Nothing but positive comments on Canada. When you're welcomed in a country you're treated like you are. Black people aren't wanted or welcomed in the USA but believe they are. WAKE UP!

Black couple here...montreal is the WORST. We got treated like second class citizens there...almost hit by a whit guy. Menu thrown at us by a white woman....followed in a few stores ...never again. If ur not black or brown how can u say Canada is tolerant? Most of u may be but the few bad apples make it very bad.

Okay I will be first to admit as a canadaian.. yes canada has racism issues. No questions. Every country does in their own culture and society. And this is a huge problem. But having said that, I personally have not faced or may be was not treated in a face of racially biased way. In recent years, I do see huge changes where we have these occurence alot more but not to a degree to our neghibours to south.

If muslims in Canada want to make a decent life here they have to live by our open culture treating women and men equally.

I went to canada with my family when i was 6 years old i thought it was so beautiful the native americans treated us with kindness my dad bought me some moccisens there. A chinese immagrant restaurant owner was nice to us the white people many of them wrent very nice this was in 1969 in the summer but i loved the wilderness and wanted to go back and see the indians. I was a dreamer. Unfortenately and through my own fault after i got out of the military honerably discharged . I got a dui again it was my stupidity but i payed my fine did my jail time and got educated about not drinking and driving. It is not a felony i the US but it is in Canada so canada gets ahold of my driving records maybe they hacked in. And said i could not go into canada. I noticed they let george w. Busch in though oh well i dont think canada even pretends fainess under the law . Any way they are now letting elligals into canada and giving them a hotel room . The duplicity is absurd personally i no longer want to go to canada for anything i think the wall should be put on the northern border. When it came to our driving records there is no border does my information belong to a foriegn country? As US citizens do you think your information belongs to a other country?

Even is Canada nice, discrimination is wide spread. I am from Minnesota. I have never treated people like this. 40 years in retail. Maybe that is why these folks returned to buy from me all the time. I personally am sic about profiling. I waited on CEO of companys that grossed 100-500 million. It never paid to profile. \nBTW young white people in suburbia are about 20% more likly to ripe off a electronics store.

Now I hope you all see why I dont really talk to white people like that....I know they will treat me differently. And this is canada..imagine living here in the United states and it proves whites start and continue this racism.

Yes I ran into racial profiling when I wanted to ask why CBC is biased and won't report fairly. Being white and male, I was told that my opinion is invalid, and in spite of the taxes I pay for their wages, I don't have any say. Moreover, because I am male, CBC's supreme leader Trudeau has dictated I am not allowed any sort of platform. This is an important issue! Why do you think these sterotypes are so prevalent CBC? Crime statistics? Day to day crime by certain groups? CBC hates the question why because it conflicts with their bias as mandated by identity politics. Once I can walk through any place in Canada and not simply see, with my own eyes, the obvious differences between people based on color, or am treated like a direct decendant of slave owners by our state run media, maybe then the forty-thousand years worth of tribal cues ingrained in me will change. Are there really no examples of white men changing the narrative? No exmples you can provide for us devils to follow? No studies on private donors who are trying to help? Maybe it's time for me to stop, as there is absolutely no recognition of my attempts to make changes. The withdrawl of financial support is now my protest against your bias. CBC-peddling division through diversity indoctrination...but you've got hip, edgy music and have vilified the evil white man so there's that...wicka wicka wack yall...

How come the Canadian government treats these illegal immigrants better then they're citizens. I commute to Canada three to four times a week and I see homeless Canadians why they don't have shelter? And they do? A nice fucking car? Smh

Wow, you're Canadian and get treated with this kind if respect and the government claims to vote for them because our Canadian lives are valued and they look put for our best interests? Has anyone really looked at all the Damn loop holes we have with *SO MUCH FREEDOM* its actually backwards! but they word it in such way and make it sound so confusing where we think they do have our best interest. REALLY ALL THESE RULES ARE ACTUALLY KEEPING US CONTROLLED. we do need the government on some matter to ensure we live by *GODS* rules not to originate their own rules to control us by. Canada is pretty darn good for this backwards talk, brainwash, diabolical plan. Look at the school or educational systems let lone bigger issues hidden in pages of pages by the hundreds of thousands rules we MUST LIVE BY. We all know its for their own personal benefit. We are only on this world for a short period of time we all want wealth ect. We all can have it.
So many ways to fix the earth and how we coexist with eachother in peace and harmony. But TILL THE WORLDS POWER OF LOVE OVER COMES THE LOVE FOR POWER WE WILL THEN KNOW TRUE PEACE!!

