I guess trump's fans would say it is time to invade Canada and let it become the 51 state as what putin is doing.

It is time for Canada to fully embrace China and India as suppliers and business partners. \nChina can supply nearly everything that America can, faster, cheaper and a far better product.\nAmerica is a dying Country, thier citizens for years have elected the very same kind of people into their Governments. Old Stale Egotistical people who have no concern but getting re-elected.

We need our pipelines flowing to both the East and West coasts. It is time for Canadians to invest in Canada and cut our dependence on U.S. trade.\nAmericans need to start understanding, it is Americans who pay the tariffs. They are just a tax. I really believe that it just comes down to Trump feeling resentment that he will never be part of a perceived 'inner circle' of establishment world leaders. It's probably over that one time when they were caught on a hot mic dissing him with Trudeau kind of leading the pack. I've run out of patience with the American people too. America doesn't need there trade, both Canada & Mexico was only worth about 2.3% of their entire GDP. It's a bad thing for Canada but it's not going to effect America, you'll probably see a temporary blip but it'll be back booming even better in no time.

Plus, he just stated that he's smart enough to suggest that Trump just put a 25% tax on Canadian goods for Americans but he also thinks that you are dumb enough not to realize that he just put a 25% tax on Canadians for American goods. Trudeau basically created the situation for these tariffs (open border to let anyone come here). He loves this as he gets to take the apparent moral high ground for the first time in his life and wants this speech to be the way he is remembered rather than years of failing Canada. I booked a trip to Florida months ago. Long before talk of tariffs. If I could get my money back for the plane tickets and Disney tickets I’d cancel the trip in a heartbeat and spend that money at home in Canada. Canada has known for decades that we have put too many eggs in one basket - selling our resources primarily to the USA. We've had tariffs before and worked with them. Yet we still keep selling to the USA. This time is different. In conjunction with the tariffs, we have an American administration that is flat out insulting Canada. Saying we wouldn't exist economically if it wasn't for the USA. It's at a time when the USA won't promise not to use military force to annex land (Greenland) from a decades old ally. A time when clearly Putin is calling in his chips for whatever he has over Donald Trump. Canadians have had enough. We are directing our governments, provincial and federal, to finally, finally break from the north-south trade links. We need to establish stronger east-west trade links. The resources we have are wanted by many countries if the USA does not want them. It does mean much work within Canada. We need to get our AB-BC pipeline finished as well as the new sea terminal so we can ship our crude oil and natural gas to Japan and if need be, to China. We finally need to get out pipeline to the Atlantic coast finished so we can supply the UK and EU with our products. We need to double our rail capacity for shipping potash, uranium, rare minerals to Asia or Europe. Just as Trump hopes for a golden age of American companies coming home and building new plants in the USA, this will be a golden decade for Canada to create transportation corridors to get our resources to other buyers. America will have to look elsewhere for his raw materials. And we all know what that is - RUSSIA. They've already offered their rare minerals and crude oil. This is all clearly a well thought out scenario from the people working behind Trump to dismiss America's allies and trading partners - have us turn against the USA - as the excuse to open the door to Russian imports into the USA.

How truly sad and disgusted I am at Trump's attack on Canada, Mexico and all his allies. It is beyond comprehension that Trump is being allowed by the Congress and the Senate to trample on the Allies of the USA. I am in Australia and I feel the concern and the pain being suffered by Canadians, historically the like us, alllies of the USA, because of the treachery and betrayal by the USA, whilst supporting despots like Putin in its attacks on our democratic way of life. We are in dangerous times indeed. Where we end up only God knows. I know onr thing for sure God is not on the side of the USA in its treachery.

First time I’ve heard Trudeau speak the truth. Although it has been Trudeau’s economic policies that essentially brought about the tariffs- particularly the depreciating Canadian dollar caused by Trudeau’s policies. Not to mention Trudeau’s admission that Canada’s border was porous for drugs.
