Post secondary institutions love foreign students. They charge waaaaay more and make that much more.\nThe response against more foreign students by liberal media is the threat that your tuition will go up with limits on foreign students.\nWhat about spaces? For every foreign student there's one less space for Canadian students.\nHousing is the biggest issue today.\nPrevious to Trudeau, the issue was the cost of detached homes in big cities going up but today it's insane rental costs across the board that no one can afford.\nI have been dumb founded as to why after decades of predictable increases and stock suddenly, year after year, cost went up dramatically as stock dwindled.\nI see the same places available, no one's tearing down masses of cheap 70s built rentals so what happened?\nThen I saw the immigration numbers. Canadians aren't having kids so who is taking all this housing? It has to be immigration.\nClearly, it's time to turn the taps down and allow housing stock to catch up.\nThe ripple effect is that no one can work an entry level job in the city. Who can afford a minimum $1000 month on minimum wage? Even at $20 hour, everyone is hiring but no one is filling positions in cities where there's nowhere to rent. Even these way over priced rentals, a bedroom in a run down house has line ups to rent at $800 month.\nThe only people accessing affordable housing are people on the street or on disability who qualify for it. Low income workers are the most screwed class of people especially if single.

When you see movies set in the past at university's, students are always living in dorms 6 people to a room etc. Fastest way to build more beds is to build dorms, smash up hostels close to university's... big benefit in the international students paying more than local students, to make it cheaper for Canadians. Also the international students do all the jobs currently screaming for workers

I went to Conestoga college, and I wish your mon read my words. Canadians, should consider that international students are paying around 20k yearly to Canada Colleges institutions that are not offering better education than the one provided in their own countries for way less than 30k. Other developed countries, like Germany or Belgium offer the same programs to international students for around 8k yearly, but, the international students rather come to Canada which also offer an easier path to become PR. But then, they crash with the reality and they realize that even many Indians can't speak proper English to be competitive in a Canadian College or in a Canadian company. Unfortunately, Canadians educational institutions know that the English spoken by international students is not enough but, they send them an acceptance letter from the institution so they can come and study in Canada. So, the real problem are the Canadian public colleges and Universities accepting people with a poor English level from overseas. Canada is a great place to be but, this kind of actions make their productivity poor which is in reality the problem behind the bad economy development when compare with similar developed countries. So, your mon should first blame its own country policies and educational institutions rather than international students for that kind of behaviors when they are students. Also, you should put your self in their shoes, learn German and go to Germany and see how easy is to manage to get a waitress job only in German in a city like Cologne. And then remember that this international students are bringing 20k from their countries economy to Canada each one yearly. Know, think how many Canadians bring 20k yearly to India or Nepal... Taxes are way too high, municipal, provincial and federal. It also feels like we're getting nothing for it. I shouldn't be paying $300,000 in income tax and I can't even see a doctor.

I had major problems finding a job, even as a waiter, when I moved from Germany in 1990. I was so depressed. When I saw the poverty on the east-side of Vancouver I was shocked. Now 30 yrs later I see videos of the east-side and I cannot believe how worse it got. I am glad to live in Germany and Japan!!!!! Thank god!!! I have the money now to rent a motorhome in Canada and travel around for 4 weeks there, because I have money and time to do that. No way to do that as a regular canadian.

in the morning when you wake up, reflect on the day ahead and aspire to use it to keep a wide open heart and mind. At the end of the day, before going to sleep, think over what you have done. This is my 13th year in Canada, I am so sad to see the change, I really hope it will become a better country again with Trudeau stepping down. But we also have to be fair that there are not many countries become better since COVID. Many of you leaving or planning to leave Canada are more like rich country retirees taking advantage of the wage and currency differences between rich and poor countries. So let’s put it this way, if many of you have not worked your whole life here in Canada, will you still have a quality of life in your home countries, such as Southeast Asia or South America? I doubt majority of the population there is make a good money and having great work life balance, and everyone there could afford a decent retirement life. what is more close to nowadays reality is people coming here and hoping they could have a better paid job and settle down here, but most of them found out they are struggling to even maintain their normal life in this country, so they left. For those who came years ago, they made a saving which may not be enough to support a good retirement life here, but is more than enough in other countries, they also choose to flee. Then those successful immigrants will stay here with the option to travel anywhere they want. My son's classmate's grandfather immigrated to Canada long time ago who later become a well known cardiologist and was rewarded as one of the top 25 immigrants Award, all three daughters are now specialists too. I really hope Canada could rise again!