Shukar hai kisi ne sch to bola .Nhi to yha NRI's aese ho k aate hai jaise canada pe victory e krli ho.See now people realise what's the pain of doing labour. Here our constitution gives full right of freedom to move anywhere ,right to speech still people here like treat other state people like they are strangers came from some other country.North south walo ko north east walo ko ,eastern part states ko aur aap canada ja k meager jobs krte hai and showed like they are super duper cool.Hmare log to apne e brother sisters ka kam krte hai unke kheto me kaam krte hai aur jo yha se jaate hai wo geroin ka kaam krte hai .I know remittance play very important role in our economy as I am a economics student. But I just want to say give respect to everyone in this world to every people. Our indians are there just modern labourers and our brothers here traditional just simple as that .And after if somebody got degree there ,no matters how good you are at academics first they will prefer their own white race then our people which is totally fine because they are their own people they need their security first and I understand that.I have a friend there .He told me indian students also do illegal work like working on cash or more hours than permitted.Sometimes more of different type which I can't say .but you can't judge whole race ,caste ,religion on the basis of this.Same principle apply everywhere. But I love to see my people are exploring more and learning new things there .My intension is just respect everyone with love and dignity.

If you can't enter canada the right/legall way you do not deserve to be in canada and should be treated as such

Are we supposed to feel bad for this guy? After breaking US law for years he tries to glob onto Canada, spends $15K on lawyers, never learns even a smattering of English, and then laments that he is not treated fairly? Why would Canada want him and his brood? Back to El Salvador with him!

This lady (for lack of a better word) says that she is very concerned about the bill that Canada is trying to pass, but yet they're not concerned about how Islam treats Christians. How Christians are constantly being beheaded, treated and or killed in every part of the world. And, this is the religion of peace ? How many muslims have been killed by Christians ? Spare us the beef steaks. The Lord Jesus Christ is the one and only son of God.

Unfortunately the liberals are causing the problem and making people resent the Muslim religion by doing things like treating them differently then other religions making anti islamaphobic laws giving them more rights then any other religion and bringing it into schools in Canada there should be no religion in schools no praying no special treatment

It's funny, skilled and educated legal migrants in Canada usually goes to US to apply their trades/profession. While the opposite attracts Canada. LOL\nUSA rewards education, experience, and skill, even if it was acquired outside of USA.\nCanada is more socialist, but seems to devalue their educated legal migrants, put them on survival jobs and treat them like trash.\nSo that explains your question.

I m not a Sikh. But i want to migrate there. I love Canada. Because they accept migrants with open arms and don't treat them as a burden

As a black man I rather live among the white than among these so called punjabis...just look how they treat each other in India, the North Indians don't want to have nothing to do with South indians all because they are a little darker...in Canada here they would rather employ only Punjabi, and no other race...if an Indian girl married a black man look how they will treat her. They would kill her and have nothing to do with her...and then you all talk about how whites are racist, oh please cry me a river....I rather live among the white people than among some of you...atleast white would employ a black man...these so called punjabis hardly ever employ a black man...if you all dont want to mix why come to canada...canada is a multi culture, please stay in India please and thanks!

The hate and ignorance here is abhorrent. The thousands of asylum seekers entering Canada are fleeing from the United States. There fleeing from YOUR country! And what would you like us to do with them? Take their children away and lock them in cages!? How’s that working for you?\nBelieve it or not, Canada has a much more stringent vetting process for entry than the US. And a vast majority of these people will not qualify for entry. In the mean time, let due process take its course and yes, treat people humanly while here. \nI weep for a society that fails the poor and needy, it is by that standard that we are judged as humans.

As a Canadian I detest seeing my hard earned tax dollars going to this BS. If it were up to me I would have this traitorous pig hung like the sack of crap he is. He brought a bunch of Syrian Refugees to the my home Province (a.k.a State) of New Brunswick which is the most economically depressed area of Canada and the most taxed. Most of the people here struggle to find work. These so called refugees are being treated better with handouts than our own populace who needs this money and paid into it all their lives.\nCalling for a rebellion!

Trudeau...idiot, spoiled trust fund, groper, corrupt. It's bad enough two years ago he invited immigrants (mostly criminals) from the US into Canada but now he is spending our tax dollars to put them in hotels. Where else in the world can criminals be treated like royalty? Guess we'll be seeing more come in. Canada has become a joke. We need a strong opposition to put Trudeau in his place or just get rid of him.

