Does Muslim believe that the ISLAM is the only true religion and all other religions are fake ? And one who don't believe in ISLAM should be Killed ? Who is the true Muslim...Shia/Shunni...or Ahamediya...Does Quran is the final book by God...what about Bible or Gita ? As Muslim are living freely in any democratic countries and follow there faith....can non-Muslim live in any ISLAMIC countries and follow there faith...As a muslim what you want to choose Shariya Law or US constitution...????????????

Psychology student here. In the interest of accurate information, I would like to point out some flaws I find with some of the studies in this documentary and question the conclusions reached. I understand that CBC Marketplace are not personality psychologists and therefore cannot be expected to produce the same quality of work as a scientist. However, I think it is worthwhile to think critically about the information in the media that we consume. I am also open to anyone who wants to engage in debating the contents of this documentary.\n\n\nThe following are some notes I took while watching the documentary outlining the individual hypotheses of the studies I think are flawed and descriptions of their respective accompanying errors. \n\n\nThere are three possible research questions, and thereby dependent variables, being answered by the apartment hunting studies.\n1. If there is no discrimination between the white man and the first-nations man, then they should get equal treatment, including quotes and availability, when apartment hunting. \na. Could the gender of the landlord be a confounding variable (perhaps men are more discriminatory than women)? \n \n2. If there is no discrimination between the white man and the first-nations man between Toronto, Montreal, Regina, and Victoria, then they should get equal treatment, including quotes and availability, when apartment hunting. \na. Could total apartments visited be a confounding variable? (4 in Toronto, 3 in Montreal, Regina, and Victoria) \nb. Could the gender of the landlord be a confounding variable (perhaps men are more discriminatory than women)? \nc. They only showed the black man apartment hunting in some of the trials. I am considering him out of the study for consistency purposes. The first-nations man is the only one who got unfair treatment in the footage of apartment hunting. \n \n3. Possible hypothesis: If male landlords/agents are more discriminatory than female landlords/agents, then the white man and the first-nations man will get different treatment at different Canadian apartments in equally diverse cities. \na. Don’t know all the information about the genders of the landlords/agents, not all the footage is shown, but the ones where they get ripped off are male. The others shown are female. The remaining interactions are not shown.\n\n\nThere are also some factors that may have influenced the racial bias survey and, in my estimation, rendered it scientifically unreliable.\n\n\n1. The bias survey and accompanying tests at the CBC attributed the differences between the studies to unconscious racism. What if it was just due to familiarity with certain racial groups over others? \na. The black participants had no bias between European-American and African Americans, supposedly indicating no racism, while the white and first-nations participants did, supposedly indicating racism. Is it possible that another interpretation of this result is that bias is a function of familiarity: that we are comfortable with the majority demographic in the geographical location we live in, as well as our own kind. Therefore, the black guys are less biased against black people due to being both black and living in a white majority demographic? \nb. The participants took the survey knowing the objectives of the researchers was to study racial discrimination. They might have influenced the answers they gave \nc. Whether the participants agreed with identity politics or not was a confounding factor that was not controlled . You can only be racially unbiased biased if you think that racial identity is a means of accurately viewing the world. People who do not believe in the existence of identity politics may answer the questions quite differently, which could be a different reason for the results.\nd. I took the study myself. The words that participants were required to match were a mix of adjectives and nouns. It is known within psychology that nouns have higher levels of imagery. This was not properly controlled and therefore is another confounding variable. \n \nAll the other studies looked fine to me. I welcome any discussion on my observations.

