I have spent quite a bit of time in USA and I always find my experience split. For the most part the people and places are great. As a filmmaker I have shot in NYC, California, Mississippi to name a few. The people were always accommodating and friendly. One time a gentlemen and his wife that allowed us to film in his property would bring us hot chocolate at night, then offered to shoot anyone who got in our way. I was also filming in the desert in 2009 and I almost got shot in the face by a group of police officers that charged in guns out and tempers raging, before realizing that we had film permits and were scheduled to be on site. Only to have the crew say that if I was black they would have shot first and asked questions later. As tensions rise between Canada and USA with Trump's trade war and attempt to ANNEX Canada I think I will do my filming in other parts of the world, if not in Canada. I have plenty of American friends and know a lot of Canadians that live in the US. I just hope things settle between our two nations soon. Where do you live? Nothing new, especially from CNN(Clinton news network), who really hates President Donald Trump. These Indian illegal aliens are no different from Central and South American illegal aliens who were deported the same ways. After scrolling through all of those comments I saw everyone said that they were criminals so that they should be treated as criminals, well the PAB-trump is also a convicted FELON and he was never handcuffed or put in shackles. Well nothing like that, I live in Canada and can verify that. Problem is quality of immigrants, especially student is trash in Canada, Australia and Europe. They come to shady universities for studies, work full time both legally and illegally rather than studying and at end of their education, they have a fake degree with zero value. Just like most of the new graduates in India who have a degree with no practical value. \nIf you have a good degree, right skills in tech and some experience, there are tons of opportunities in Canada. I cuss Canada everyday but that's because I lived 10 years of life - studies and work in USA. So whether I move to Canada or any other country in the world, I would do the same as US has no equal in the world. I lived in US for 10 years, then India for 3 years and came to Canada 3 years back. I would still move to India after getting Canadian citizenship, but not because Canada has something bad or India has something exceptional to offer, but because I want to live with my parents in India. Thats the reason I left US but came to Canada to get a backup.

One point: you can survive with US healthcare *if* nothing major happens. I know of one case in the US a number of years ago where a young woman could not pee -- which is a major, major healthcare emergency -- and she had no health insurance. A friend of hers who did have healthcare insurance through her job let her (the woman with the major emergency) use her ID in order to get taken care of. That would probably not even be possible today, with computerized health insurance, but at the time it was a matter of paper ID.

Never, never, never would I move there and here are my reasons: safer, we’re not a gun loving society, nicer people, free healthcare, better education, less corruption, better government and we’re more compassionate and accepting of ethnicities, races and sexual orientation. My family almost moved to the US when I was 10 and I was crying my eyes out. We ended up not moving THANK GOD!!!

Can you blame them. The previous administration offered a premium benefits package to any and everyone who wanted it. It was a literal freeforall. Trying to overwhelm US officials, what would stop them from doing this at the US capitol and trying to take over?

The first thing I learned about refugees was that the country taking you is supposed to be a country that borders you we don’t border Venezuela so why would the United States be the ones taking those refugees? I don’t recall the US pledging to take Venezuelan refugees. I know we did for Ukraine because of war time.

Most Americans don't know that the trouble in Venezuela like most other countries south of our border, was more than likely caused by US interference. For decades our government has financed regime changes at the request of American corporations. Us companies take advantage of natural resources and cheap labor to get maximum profits at the expense of the other countries. Anytime politicians tried to look out for the best interest of their country and people, we financed any opposition that would disrupt their government from enacting change. Our tax dollars. Then, when immigrants come up because of poverty and violence, who can blame them? We all would do the same. Decades of under-funding immigration services and courts make it a years long process that most can't afford to wait for. America is a huge country. We have room. They aren't talking your job. And the vast majority are not criminals. But, the wealthy and powerful people need you to be distracted and have a scapegoat for you to blame for everything. Quit idolizing the wealthy. That includes either party.

People keep saying it’s racist and anti immigrant but as a former expat, you’re out of touch with reality if you think Americans can stay somewhere illegally or can overstay our visas and just live in the host country. Please, they would have been at my door the same day it expired. Idc where you’re from if you’re here illegally you need to go. Like it’s absurd that this is even an argument. Why are Americans so soft hearted on this issue? More of us need to live in other countries to see how other places handle it because it is definitely not similar.

The only people who are here illegally should feel uneasy. You’re breaking the law by crossing ILLEGALLY into the US. This would be no different if I was to cross into another country illegally. They would have the right to remove me from their country and face legal charges for breaking their laws. Unfortunately illegal immigrants were getting away with it under the Biden administration which has caused chaos in the US. Now Trump is having to clean up the mess it’s caused and hold people accountable for breaking the law. I have friends and a wife that all went through the legal process to become a US citizen. Lets keep i real. The desire that most immigrants have is homeostasis which is the familiar. All humans do this. Individually indians are usually smart and decent people. But in groups ( and this doesnt just include indians) you get this group thinking that is prejudice against anyone who isnt one of their own. Im fairly certain its a good demonstration of what a different culture would experience in their own country. This is especially noticeable in markem with the Chinese population. \n\nLet me say this loud and clear. We didnt let you come here so you could start your own countries inside of our country. And beleive me, your gunna get rocked and put in your place if you guys keep coming here and being disrespectful. Its that same inclusives mentality that keep the government corruption very small which empowers the citizens to make them successful and able to contribute more back into this system. The very nature of hoarding resources for ones family, same culture, etc are the same oppressive situations many of these people left their countries to seek better opportunities. But once given those opportunities and a chance to decide for themselves, a lot of these people use their liberties to create exclusion and hostility toward out groups. The indians do this in a very overt in your face way, the chinese are more polite about it but both have this way of looking out for their own and not being concerned with anyone else. As far as im conerned you should all be split up and dispersered to live in different provinces and cites. I know this isnt realitic but it would save them from what a lot of them are gunna end up be exposed to which is experiences with native born Canadians who are going to very rudly show you what happens when you disrespectf someone in their own home. \n\nThe party is over. Tariffs are consumer taxes on imports, collected from your own citizens, whenever they buy products or services from other countries. Trump said he would reduce taxes. He told voters other countries paid for Tariffs. They Don’t. They just lose sales, due to diminished demand. Tariffs are another way for the US government to tax its own people and reduce its trade deficit . It’s probably about time. USA has had a trade deficit every year, since 1970.

The reality of the situation is that while Canada’s retaliatory tariffs will hurt the US a little, Trump’s tariffs hurt Canada a lot! Right now we’re in a moment where Canadian politicians of all stripes need to placate the public’s demand for retaliation, however no matter who the next PM is, they will quickly and quietly be working to undo whatever factors led to this situation. That will mean acquiescing to Trump’s border demands among other concessions. Had both Canada and Mexico regulated the terms of our agreements better on “product origin” then none of us would be in this position.
