With the way Trump thinks these days I think Trudeau should inform our military to be on standby.

Oh Canada ??, strong and free, our country is already great and the best in the world. Hopefully, the USA will be great again someday but I think they need a new leader ,just saying.

Trump supports a dictator who lets children and babies die and wants to wipe out an entire country. He is opposing all of his allies for Putin. Putin will get money again. He is sacrificing parts of Ukraine and Putin has no need to fear punishment. Many countries were allies of the USA. We fully supported the USA after September 11th. People in the EU also died for you! I liked the USA very much, I spent my vacation there but I will not do that anymore, I will no longer buy American products. A dictator is being supported here and all our help to Ukraine for the past 3. years will be wasted! Trump will also restructure the USA so that he is the only king and no one controls him anymore. He want rich russians oligarch in the USA...That is how I think and feel... he s like Biff in back to the future when he owns all...From Germany! What is it about those that stick to Trump like flies to dog excrement (Fox news, JD “Howz my mascara?”Vance, Rubio etc), they are so preoccupied with ensuring their King receives respect and arse kissing? It’s as if the dismantling of all respect for their country and the deteriorating livelihoods of Americans (incl those of their own voters) is not worth a single word. I think the answer is simple. They know they work for a dictator and their jobs hinge on just following Trump albeit off a cliff.

There is no way America can survive four years of Trump. Both Trump and his yes man Vance need to be removed from office now. Damn shame that I think I could do a better job running the country--just not be stupid and ignorant.

The only reason for doing this i think is to have an excuse for trading with Russia instead. It’s not about fentanyl or unfair trade relation it’s simply an excuse to isolate allies and make them beg for mercy.

I know I will get attacked in the comments for this, but I grew up in the US watched many presidents come and go, and I have never seen the country that I live in turn so corrupt and evil in my life we have been lied to by our president. A man I did not vote for and it almost feels like it is turning into a fascist regime. I think it is time for me to leave and move to Canada because at least they know the difference between right and wrong. my family, a long time ago fled from fascist Germany and came to America because back then it was the land of the free it terrifies me to know that my family ran from that only to end up right back where it was before in the future my prayers go out to every American citizen and hope that you all rise up, right and left and independent and do what you can to get this dictator out of office. He’s only been in there not even two months and look how bad everything is already. United we stand divided, we fall.

Honestly at this point I hope he crashes the economy. That is maybe the only last resort the Americans will see common sense and turn against their wannabe dictator and his crown prince before it is too late. You guys voted a dictator in because you thought Biden somehow caused the world wide inflation. Well what do you think 25% of import tariffs are going to do.

How can anyone think this is about the Border. As a Canadian I worry much more about what is coming from the US; guns drugs people... our border never was the problem. This is about precious metals. Ukraine didn't give them to him so he doubled down on the tariffs.

As someone from New York, I think what we are doing to our two best friends, Canada and Mexico is not in our interests to say the least, and we're already seeing our electric costs go up in NYS because of this chicanery. I am with my Canadian and Mexican friends.

I’m am Ukrainian Canadian and over the last few days I see how the new US government’s policy ruining everything we all believe in so dearly: democracy, friendship, helping shoulder to those who needs support against the bloody dictators, and firing thousands of people without cause who provided cybersecurity, guarded fairness of your elections… all being flashed down the toilet. And I watch it being replaced with bulling those who is bleeding, stabbing the friends and neighbors, singing praise to the war criminals charged for crimes against humanity with unlawful deportation and transfer of 20,000 Ukrainian children into russia. Children?! And I want to ask you a question: will you be a silent bystander watching the world plummet into the hatred, redivisions of borders and the rule of heartless convicted “deal makers”? I think I know who he made the deal with... And to those who voted for him: do you still believe this will lead you and your country to greatness?? One single fact that both Moscow and Beijing celebrate watching what’s happening should raise your eyebrows and question your decision to bring this man into power. Instead of making America great again the fight for saving America just began. God help you and all of us!

I think Canada will be better off than the US with these Tariff’s. The US government is grifting their people while Canada will help their businesses. Trump doesn’t care about US citizens, only his own glory.

I think one scenario we need to consider, is that trump is going to whine about no one wanting to do business with him as everyone will retaliate after tariffs (trade war indeed), and that he'll then turn to russia for trading. It sounds insane, but this is trump, making the insane possible.

I was a trump supporter from the uk and thought he would be a good thing because of all the corruption and not caring about its people that was going on from biden . just like whats happening in the uk not giving a dam about its people from labour But i think trump has done some idiot things backing Russia like there hes best mate doing this to Canada. not sure how Canada imposing tariffs well over 200% (for decades) is being a good friend? I don't think Canadians know how much we carry you, not by buying your product, but by being severely ripped off by your government for your product. Lose the tariffs on us and we will reciprocate I'm sure.

As a Canadian I dislike the tarrifs and think they are harmful on both sides. What is keeping me awake at night is what we all fear is truly behind this. A plan to weaken Canada so that the US teamed up with Russia can take what they want from us just as they are trying to do to Ukraine. Elbows up Canada! ??

I don’t think Trump was truly trying to punish Canada because of fentanyl , or because of the illegal crossings. It’s just because Canada is more woke and more democratic. He’s just taking the culture wars abroad.

When you ALREADY have tariffs in place against the US you cannot claim Trump is starting a trade war. You started it. Now we have a POTUS with the sand to stand up for us not the world. Republicans understand that things will get tough. Liberals are already snow flakes that were in a melt down from the day Trump took office. We voted them out.
