You need to put a 25% export tax on your energy, minerals, and oil. It will increase the price of everything in the US immediately.

The comments in support of us are great - and I would hope that the verbal support will translate into active measures such as trade preferences, trade deals, military agreements and all the other things we will need as allies with dangerous bedfellows in this strange new world order.

Yes this move does look like it could be connected to Putin. If Canada financially struggle then they can't help if needed with the war in Ukraine which is a plus for Putin. I think finally Canada realized that if they have friend like US then they don't need any enemy. You can't trust US at all and need to start open your market for global trade. I am not sure where the issue is. so, what happens when Tariff is raised the US people and importers are who will pay. So, if they need to buy they will pay. This doesn't make US reacher. Only lower sales by Canada, but if it's required goods then they will pay.