Some justice for people waiting sometimes years to legally enter Canada. Illegal immigration must be treated as it is: Illegal. And really? 15 years in the US and not speaking English; not a strong case for willingness to integrate

growing up in canada, i felt left out in the blk community b/c i am a 5th generation blk cdn on mom's side and 3rd on my dad's - when other black ppl not canadian born met me - i tell them i'm cdn, but i always used to get the question - where are you really from - they were looking for me to say the islands - when i told them my paternal grandma was born in 1901 in canada - that's when the questions stopped. i've been told that b/c i wasn't from the islands, i had no culture in college, but a mbr of the black student society put him in his place i heard he got into a lot of trouble. i was asked what do we eat as in food as canadians what kind of music do we listen to - at our blk canadian weddings, the only carribean song played was hot hot hot by arrow - we played straight up r and b and motown. i hv been rejected by other blk men b/c i'm not west indian enough...it was hurtful. even with 'friends' they made of my cdn heritage but i used to think, why are you making fun of me knowing that my family and ancestors were in canada first - they were 1st generation - i live in the usa now and i'm with an african american man - he has never treated me as if i were different and he loves going w/me to canada. my parents told me it was jealousy on those ppl's parts - one guy i used to be friends with in college, when i went to his house, his mom was from the islands, when she met me - she said, 'you cdn ppl are loud' and that did it for me - i didn't date her son but when he met my parents, they never said any of that crap to him. in the usa, the african americans don't treat differently at all - my ex mom in law thought we were american but decided to live in canada - b/c she was surprised that blacks do live in canada. her other daughter in law's family were from the islands - but she gravitated more to my family and felt comfortable around them more than her family and this ex sis in law would brag about the islands this and that and she would make comments about my looks being skinny and such but it was jealousy - i didn't care much for her b/c she was very insecure. i felt once again, i was a young girl in college again - being around island ppl....i would love to meet drake and ask him did he feel left out and isolated because he wasn't from the islands - he makes me very proud being a blk canadian - his dad is african american and his mom is jewish. i still hv dealt w/racism not much with wht ppl, but with my own ppl - which is quite sad and on top of it-colorism, that also played a part from my family - being called pygmy, chocolate dip, nappy hair - it hurt but these so called relatives, they aren't all that anymore, they had hard lives as children...when ppl see something in you that is special and they don't have, that's when their ugliness shows -

Well, I am not going to generalize all people in the same category. There are good and bad people everywhere in the world but being first generation immigrant in Canada is really hard in every part of life. First, even you are fluent in English you will have an accent that makes big difference in your job hunting, making friends and get along with different people. Many times, I have been treated on the basis of how I look and on the basis of my accent.

Canada may only invite skilled workers but treats those that come here abysmally. I have worked with engineers from China, Russia. These engineers need to take courses to qualify for work in Canada. Many immigrants to Canada come as skilled workers but end up underemployed here in Canada. This ought not to be if Canada invited them to come to Canada.

I am actually shocked to see this information. I did not know. I travelled to Vancouver & Vancouver Island 5X. 2X with my African-American girlfriend. I didn't see any biased behavior at all. Of course, I was not looking for it. We were treated courteously on both sides of the boarder. My grandmother was held as a White slave for most of her youth (indentured servant) in Canada. So, I knew through her that it was one of the possibilities. I am sorry to learn of it. This is a great issue for Americans to get over.

I agree that racism exists in Canada in a subtle form. In my experience people would have more discrimination towards minority with foreign accents. I have heard from other people commenting immigrants 'this person has accent' and to me, it can be perceived negatively. Sometimes I feel I am treated differently because I have accent, especially at working environment. Few years ago I worked in school and my white boss put this on my yearly performance: Your 'emerging' English skills can have negative impact to children's language development. I didn't tell this to anyone but was very disappointed as we are a diversified country with so many immigrants, and this should not come out from an educator's mouth.

When we learn to look upon one another with compassion regardless of their race, religion or personal belief's and look instead at the heart of an individual, only then will we make strides to heal and to connect one another across Canada and the world. There's an overwhelming racism borne of intolerance for one another and intolerance is borne in my opinion often of fear. When we don't understand someone, we do tend to make up something to line the box that we force someone to live from but would never accept the same for ourselves. If you see someone being berated, being treated differently then you yourself would accept, you owe it to yourself and to the one being hurt to stand up and to intervene. When attitudes change, people change. Blessing's.

Race Space and the Law by Razack .Colour coded .A legal history of racism in Canada those two books had the whole story of slavery and racism in Canada . For those who are racist ,they should know their great great grandparents were refugees in Canada. The Native Canadians, opened their door doors and did not treat them with negativity. Racism is wrong.Racist are evil.

