I am a retired public servant who is heartsick at what our president is doing to the world. The red maga hat has truly replaced the Swastika..

I feel sick, sad, angry, and scared with everything going on right now. As a veteran, my heart is absolutely broken.\n\nWe're stuck between a rock and a hard place right now. The MAGA refuse to see or believe what's going on. They've been 100% brainwashed. The people in our government who can do something are standing back and laughing us off. It's very surreal. And very few of us have been able to save up enough to move. And moving to another country is incredibly expensive and difficult.\n\nI did not vote for Trump. Many didn't. Those who did are too proud to admit that what's going on is wrong. So long as it punishes people who think differently than them, they're glad to cut off their own arms to do so.

Trump and MAGAism won't last for ever. The real problem is that the longer this madness continues, the longer the US will take to get back it's power and influence. The rest of the world understands that the problem comes from an incapable and illiterate leader but it also understands that this could happen again. America might take decades to regain trust. The longer MAGA dominates the American people then the longer it will take America to rise back to it's former status. It is so very tragic. When America rises from the fire, and it will rise , it will be a phoenix of pride and right, but it will be a proud and righteous bird with one wing.

As an American who opposes - STRONGLY opposes - the Trump administration and everything it stands for, I am sorry for what our country's government is doing to the rest of the world but especially to our oldest, closest allies. \n\nThe MAGA faithful will remain faithful even as the prices of virtually everything goes up and up and our economy tanks. They believe what comes out of Trump's mouth no matter what it is, no matter how obvious reality proves him wrong. Those of us who know what Trump really is have known what he's really about since the beginning. He's about himself and nothing more. His every move, his every word is about further enriching himself and patting himself on the back for his greatness.\n\nHis election to a 2nd term (and maybe more if he decides to ignore our Constitution) will be written about in the history books and it will not be favorable. This is what he wants, though. He wants to be thought of as an influential figure. Well, he is that. But so was a certain little Austrian monster who is remembered with great shame and disgust.
