The relationship between Canada and the US is because of Trudeau. He isn’t getting his way so he is making a huge mistake with his disrespect toward our Great President Trump. Canadians want Trudeau to step down. \nHow do I know? I have a huge number of relatives there. My mother was born there and my dad served honorably in the Royal Canadian Navy during the second World War.\nTrudeau is and always has been hateful toward Canadians. Canadians do not respect or like him. \nBy the way… we are boycotting CNN.

Take into account the fact that this guy arrested, confined, fined and confiscated property of his own fellow Canadians citizens and starved people out during the pandemic. Canada has not prospered but will thrive if they make the deal with America. Globalists are kicking and screaming all the way down.

Put aside party political differences, we CANADIANS will stick together, and to fight together. He will no doubt claim “nasty” Canadian behaviour like “Canadians are killing Americans by not doing enough on fentanyl” and that Trudeau calling him Donald is “unforgivable”. Canada should not only retalliate with tarrifs, but should challenge the lawfullness of American tarrifs under the GATT, the USMCA and in the US courts. The tarrifs are unlawful under American law. Canadians are generally refusing to buy ANY American goods. This should continue. America: you f'd with the wrong country.

It's too bad that Trudeau's Government did so little about fentanyl, also about our poorly-controlled border and destructive immigration non-policies for so long. Hence, driving Trump's scorched-earth policy (The Tariffs). That said, it blows me away that Trump was so vociferous about the Lawfare that was lined up against him in 2023-24, but he doesn't see that excess use of the power of the State is wrong and immoral in this Canadian and Mexican case. Trump only knows the right of might. Threats, coercion, bullying. He doesn't otherwise distinguish between right and wrong; only about what is good for him and his ego. The Tariffs will drive very bad business outcomes in the US. Including, inflation, and lost jobs. The Stock Markets are already tanking. At this particular stage, his ego will not allow him to back off, that's my prediction. Much pain for all Americans (and obviously for Canadians) will first have to ensue. Canada must receive its spanking, and Donald will have to save face. Ultimately, he'll invent some dishonest pretense to put the genie in the bottle, while the economic damage to all sides will be severe. But ... Why would he care?

As a proud and sane Canadian I understand most Americans are not in line with the current administration in this and I implore my fellow Canadians in joing me to remain respectful of our American friends neighbors and relatives. Please cheer for the American National Anthem and repect the American flag. Donald Trump and his phonies will pay for their stupidity. To all Americans please don't take retaliation personally, but it must be done to protect our Country and our sovereignty. Trumps tariffs have nothing to do with drugs and the border. It has everything to do with his insane dream of being the ruler of the world.

I just feel the need to apologize to Canadians. What Trudeau said was correct - we've always enjoyed amicable relations between our two countries. Some of my best friends are Canadians. As a European having lived in both Canada and the United States for prolonged times, my view is this: Canadians are basically the same as Americans but with Health Care. They have a common heritage and history and this is like a brother turning evil and hurting its siblings. Trump is smart? I don't think so, he comes across as a low IQ individual born with privileges, heck he has been bankrupt what is it four times? Right now he thinks he is making America Great again but instead he is on a path to bankrupt even the US Economy. These kind of things in history often have caused actual physical War and he talks about Zelenski is toying with a 3rd world war. Wouldn't it be funny (and not in a comical sense) if in fact Trump causes the 3rd world war with his actions instead?

From Ukraine with respect. A few decades ago our school hired a Canadian as a native speaker to teach us some spoken English. He was not very smart and made some grammar mistakes here and there. But what surprised me is how on his 1st day he tried to make a joke, smth. “We, Canadians, have nothing to apologize for, except for Celine Dion”. He startled to giggle, searching our faces for a sign of approval. There was none! We love Celine! To this day it astounds me how many Canadians badmouth their great singer or their own Prime minister. What is wrong with you? Like every Canadian I’ve met kept saying many unpleasant things of Trudeau. You should be proud of your prime minister the way you are proud to be Canadians and slow down on insulting him!

Canadian here....appreciate JT's message, and stand by him in this situation, but sadly know that our long friendly relationship with the USA does not matter at all to this administration. JT's message does not matter to that administration, or their MAGA followers. Fentanyl from Canada isn't a real issue - in fact, significantly more comes into Canada from the USA, along with guns, than the other way around - but that fact doesn't matter at all to the administration or their MAGA followers. Facts and logic are not involved in this. Canadians are quiet and peaceful people who are proud of their country, and we are coming together over this shared cause.
