Let's make Canada great again. Actually I'm kidding. Let's not go down that road. It's easy to poke holes, and cherry pick problems, much harder to appreciate the good things we have. Canada has problems for sure but every place does and we really don't have it so bad. Unreasonable expectations are just as big of a problem as high prices. If Vancouver is too expensive then go somewhere else. I did. Canada is a big place. Very big. There are loads of opportunities if you get out of the rut you are in and stop thinking that life owes you a certain lifestyle.

As much as I don’t like the guy, it’s misguided saying it’s only Trudeau. Is he the solution? Not likely, but it’s a start. The issue is accountability from the provincial governments who have low voter turnout, and are allergic to investing in diversified transportation or fixing housing, or immigration laws, and taxing rich people more and god forbid they update their labour and health system. So much of these issues were present for years before he was elected, because the country just voted to get out of the recession and cut a ridiculous amount of funding. The Harper years were terrible, people forget that. He wanted to ban abortions. That’s the future his party wants. I think they need a coalition government, badly and to turn it on the provinces to come up with plans before asking for money.

Most of what was reported here is true but the housing market and rents have skyrocketed all over the world since the Chinese government F'd everyone with Covid-19. At first there were supply chain issues with all goods so businesses said we have to increase prices. Once supply issues were back to pre-Covid-19 levels businesses did not & will not lower their prices on goods because , we as a society do not take matters into our own hands and boycott products\\company's etc. Now obviously we cannot boycott all goods & services but the majority we could and that is the only thing that would cause action among companies to lower bank fees, fast food prices, grocery prices, cell plan costs etc.\n\nWith that said, you picked two of the highest and most sought after city's in CAN to rent & or try to buy a home. Although rent & home prices have really jumped all over the world in the past 3-4 years, more affordable (still not cheap) housing, compared to Toronto, Vancouver, can be found all across CAN. My sister & brother in law found an apartment to rent in Winnipeg without any difficulty or waiting. \nThey are immigrants and entered on her student Visa & he is a computer programmer. They are not struggling to eat but they have to follow a tight budget since she cannot work but 20 hours a week as a student and they have 1 kid, a car payment,utilities, cell plan, etc. They have filed for their PR and I suspect they will be approved since his job is in demand and she will graduate from College there in 4 months or so.\n\nOne thing I noticed, when my wife & I went up to get them settled in, is that the government (national & local) taxes you all pay out of the wazzoo on everything! I think the only thing that wasn't taxed was air. ? I know most of this is due to the healthcare system, because the money has to come from somewhere. Don't misunderstand, I like the CAN healthcare system better than the US's, because the insurance companies stick it to us as well, but both have their pluses and minuses.\n\nCAN does have a much easier system for immigration. If my sister & bro in law could have come here we would have been glad for them to stay with us and help them get started but the backlog is just so long to wait (10 + years). I also LOVE CAN because you uphold your laws and DEPORT illegal immigrants instead of letting them pour into the Country, by the millions each year, and the majority eventually trickle into the population illegally, who get jobs & pay no taxes (other than sales tax) no driver's licenses or vehicle insurance and get 100% free medical and hospital care anytime while legal US citizen's pay high premiums, into social security and their income taxes each year.

Be thankful they at least don't cause trouble unlike in Europe and US where a certain migrant type is causing huge problems.Still as a non white i understand the white sentiment of having to see the demographics change so rapidly whether they are a peaceful lot or not.But it is a little too much to demand that acceptance by the host country means migrants should not practice their religion or build places of worship or keep cultural practices.That is too much to ask.The important thing is that they have not made any demands of their host countries unlike what is happening in Europe with certain type of migrants professing to a certain faith

I read a statistic somewhere that %60 of Canadians age 18 to 60 live with their parents because they are either unemployed (like me) or can't afford to rent an apartment. I have currently been unemployed in Canada for the last year and I keep applying to jobs but have never gotten so much as an acknowledgement from any of the employers I have applied to. I only need another 10 months of experience with an employer to get my license to work on my own; and I can't do it! I am thinking of moving to the U.S.A. I just don't want to be unemployed anymore.

