Partly a reason this country has really gone down hill. It's absolutely insane now

Wow this is just insane, I really feel so bad for the landlord. Thats why it’s so hard for good tenants to get a rental place because of scam artist like these.

41k for an apartment is very extreme there should be laws to keep under 41k. people who are charging 41 for an apartment are the people who hurting our economy. People are charging 41k for apartments is helping to drive insane housing prices up. People are charging 41k for apartments making it possible for a 2008 housing crisis style accour in Canada.

Ridiculous, 2nd biggest country in the fkin world and it has population problems. Is it the immigrants' fault? Or something else behind this? I'm an immigrant from Vietnam. Am I part of the problem? I've worked my ass off in this country, paid insane amounts of taxes. Do I not deserve a place? I came here alone, not with a village. But some people are doing that and causing major damage. And I get bunched up with them and have to suffer the problems I did not cause.

While that’s an insane amount to be behind and still living there, this wouldn’t happen as often if we fixed the damn housing crisis. Yes you will always have bad apples but I’m sure a lot of the people in similar situations are actually good people that are struggling to live and have got themselves into a bad situation. Not everyone has family to fall back on if they get evicted. I’m not saying that’s the case here either she could be a complete criminal taking advantage of the system but be easier to weed those people out if there wasn’t a housing crisis.

That is insane . Shame on the freeloaders who cry because they can't pay up . Don't get me wrong, I'm on a disability and live in subsidized housing but I would be uber embarrassed to be against an eviction and just avoid my responsibility . The housing crisis is here too , BC, but that condo looks pretty upscale and far out of most people's means . I feel badly for the landowners who shouldn't be made to support those who can't.

I'm an immigrant to Canada. I've been here for 35 years (came here when I was 6). The current immigration/migration/ayslum seeker rates have gone completely insane. It isn't racist to think it's gone overboard. I went to very very multicultural schools. I grew up in Toronto and have lived downtown for 20 years now. I love our multiculturalism but there are limits to immigration if there simply isn't an infrastructure to support countless hundreds of thousands of people trying to move into the city each year. It's not sustainable at all. The roads aren't getting bigger, the housing zoning isn't getting easier, new hospitals aren't being built. You cannot try and cram 4 million people in a city built for like 2 million people. People moving to Canada simply do not realize just how absurdly expensive this place has become. What's the better alternative being poor in India or being poor in Canada? Because unless you are making 100k a year you are going to basically be poor in Toronto.\n\nThe big big difference as someone who has lived downtown Toronto for 20 years is now the homeless are very multicultural. 10 years ago it wasn't like that as much. Now people from every race and every background are at risk of homelessness. It's a rate race, it's a very competitive city for housing and jobs and as soon as you aren't in making $$$$$ you will fall behind.

I agree with this feeling shared all over. No, for now Canada don’t need a lot of people. The country need to fix this housing problem and fix its immigration policy. It’s insane to see people paying for 900$ for shared bedroom, this is crazy. Fix it first then later you’ll scale up the immigration process again.

There were a few years of very low immigration during Covid. It is the Covid-policies that have crippled Canada to the extent that we have a lot of catching up to do on construction and to undo the insane money printing that was done. Then we should be back on track for 100M Canadians.

Oh ya, and i have PRIVATE health insurance that covers a PRIVATE VIP room, and sleeping area for family if something happens.. for wait for it...$50 a month.. FIFTY CDN DOLLARS AS MONTH PEOPLE!!!!!. you are all insane with STOKHOLM SYNDROME if you stay in this communist country. Also you are capped here to 10% income tax as a foreigner.. thats if you even PAY the tax.

In a nutshell. When the immigrants outnumber Canadians it ceases to be Canada. When more money and support is given to foreigners than Canadians that have paid taxes for their whole lives it's a travesty. Newly landed immigrants have more opportunities than my Canadian born children even though I have paid an insane amount of taxes to Canada my whole life.

It is absolutely laughable that anyone would ignore the degradation of Canada thanks to the insane immigration policies that are both exploitative and predatory. I work in a field where I speak with hundreds of Canadians a month, and the ratio of immigrant to Canadian born individual I speak to is 4:1. The problem is NOT with the immigrants but the policies, and those of us who work and pay taxes who essentially support the integration/lifestyle of some of these immigrants should NOT be shamed into hiding for expressing our concerns. Canada has to reform all immigration policies immediately. Let’s get housing, healthcare and public services in place before we allow hundreds of thousands more people into Canada.

I immigranted 30y ago. Was at Grad school at Canadian university. The level now is insane. So many are low skill. Doesn't make sense.

Its insane that my generation will probably never own homes or generate meaningful wealth because a few dumasses in D.C think that its our country's obligation to serve everyone but american citizens. Banks benefit by having more deposits from newcomers. Corporations benefit cause people from over seas will Work for less. Government benefits cause every newcomer needs to pay 1000s of dollars for different fees like drivers licence and health cards you name it. We are not nice, we are passive aggressive, we love foreigners who come to this country to launder their dirty money in real estate (up up go the housing prices), the RCMP is the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (not patrol) and Mexicans who have no previous ties or status in Canada DO need a visa to enter. Canada has accepted an insane amount of Uber / amazon driving immigrants over the past few years to boost the GDP, unfortunately our infrastructure across the country is lacking. We don't have enough homes, schools, hospitals, doctors, good jobs for the people that are already here. Immigrants are conned and sold a lie, going to the USA only makes sense. Both of our countries need immigration reform.