Many people throughout the world seem to have so many stereotypes about Americans. Whether it is good or bad there typically is some truth in a stereotype. Overall it seems like you are enjoying yourself and no matter what there is no place like home. I would think no matter what your current situation is you still miss Canada as I would miss the United States if I were to move to Canada. \nA couple things you mentioned in the video were not correct and as with anything there may be a little truth in the matter but yet still incorrect.\nThose who do not have health insurance are not charged or taxed $150 monthly. There is a provision in the affordable care act (ACA) that penalizes certain individuals who make above a certain dollar amount. The amount is either $150 or $300 for the entire year. I concur any monetary penalty against anyone for not having health insurance is outrageous. I could be wrong but I believe this aspect of the ACA was never implemented under President Obama and it was indefinitely suspended or revoked by President Trump. I also feel like I need to address your thoughts about the United States all about war. I believe the American people are like most other people and want peace and civility. The government and major defense contractors have differing opinions at times. Of course there is plenty of people who are war hawks but they are in the minority. Most of us are absolutely sick of war. We currently have been at war for almost 19 years. That's six complete world war 2's in their entirety. \nI think you were being awfully generous when you said obesity is on par with the rest of the world!! Unfortunately there is far to many fat people here and the problem is only getting worse because the media says be happy and proud you are fat. Celebrating obesity is absolutely insane and it sends the wrong message to young people. If a close one is fat of course I love them but I also tell them privately that they are a walking heart attack. It's more than OK to accept someone the way they are but as a friend or family member you doing them a disservice by not mentioning their obesity. \nI'm sorry if you feel I'm being to harsh or critical. i got racially profiled . i went to an up scale outdoor mall. Full off super wealthy White ppl . I was with my friends in a candy store .. i bought a sprite and told the lady to keep the receipt . i didn’t think i needed it . it was only like 2 bucks. Long story short an older lady who was in her 50’s about ( white ) accuses me of stealing tells the workers to chase after me . As i’m walking out . One of the lady’s grabs my shoulder and ask me if i paid for that . i said yes i did. she asks for my receipt and i told her i just bought a sprite and didn’t think i needed it She tells me to STAY PUT . i said uh ok. The sad fact on Canada, U.S and Europe, for centuries dominated of Christian faith, are slowly under silent invasion of Islamism. All students should understand before going to any country that only in USA AND UK country are the best to earn money and getting out money from there to india. Otherwise except these two countries none country is there in the world that you can make money there and send maximum money to india. Except these two countries other countries have made situation that whatever you earn there , you will have to spend in that country only. You can't save money to india for living good life in India. And it is good and thankful those countries where person after 18 years has go for job rather than being dependent on parents. And working in bakery with standing whole hours during job is not a new in those English country. They don't force to do that by law . This job is kind of that. Person has to understand job profile before joining the job . By English country law before you start job they will call you for induction and will explain what job you have to do . there are dozens of flaws in Canada's immigration system. I am surprised to see that a person who has not spent a single minute in Canada enters the country as a permanent resident . has not paid a single dollar in taxes enters as a permanent resident. has not played his part in Canada's society and doesn't know fuck about Canada enters as a permanent resident of Canada. it does not surprise me to see people commenting about residents living in Canada do not speak English. \n \nI will give an example of the UK here which is far more developed than Canada and have very high standards. first of all, no one can enter the UK as a permanent resident of the UK. even if their partner is British, they will still come to the UK on a visa. depending on how much their British partner earns, it will take 5 to 10 years for them to settle in the UK, provided they pass the residency test in the UK(which Canada does not ask for whether you are in Canada applying for a PNP or PR or you come directly from another part of the world). a person who gets in the UK as a student spends minimum 7 years, if he is not married to a British /EU national to get a PR, most spend 10 for a UK PR(known as ILR in the UK) provided they pass the test for English and life in the UK (citizenship test). in return, the UK offers to its residents what no other nation offers. canada is giving away residencies as if its a leaflet. it's easier to get a Canadian residency than it is to extend a skilled visa in the UK. I have lived in Canada and felt that standard of living in canada is not very high as compared to the UK. so if Canada offers easy residency to people, it is only because they also know they are not giving away something precious :)

In Egypt, were the population is 90% muslim, there are 9% christians, mostly were Coptic Orthodox Christianity, and they are living side by side with muslims peacefully without any violence or discrimination. There are many problems with anti-immigrant rhetoric and one of them is the classification who is and who isn't an immigrant and the question of when does a person stop becoming an immigrant and become a Canadian? A significant portion of people living in Canada are first/second/third generation Canadians and so, how do we classify these people, are they immigrants or are they not? And what of their parents/grandparents who immigrated, are they? It's very important to note that without their ancestor parents, all these first/second/third gen Canadians will not be here and they are now 'Canadians' today because we had pro-immigration laws. Also, the idea of accessing services is by itself, very problematic. I spent the first 4 years of my life here paying high tuition fees as well as tax that are used to subsidize fellow Canadians' tuition fees yet I'm not able to access any government services. Following graduation, I worked as a worker on visa where my tax was no less than an average Canadian yet government services were very much inaccessible to me. It was only after I became permanent resident, that somehow everything suddenly became available to me. I have been tax paying 6-7 years before I became a PR here yet all those years, I wasn't able to access a single thing yet somehow, after I became PR, I'm eligible for everything? The tax argument doesn't make sense at all. I will be eligible to apply for citizenship in like a year and does that mean now I am one of you, Canadians?

