I earned my permanent resident status back in 2001 and joined US ARMY during war in terror and served for 8 years. While serving, I was deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan in the middle of hot zones, dodging grim reaper's radar for many, many times. When I finally earned my US citizenship through military, I seamlessly transitioned into law enforcement career in New York for past 10 years, which I encountered with many illegal criminals with rap sheets- which some makes you think why they are still wondering in the street instead of locked up in the jail, having their freedom taken away. What is funny is that many of these illegal criminals have such an entitled mindset that they are deserve to be here in US without permit do whatever they want and enjoying these unbelievable benefits that these sanctuary city/state provides that we, us citizens don't even get- and we are paying for it with our hard earned money. I think I earned my citizenship with blood and sweat, same goes to many immigrant hopefuls that came to U.S with true American dream. It is time to take back our country and I 100% support with Trump's decision on this.

Immigrant families who are here should probably have conversations with their children about the possibility of being deported together and what that could look like; now is the time to have a plan, not the time to sit and wonder and wait for the inevitable. As an American I had great love for Indians while growing up together in school. After we graduated I even travelled twice to India ( Pune, Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai) for vacations.\nHowever, my experience in India was unbelievable. \nAs a young American at that time I never believed Indians could have such horrible characters even when my parents and close friends had told me about it earlier.\nAfter my experience in India I decided to pay closer attention to any Indian I came across in the US, and surprisingly i discovered Indians are not only very corny by nature but are also very self centered, greedy and selfish kinds of humans. Although not all Indians, but 8 out of 10% naturally have this character which is disgusting indeed.\nFor a long time most people never noticed that about Indians because they pretend to be quiet and mostly gentle. One time, I went on 1 day business trip to Canada ( i have American Citizenship, but born in Europe). My parents were both born in the states and my older brother was born there but they moved up here when he was a baby. So nearly all my extended family lives down there and I’m a duelly. And my experiences discussing things with my cousins or visiting absolutely could be described as culture shock at times. The insane things that came out of my own cousins mouths when they hear our friends or partners of various cultures , our not understanding how big a deal and incredibly insulting apparently it is to have assumed someone American was lgbt lol the list goes on. I’m an American citizen who was born in the United States (Hawaii). Everyone has the right to support or not support President Trump’s plans for mass deportation. The interviewer asked this Mexican American woman her opinion and she’s entitled to her opinion. There are a lot of Hispanic people who agree with Trump. I don’t think she’s turning her back on her family by saying “it’s okay” if they get deported. I think she’s respecting and supporting the rules of Immigration laws to have legal documentation to live in the United States. Rather than disrespecting and ignoring Immigration laws the way her family did. I think in a way she’s saying “it’s okay” her family gets deported because they deserve to be penalized for breaking Immigration laws for entering and staying in America for 20 or 30 years illegally which is valid and understandable. It comes down to the phrase “You commit the crime you do the time” whether it’s family or not. I believe she has a leg to stand on because she followed Immigration laws, received her Green Card and is living in the United States legally. If a family member of mine committed a crime and were put in jail or deported back to their country I would say “it’s okay” too. You reap what you sow.

I am really frustrated that Americans seem to be ignoring this situation. Trump has cheated, and both he and Musk present a troubling example. It's hard to take America seriously when they are compared to Kamala. The election was compromised, and Trump is one of the worst offenders. If this continues, America will lose all its global respect. It's disheartening to see how Trump has managed to undermine 250 years of progress in such a short time, and the responsibility lies with those who voted for someone like him—a figure who has incited chaos and division. If Canada cuts down on those selected immigrations but still takes in refugees, it’s only going to make anti-immigrant sentiment worse. Selected immigrants are allowed into Canada to help alleviate Canadian issues…or at least people who come through Express Entry are less likely to become a burden. On the other hand, refugees, given their unfortunate circumstances, really need to rely on a lot of social services and resources to help them resettle. The US has eliminated pretty much all non-humanitarian immigration that’s why immigrants are so demonized there. Americans only feel the drags of refugees and asylum seekers (even though ethically we need to protect them) and there is no selected immigration to balance that out. Yet this round of Canadian policy change is heading exactly that direction.\n\nIt used to be international students in Canada are not paying a lot more tuition than Canadian students. But Canadian universities saw how much money universities in the US are making so they asked the federal government to change the policy to enable them to charge international students several times the regular tuition (whereas in countries like France, international students actually pay less than citizens). So now Canadian universities rely too much on international students to operate and it becomes an exploitative relationship even before students step foot on the campus. The new PGWP eligibility is awful because students can make contributions in every field. It might (and that's a big if) address the pressing problems, but it won't help Canada grow.\n\nI thought the new language requirement was interesting.
