Plus, he just stated that he's smart enough to suggest that Trump just put a 25% tax on Canadian goods for Americans but he also thinks that you are dumb enough not to realize that he just put a 25% tax on Canadians for American goods. Trudeau basically created the situation for these tariffs (open border to let anyone come here). He loves this as he gets to take the apparent moral high ground for the first time in his life and wants this speech to be the way he is remembered rather than years of failing Canada. I have to confess I don´t know much about the actual canadian politics. But this reaction of Mr. Trudreau was very impressive. As a german European I know we are together in this completely insane situation initalised by the pathetic performance of the Trump administration. But with Canada on our side, with a strong leader as Trudeau I´m optimistic that the european leaders will also unite and focus not on their differences but on the common interest to stop this destructive US Goverment from destroying the free western society.

I find it particularly effective that Canada is focusing on red state America. Kentucky alcohol is just one example. Prime Minister Trudeau is also targeting those issues that they can most effectively respond, like electricity in the norther tier, LNG (shifting to EU).