Thanks CBC for allowing Asha Tomlinson to work on this video. This is for all Canadians, but most for Black Canadians in Eastern Canada. Cities like Edmonton in particular should be highlighted in this type of videos for their stand on racism. Most cities in Canada are becoming more progressive on racial issues, but Edmonton remains a frightening place for Black people. My message to Blacks in Western Canada is that nothing will change without a challenge. We must stop gossiping about how we are treated and let expose this disease.

There is so much negativism associated with Islam and all Muslims get tarred with the same brush. They frighten us. Their dress is alien to us. ISIL and other groups do unspeakable things in the name of their religion. Their religion is too demanding. Christianity and other religions can adjust to scientific facts. We KNOW the world is round and there are other worlds, so far unpopulated, out there. Islam seems to demand adherence to its core beliefs written centuries ago and makes no concessions to emerging facts. Religion is the main influence in the life of Muslims and their Imams seem to have a lot to do with governance and education, instead of the separation of church and state to which we are used. If you come to Canada to live, then adjust to our values or leave, please. This doesn't mean that you have to stop attending a mosque but please discontinue the scary body coverings and start treating your women as equals, not chattels. Even some women will argue with that last bit, but why does a woman have to cover up and a man does not? This is NOT equality.

THIS IS A REQUEST FOR ALL CANADIAN CITIZENS THAT FEEL TREATED BY THE NUMBER OF MUSLIMS THAT ARE COMING TO CANADA EVERY DAYS. it is a shame to see those hateful comments while we pray that may God keep peace in Canada, when we pray in Mosques.\nI'm a Saudi living in Canada. I don't understand how we welcome Canadians to our communities without forcing them to leave their religion but we face that when we come to Canada. **Terrorism has no religion**\n\nIn the past, christians had some terrorist groups and it was crazy but it's ignorant to say Christianity is about terrorism! Now we have crazy groups but that's not us! they use the name of islam and they manipulate verses to do their greedy ugly work.\n\nBTW Canadians should feel ashamed, because they treat Native Amercians like shit, and they still do << quoted from white Canadians! \nthey took their land,,, took children away from their parents to foster homes. this is taught in Canadian universities in a class called Aboriginal Studies.\n\nturn off the TV and go read about islam. I have a white Canadian friend who converted into islam. and she is VERY happy about it.. and i have so many other non muslim friends... we love each other and care for each other.

How Muslims treat Muslims of a slightly different faith is evidence enough of what they truly represent. help for Syrian refuges is not coming from the middle east.\nshove you excuses pc people.\ncould you imagine Canada saying no to Britain in the last 2 world wars cause your religion is slightly different.\nCountries in the middle east who have the same language and culture as Syria but a different form of Muslim will not allow 1 refuge in, the Religion of Peace at work.

Blacks arent the problem in canada as much as it is in the US. There was no KKK here. The people that do deserve the knowledge is the Aboriginals. The government treated them bad and so did the churches. They are what the Canadian government should be addressing and not so much the blacks as they are just as equal as a white man in Canada now. Jobs for the government 1 year have to hire more minorities then another year females and what not. I cant speak for what it is like in the US but where I live blacks are treated the same as whites. There are some arabs that think they are the gangsters and hate white peopl for ni reason. I asked them why they hates whites so much and they said its because they are pussys. That aint no damn reason. If you disagree please enlighten me with your knowledge. And if you live in the US dont comment saying you know more because i doubt you were even taught a single thing about canada in school. But if you do know something please teach me.

My experience in Canada has been largely positive, with only minimal racial difficulties. As a teenager, I do recall some kids making blatantly racist comments, when I was the only minority in the room; but they were silly girls, popular and full of themselves, and most of the students who heard did not laugh with them. We all knew it was wrong. Another time I was told, by an agent, that a potential employer claimed she would not hire me because of my race. I did not hear these words firsthand, though, so it was impossible for me to verify the truth. In the end, I let the matter alone. Other people, I realize, have endured severe injustices; such have not been my experience, but this does not subtract from their reality. Indeed, racism does exist, and shall remain as long as there are imbeciles wallowing in the mire of ignorance, people who cling to an absurd sense of superiority for lack of something more meaningful to hold. As well--and it must be said!--quite likely, we all have, at some point, entertained discriminatory thoughts. 'Tis not a 'black and white' problem but a human one, and we must be mindful of it beginning with ourselves. Canada, then, with its many inhabitants and complex history, will never be the exception. We can't expect perfection among people, here or anywhere else in the world. Even so, I believe there are enough fellow Canadians who strive to treat people as individuals and are happy to make friends across cultures. My life has been and continues to be a testament to that! Whatever our troubles, we still retain a proud heritage of diversity and progressive ethnic harmony. We do try, and for this reason I love my country. I am deeply patriotic and immensely proud to be part of it!