I completely disagree with what they are doing as much as sharia law is perfect and a real punishment unlike the British so called punishment of leaving people in a free accommodation aka prison where they’re fed for free can have a Xbox in ur cell, tv and phones, stereo speakers and many more things that shouldn’t be allowed in prisons if they’re trying to punish people some people want to go to prison and will murder ur entire family to get there and yet in saudi u see people leaving their belongings for days and no one touches it, uk u leave ur bike for 7 minutes and it’s gone when ur back chain been cut off and all

The only reason India is lacking behind is because of it's abundant population and it was not blessed with self rule up until 1947 which kind of derailed it's progress by years thanks to European Colonization and discrimination. \nJust as an example for folks who are ignorant to see India as a third world or poor or poorly run country - \n* The way India handled Covid for 1+ billion people is something close to impossible for Canada with a meagre population of around 40 million. \n* You don't have to wait for months or weeks for normal checkups, MRIs, doctors and so on. \n* You don't have to pay $50+ per month for a meagre 10-30gb data instead it's less than $4 per month for 1-2gb/day data (yes per day)\n* The military budget of India is 66 billion dollars while Canada's is a meagre 26 Billion dollars.\n* India is capable of launching advanced missions in Space and has single handedly indigenously created aircrafts to land in moon and space exploration.\n* India has home grown automobile companies like Tata Motors (which owns Jaguar and Land Rover), Mahindra and many more while I don't see any homegrown automobile companies in Canada.\n* India has more than 170 billionaires while Canada has around 70.\n* India's richest people won't even bother to invest in Canada because it's not a viable market, but the economy in India is booming and will continue to do so.\n* Despite the population the country is managing in such a way that Canada can only dream off. Just because you had the privilege and the means to be developed does not give you the right to demean other nations. It's really nothing that you did, it's just pure luck, right place, right time, white superiority, destruction and so on which enables you to live such privileged lives and now you are crying when people are actually working hard to provide some competition.\n\nDon't you think regardless of race or ethnicity, every human being deserves the best life? \n\nBefore you judge a country do some research. \n\nYes, the people in general have a different thought process where in prominence is not given to space, way of living, probably you can put it up as standard of living and the quality of thought process. But that's always the case with generalization. I know it's hard not to when you see it, but being a better human is all about thinking beyond that. Yes people in India are general prone to having a shortcut process, at the same time, highly skilled people are abundantly present. In the information sector and other highly skilled areas, they are present earning loads of money which reverberates to more tax money for the government. \n\nI know that they have major issue with absorbing the host country culture and I believe that can probably or maybe alleviated by having some cultural programs so that they can fit into the society so that the Canadian culture is upheld. It's always difficult to see changes around you and your home being in your words being raided by foreign entities. Guess what? The world is filled with different ethnic groups. Hundreds of years ago all your native homes were part of the indigenous people here and they didn't even have time to complain or lament online when the Europeans butchered them and massacred their homelands, claiming the land and setting up as their own. Now you are in a position to call something your home and we all know what all your ancestors did regardless of how good you are right now. The least you can do is not comment such provocatively online against other ethnicities or is this atrocity still there in your blood. It's very simple. Try to think beyond frustration and be grateful for what you have. \n\nBy the way I can write more but I don' think it's worth my time but maybe positive things can happen if you put your mind into.

The crazy thing is that some Canadians still have faith in Trudeau's party or just have too much trust in the government that they can turn this around. I want to see this country prosper but every few months I just keep on seeing new policies that the current government makes that just doesn't make sense.\n\nFew things to mention\n- No more investment in more roads by the federal government (I understand they want essentially to have citizens use cars less but they haven't provided a plan on how that money would be invested? I have yet to see trains being invested to connect cities such as High speed rail?)\n- Increased carbon taxes (most premiers were against this but they negged it on)\n- proposal and voting for Increasing taxes on capital gains (impact business that invest in Canada)\n- This is a positive thing but also happened because they polls went to the dump (increased investment in housing) and then decrease foreign student admission for future years ( I think this is where liberals say they have hope, but it's at a point where they messed it up and now are trying to fix it to make it look like they are fixing someone else's mess\n- The government is also just adding more policies we can't afford such as Dental plans for certain incomes, food in schools while the free health care doesn't really feel worth the taxes when the quality is not there. ( This is how they want to be the good guys when the conservatives need to cut costs to help resolve this mess)\n\nThe liberals are kind of like that guy in the family that takes a loan, pockets some money for corruption, then gives money away to charities saying I'm the good guy, and then doesn't know how to pay the loan back so asks for their family to help fund the debt.

Back in the 90’s people were pushing to “vote for Clinton” - Husband and or wife because they wanted healthcare based on the “Canadian model”. Sorry to see Canada implode so quickly under Trudeau but I think what you’ll find south of the 49th parallel is that we move much slower towards our demise so people either won’t notice it or associate the criminal economic policy to the economic corpse. It’s called the Federal Reserve and the whole world has been subsidizing our orgy since 1913. That’s how slow this death spiral really is. Do what’s best for you. Be grateful for what little you have, enjoy your family, support them. The American dream is a nightmare. This is the day the Lord has made let us rejoice and be glad in it.