Regarding the girl who received less while wearing the veil than when wearing nothing/ a hijab: Don't get me wrong the things some poeple said to her were horrible, but i think its just natural that someone would be more willing to donate to someone whose face is clearly visible as they could be more sympathetic towards them based on their expressions and such. After all, would you donate to someone who was wearing a hockey mask or a balaclava? (I'm not implying that these are in any way the same, but remember that the Qaran does not state that they have to wear a full veil, just some food for thought). Some may argue that this intrudes on basic human facial expressions to one another.) Not only can people feel uneasy when they see someone in a burqa, but it can also be dangerous to the very person underneath it. The burqa isolates women from others and can hide evidence of abuse or assault. It advocates segregation of muslim women in public, which is blatant discrimination within itself, whichever way you look at it!!!

As a multi generational Canadian, I don't really care whether they cover their face or not. That's their choice. During my life I've seen all these different forms of conservative dress from catholic nuns, to Hutterites to Mennonites and these people are just part of the mix. What this is designed to do is to create a barrier between themselves and the larger society which is fine. I would never interact with one of these woman ever because the thin flimsy barrier makes it clear that she is not interested in talking to anyone for any reason and again this is fine. If she was with a man I would talk only with the man and completely ignore her and if she was with a male child I would talk to the male child, not to her. I don't normally chat with women who are strangers other than now and then in a supermarket line or whatever. This face thingy frees me from the need of chitchat small talk and I'm good with that. In any case we would have absolutely nothing in common.

I don't mean to be rude but how is burqa a choice? Why would anyone want to dress up in a black robe covering from head to toe, except eyes and sometimes eyes too? I know it's religious thing but how can one make it a personal choice to wear it? That too women? It's ok for men, they only have so many colours in their attire to choose, but women? Seriously? I think burqa should be for Muslim men who are ok with wearing the same colour everyday (in general). I like hijab, the head scarf, it comes in so many colours and it's so pretty, hijab makes you beautiful. Not burqa or niqab.

At its worst, muslims cannot police their fellow muslims. There are factions from within, the threat is the extremist who feel entitled to spread, impose their culture instead of assimilating to an accomodating country. What about the feelings and sentiments of other immigrants from non muslim countries? I come from predominantly christian Philippines, and get along well with hindis, East Indians and Europeans of non muslim background. All to often it is hard to get along with muslims, they talk issues which you can only say they have that victim syndrome. No wonder it reminds me of college days that, no one jokes around these guys as they are quick to anger and they tend to band as a pack of wolves. And pretty much it was in the name of their religion that they come together. Its the victim syndrome I guess that keeps them from Fitting in the Normal.

As a Muslim living in Canada, I don't see the harm in a woman wanting to cover herself, I wear the head scarf myself, but in my opinions I don't feel the need to cover myself to prove I am more modest or a better Muslim.  I believe everyone has free will and has the right in this Country to dress the way that the law has allowed them to.  No one has the right to tell someone how to dress, not even the Prime Minister himself.  Telling a woman what she can and cannot wear is oppression.  I truly believe that if Muslims want to live in Western civilization, then they should refrain from covering their faces because the face is our identity and People have the right to know who you are and what your face looks like.  You cannot vote with a covered face, you cannot cover your face in a passport photo, you cannot cover your face for your driver's licence etc... I am a Muslim woman and I say this.  It truly is a shame how the media is portraying Islam and the Muslim people as a whole, and it truly is a shame that Canadians have become so ignorant.  I see more ignorance and racism in Canada than I do in America and 9/11 took place in America.  If you want to know about Islam, learn about Islam from a Muslim, a Library, google Islam, or offer to spend a few days with a Muslim family for research to get a better understanding of Islam and Muslims.  As a Muslim myself I can understand the hatred and the ignorance because we act according to how we were taught and raised, and yes we have many extremists claiming to follow the Islamic faith.  These extremists are not only hurting Western civilization, but they are also hurting the peaceful moderate Muslims that value their rights and freedoms as Canadians.  I do not appreciate ISIS hijacking my religion, I do not appreciate Hamas or Hezballah hijacking my Religion because I am a very accepting person and a very open minded Muslim and to be defined by media as a problem or a terrorist is very hurtful and a shame.