That's why Muslims should live in Muslim countries not live where Muslims want to change our life choices. And I know that it was hard for Jews to live in Muslim countries, that is not a debate. However, the quality is rather inferior to HKG or even in Maindland China. The Dentistry is not free, by the way. and other specialist, such as Protates (Yes, for aged man like me ), the quality (cure results) are really 2 levels down. To my disappoiment. \n\nThe Taxes and service charge make up the bill almost 30% extrate, while in in NY State, it could be half of it. \n\nTThe Canada now is NOT a country, it is another state of America, Canada has been administrated as a genocide government but it keeps barking on the world about others but seldom think about herself of all the wrong doings. When I moved from Canada, back in 2002, I couldn't believe how Canada was talked about. People spoke as if Canada was some dreamy, perfect world. It didn't resemble the truth in any way, even then. People of other nationalities believed such outlandish things about Canada. I realized, suddenly, that very little truth was reported about the country. For me, once I reached adulthood (1990s), I knew I wasn't living in the country I had thought Canada was. Even then, it just seemed that whichever province I moved to, people were just barely getting by, yet were strangely content or complacent in life. It was generational, social conditioning. Many can't see beyond it.

Toronto has become a big injection center for drug addicts, that's one of the reasons I left Canada. It was so depressing to see that everyday downtown Toronto or pretending not to see them but the fact is, it was way too depressing and I didn't want to see them anymore. Also, places such as Moss Park have become a shooting place at night for no reason so taking a walk in the park' without taking big risk wasn't an option anymore. Not to mention the cost of living for such a bad quality of life, barely being able to afford buying some basic products such as milk or vegetables. Canada has become so bad. So glad I left and I don't regret it for one minute. There are so many better and friendlier countries out there.

I want to give a different perspective. I'm from Singapore. My entire family was here and they have moved back. My sister moved back first because my British brother in law could not take the cold. My brother moved back because he wanted to make money and be rich. My parents moved back to be close to their grandkids. But no way will I move back. Constant heat strokes from the weather, materialistic and shallow people, preference given to married people and families, lack of hinterland and nature, lack of winter sports, and poor LGBTQ+ rights. I have not lived in Singapore since I was 18 and I am also childfree, with no intention of raising a family, only travel locally, and am not into the acquisition of commercial goods for gratification. I love going on roadtrips and skiing every winter and playing hockey year round. I like that I can marry who I love here and can acquire a home without needing to be married. I understand how people who want to make money and raise families would see the brighter side of other countries, but Canada, despite its flaws, is my brighter side.

life in the u.s. is way better. if you look at all the major cities in canada, they are in close proximities from the major u.s. cities, which means is that the economy in canada is very dependent on the u.s. so unless canada will find ways from getting out of the u.s. influences, which i don't see why should even try that, life in canada will never be better than the mighty next door neighbor, and the same thing goes with mexico as well

Im all for people moving to a better place but theres proper ways of doing it. I live in NYC, and have been to Canada at least four times, but the last time I was there was quite some time ago. I always had a good thought about Canada, because it seems like some of the problems we have in this city, Canada also has in some way. Right now the city is a complete mess; at post pandemic and with a bit of a recession and a noticeable increase in groceries to basic things like cat food and tissues. That's not the biggest problem, it really is the legislation or lack of for people who not care for themselves. Those homeless people are almost not helpable and I don't feel threatened by them, but other people definitely do. The way the government has handled these undocumented migrants is a complete disaster and couldn't have come at a worse time. We have a serious housing crisis as well, and people can end up paying for high rent, for not the best places, but they want to live in a certain location. The migrants are coming in at about 60k in the last two weeks. You see mothers with little kids or babies selling candy all over the trains and it's becoming too much. Many see it as a form of child abuse or exploitation and we do not respect it at all. I think they feel we are weak and will just pay double for something we don't need. At one station today I must have be approached 3 times and interrupted 2 times while using my phone. It's just too much and we already have a lot of immigrants here, so I'm not sure where these people believe they will find any meaningful employment and the cold is coming. I wasn't born here, but came legally as an infant. I think the border situation is a disaster and it's obvious to a lot of people that the government lets things happen that will definitely effect citizens in the next couple of decades. The city is crowded enough and I do not know where this is all going, people do not want undocumented migrants house a few hundred feet from a childrens school. I just don't understand how they let this happen....I guess this is how Biden does things and all the groups that cheered buses pulling in when it first started are dwindling down....they just want them passed on to someone elses responsibility, but wouldn't want them as neighborhors necessarily. It's a lot of hypocrisy here. Canada seems better in some places, and the same in others.

Assalamualaikum :) We couldn't resonate more in terms of what you're planning for. My wife and I have been in the same boat and would love to see what options you come up with. With all the points you mentioned in the video I definitely see Qatar and Malaysia as better options in terms of the Islamic way of living, influence of western culture and their geo political stances on the recent matters.

