford then shut the heck up.

I see this done a lot but there's a big difference between correlation and causation. Your Rbc example shows the top people all white, including women I may add. You don’t have to be conservative to think illegal border crossing is a problem. Amnesty is the legal option for people wanting to cross. I welcome all who go through the amnesty process. Illegal entry is unacceptable.

Many countries purport themselves to be better at some thing than another country. I hear a lot of Canadians. Criticize other countries for their pollution, or CO2 emissions and oil production. Interestingly enough, Canada is in the top three largest CO2 emitted is due to the oil and gas industry Per capita than most other countries. So, if people are concerned about the environment, they should understand where Canada really stands.\n\nAdditionally, I think it could be important for you to talk about how expensive things are in Canada. Canadians pour over the border into the United States for better housing to go to Costco and grocery stores and shop for clothes and large appliances, and to avoid high taxation. They also come to the United States for better schools, better work conditions and higher pay. In fact, the joke is people immigrate to Canada as a steppingstone to eventually immigrate to the United States, which is why Canada has a big problem keeping educated talented people.\n\nSafety nets for society certainly have their importance however, socialist policies do not work the best. All they do is dumb down society by destroying competition and quality and quantity of and even accessibilities goods and services.

This is the biggest load of crap I ever heard I live in Edmonton as well I am a nurse and I also have two half black children who both identify as black my daughter is 18 yrs old and has never once in her life received any kind of racism as well I have never received any racism having them. I assume that there are no homeless people in the US or France...How many thousands and thousands die from drugs in the US and other countries in the world.Yes,the governments should do better and find/build special housing for these people.They should set up special\nclinics in order to detoxify these drug addicts.The problem is that people don't want to have these clinics in their neighbourhood because they are afraid of fights,their houses will go down\nin value and so on.I saw a documentary about the homeless people and I was surprised and not surprised about what they are saying.There is what they call the Old House Brewery in\nMontreal and there are about 50 beds (or more) and the homeless people can sleep,eat and shower.There are a lots of then who refuse to go to this place,some say that so people were\nmaking noises at night and they prefer to sleep under bridges ..Homeless people are everywhere in the world.DON'T FORGET THAT IT 'S ALSO THE JOB OF THE PROVINCES TO FIND\nSHELTERS FOR THESE PEOPLE...

As a Canadian I'd just like to say, she's so wrong. Africans love Canada, and we love them. Now, African Americans, thats a tricky one. Its not about the colour of ur skin, its about attitudes. 90% of the time when dealing with African Americans, u can tell their waiting and looking for racism, get upset when they dont find it. The victim mentality is a real turn off. Again, go ask some Africans about life in Canada, i bet u get more positive than negative. If you understood the s*** that was going down in Venezuela, you would be fighting for these people to have Asylum here. Do you know how much of Texas is unoccupied? Like SO much of it. It's not a very densely populated state. It can take years for Asylum Seekers to go through the process legally. Don't they deserve some level of safety while the process is sorted out? And instead we keep instituting policies that make things even more difficult and create even more tension. Nobody is fully in the right here necessarily, but people really need to start approaching this with much more empathy and Humanity. If you guys really have such a problem with all the migrants being in Texas, there's always Wyoming. Nobody lives in Wyoming. Uhhh can anyone say ‘invasion’? Where the living heck is the military?? Annnd give it a few months and we’ll start seeing half of them up here in Canada accessing all of our social programs ( ie: say good bye to healthcare for the rest of us who have paid into it our whole lives and may need it someday ) and probably being housed for free. I wish Canada did more R&D. We have the talent and brains to be innovative, yet so many of us go work in the oil & natural gas sector because it pays handsomely.\nAlso to live in the most scenic provinces like BC and Ontario is crazy expensive. We moved from AB to BC in 2009 which my parents bought their house for $550,000 that's situated 40km East of Vancouver, and today their house is valued at 1.4 million... almost 3 times the original purchase price in just over a decade. Now an adult, my wife and I were forced to move back to Alberta and leave our families because we simply cannot afford to rent there nor ever have an honest shot at saving enough money to buy our own place. It is what it is and I'm sure it's a common theme that's not only exclusive to Canada, but man, it does sucks. I'm happy for any immigrants to move here and call Canada their home too, but many are loaded with money and purchase numerous properties just to then rent it out at an absurd rate because they can. It's fueling the problem worst and making it unfair for the born & raised Canadians.

POPULATION. \n\nCompared to countries like denmark, sweden, japan, france, uk, etc. we have a much bigger country to maintain landmass wise. Infrastructure. USA is similar but they have 10x the population as us. Our population in canada is pathetic. Problem is everyone stays in ontario or BC which is stupid, im in sask I want population. Another thing about infrastructure is our climate. We have such drastic events in our climate across our huge country that takes a toll. Climate problems with our low population is not a good thing. I mean most people outside canada and even within Canada dont believe me but Saskatchewan goes from like -45 to +45C with windchill/humidex. Our forests are on fire often, that is not normal. That costs so much money to fix as well. In summer sometimes, Nunavut or NWT will be warmer then here, we talk about it here when it happens. Think about that. Weather is HUGE in saskatchewan. We talk about weather daily. I never realized until internationals pointed that out that we are obsessed with weather in sask lol. \n\n Our housing market is a joke and I agree we need to invest more in buisnesses but at the same time we need affordable housing, we are in a weird spot. As far as working etc goes people commenting here lol the golden years of the 80s are gone old timers, my parents realize this that you guys were spoiled in one of the greatest time periods in human history - post WWII boom and the effects. I could go on and on how the 70s-90s were one of the best time periods in modern history for various reasons but I wont. There are problems internationally, we live in a globalist world. We still have it good. Go travel and make international friends. This is nothing that we are dealing with at the moment. All I will say though is leave the huge metropolitans like Toronto and Vancouver. Everyone wants to go there because they think 'theres more opportunity' ugh. Theres opportunity across canada but if everyone things like that there will be problems. The idea of Ontario or BC is just a big nope for me (although I go to BC every couple years, love it there I would not want to live there).

I would add that because of the lack of investment in businesses and an open immigration policy while over-prioritizing Canadian only experience there is a huge underemployment problem especially amongst highly skilled and experienced immigrants who would mainly wait to get the Canadian passport and move down south to the US where evaluations of international experience is more objective. Lots of low to medium skilled jobs. Dear Canada, I say this as an immigrant, if you don’t have enough high skilled jobs don’t open your borders or make it clear you want low skilled immigrants. That said, Canada is great country with minimal crime and is fairly equal. Problem is, it’s hard to get out of the rat race here.

I came to Canada 2months back with a job with an above average salary but already figured I can't stay here for too long as it's not a place to settle down unless you are a factory/construction labour. It's a beautiful beautiful country with so many amazing people. But people who are running this country are not passionate or caring about Canada rather to their capitalist masters. For every problem I hear that it's not clear whose responsibility it is, fed, state or city or district etc. If you love Canada why would it be so difficult to figure that out as it is not a country created 2 years back. And housing prices can't be fixed till a decade at least, as you can't expect to devalue the assets by half suddenly, so you have to wait till the inflation normalizes it.