Having done a similar voyage, my two-pence is that, resources permitting, at least until you have really properly tried the other country out for a period of time, I'd recommend retaining a base, even if a small one, in Canada, leaving your longer term stuff there rather than packing everything that you own and dragging across the world. In my experience, the most enhancing and liberating situation is one where you get to enjoy the privilege of being able mix the best of the two worlds. When abroad in the other Muslim country you will have great moments but - guaranteed - also a fair share of disappointments and negative experiences. Even if you think you have thought of everything, you don't know what you don't know, or how you may feel, or what and where is better, until you've spent a longer time over there. I could write a book by now but will just leave you with go, explore, see, try, but ideally have an easy way to come back to Canada to regroup (to potentially try again, better and differently with a bit more experience). Danbury Connecticut in USA area I keep seeing new Muslims base restaurants open up. Also you close NYC but far enough. Also known where Catholic Priest, Rabbi's and Imam get together and panel discussion, about issues. However, just in one high school in Danbury over 100 different languages are spoken. Do we have people that prejudice yes, but in general they dealt with. In general I feel people here like you do you, but pressure us in your way other than pressure we press back on pressure to do things your way.

Canada is best place to live, I am also Muslim AH, never face any sort of discrimination. i moved from Dubai, and the place where i live i can see more hijabi womens than Dubai. Even my kids pray in public schools no one stop them. This is one of the best diverse country, where everybody respect their religion. Can't agree on inflation part either, just came from US from vacation, i must say we have better Halal options and prices, all things are way too much compare with Canada. Regarding your weather point, that's the story in most of the countries, Middle east is so hot(UAE, KSA, Kwait etc), you can't do any outdoor activities over there, except shopping in indoor malls, same like winter here. Even in US also there are only few states where you can find some ideal weather, apart from that all states are extremely cold or hot....

I was a student at university when I first met practicing Muslims and during my year abroad in Canada I got to experience the Muslim community and made the decision to accept the truth. It actually makes me sad to see that Canada goes down the way you described. I like the Canadian people and have beautiful memories from the time I spent there. \n\nAs a European Muslim I also started considering hijra. But my case is a bit complicated: I am the caregiver of my two parents who suffer from ALS and dementia ? As they are totally dependent on my presence, practically I cannot leave....but I also feel the negative things as you described them for Canada. With maybe one exception: our winters are milder and I enjoy our summer. When I travelled to Saudi ,Turkey and Morocco: I liked all of them, but the weather was just too much for me ?

I am happy to see Muslims from the west making Hijra. May Allah make it easy for you and all the brothers and sisters who have the same decision as yours. May Allah make way to the establishment of real Islamic country which is safe for Muslims to live .

Hello Saleh family, I have been following you for over two years now; I am not american or canadian but a physician and mother of two from a third world country in the Caribbean. I started following you because I was curious about the muslim faith and your way of life. I started following different muslim people (and jewish, vegan, homeless and more... basically anybody different than me) and after some time I saw that we were all humans in search of the same things in life. I completely agree with your decision of moving but was very disappointed in your comments towards the drag community. A person in drag reading a children's book is not indoctrination. A person in drag reading to kids is only teaching them acceptance and tolerance (exactly what you want the world to give to your girls who most likely wear a Hijab). A person in drag is an artist who finds joy and self worth in certain clothes, hairstyles and makeup... it is a person a human person with the same value as everyone else. It has nothing to do with sexuallity or sexual orientation... if we truly want freedom for Palestine, if we truly want to change the narrative and to prevent 75+ years of brutal occupation and racism ever happening again; we have to change the way we see our differences... is not enough to ignore and respect people who are different: we have to accept them and recognize their humanity and their worth; to value and foster acceptance and integration in the younger generations... that is the only way forward, that is the only way we will all secure a better future for our kids. A person could say the wrong thing in the most articulate way. We must look into his statements that the people are unable to live in peace. What policies does Hamas have for the region. Who is UNRAW and what policies do they have for the region. To blame the Jews is the easy way out but doesn’t solve the problem. Aside from this war Palestinians, lebanese and Syrians are never welcomed in the gulf countries with open arms anyways. For example let's say a palestinian persons family works and live in Kuwait and they want to visit their family whether it is their parents etc, the Kuwaiti authorities will force them to apply for a visa the long and hard way through the Kuwaiti embassy. However on the other hand Canadians, Americans and British who are strong Israeli supporters are allowed to enter these same gulf countries with ease in a visa on arrival basis. This is not even to consider war. This is generally speaking. Can anyone see the hypocrisy of the arab world here in regards to the Palestinian cause as well as the other fellow neighboring countries?