I find it ironic that the 2nd largest country on Earth, where 99% of the land is empty, has such ridiculous housing problems. You know something is wrong when you have so much free space and still people are forced to pay insane amounts to live in a shoe box

When I walk into the local Walmart I feel more like a stranger abroad because I don't understand what people are saying because they are all immigrants and refugees.\nI'm no racist, but having the government impose this on the population is such a disrespect. The health management situation was never fixed and we pour in multitudes of refugees to clog it even better. A few years ago clinics changed their way of getting an appointment because waiting rooms were overfilled with refugees! It's now so hard to get an appointment it stresses me out to no end! The silver lining in this is that I have not much more time to live. You can have the country. It's not mine. Things weren't like this in my youth!

Exactly , I am a minority myself but when my kids and I came back from our vacation in Florida I have exactly the same feeling .. did I land in India or Canada . I live in Richmond Hill ont and over here people of Middle Eastern descent is everywhere and even the welcome centre here is filled with them . I was here in the early 80s and so much has changed . What happen to all the white Canadians ??

I have to say that I am quite apalled to hear fellow Canadians being so openly racist--not to mention just plain ignorant. For any non-Canadians watching, let me assure you that the majority of us do not embrace or abide by these sentiments--we are for the most part a progressive, tolerant people who accept and, in many cases, welcome diversity and inclusion. We are, after all, a nation of immigrants--many of whom have escaped the oppression, injustice and intolerance that plague much of the undeveloped world--in pursuit of a better life. They bring their skills, hard work ethic and adaptability to a country that would wither on the vine without them. So, it's essential that we maintain meaningful and robust annual immigration rates to avoid the fates of countries like Japan, Italy, and South Korea: shrinking nations facing hopeless futures of economic decline and demographic collapse. We also need to maintain our pace with the behemoth to the south, or risk being utterly consumed by it. I hope and pray that most Canadians understand these basic truths--especially the younger ones. \n\nNow, I will admit that with regards to immigration and demographics there are always some logistical and pragmatic challenges that are part of any democratic, pluralistic society--of which we are, generally, a leader. And, sure, our government policies on immigration, employment, education, mental health, and housing need to be fine tuned to improve short and long term outcomes. But to place all of the blame on a single demographic slice of our overall makeup is simplistic, reductivist, dangerous and downright offensive. In a word, it is racist, pure and simple. Is that really who we are, and what we want to be? I hope not.

As a third generation Canadian who's parents and grandparents faced so much racism. It's interesting how things came full circle. I recommend you offer the Indians your hand of friendship, if you choose to hate us good luck, our family and friend circles are 1000+ we have all the houses and cars. You're done.

On one hand, they tell immigrants and students to come BUT… they have construction laws that are very stringent and inefficient (stupid zoning laws)! In france where I come from, we also have immigrants but strangely, we do not have issues with excessive rents (except in some areas of Paris) not do we have any issues with congested healthcare!!! This is why so many many of your newcomers decide to leave Canada after a few years… You Canadians have this tendency to “idealize” Canada sooooo much and from that way if idealizing (and not being able to meet what you say or advertise) comes the deception of many and those many skilled migrants to say “bye bye .. no thank you” to Canada! Canadians have this nonsensical idea that their government is not corrupt, I come from a very corrupt country and very quickly realized that they dupe them with the false idea of free healthcare and education…while they pay shit in almost all jobs and they have the highest level of monopolies in the world, Canada’s is governed by very few people that pretty much dictate everything that is why food, housing and every single thing is so expensive compared to other parts of the world….icbc should not exist, Telus, and all phone companies, trans link, loblaw is all a joke and they’re all corrupt

I’m 68-years-old and was born in Canada. I worked hard all my life. Now I can’t get a doctor. I’m told the problem is baby boomer doctors are retiring so not enough doctors. BS,the problem is the population is much greater than the resources needed to support it. Why are we bringing so many people into this country when resources such as heath care have been depleted?

You are overreacting. The city has so much to offer and all cities have problems but you live with it. I’ve lived with many cities in America that people knock but yet I love them. It’s all about attitude. I walk past homeless people in New York City, but I still enjoy myself. Toronto is a lot better than many American cities that I love

there is too much immigration so its a good thing if they leave for canadians. the housing cost a fortune now and its hard to find an apartment so its good if we can have more for us. i think many organization are lying to immigrants and keep them coming here. thats one of the problem for them. they dont say the truth about economy and the problems in canada. we can blame Liberal party and Justin Trudeau for the mess in the last years. there is a huge housing problem but he keep immigration level up without doing much to fix the housing problem.

I live in a majority Punjab community that also houses a lot of people from Africa and South East Asia. It also contains a lot of drug addicts and homeless people, mostly white. What I see is non-white people who have grown up during a period of time in which a serious effort was made to destroy the family, the church, patriotism etc. Conservative values essentially. On the other side is a group that has largely maintained their religion, social norms, work ethic etc. and is OBVIOUSLY so much better off, so much more productive and happier. There is a real lesson to be learned here if we have the wisdom to see it. Btw, I am white and I really enjoy living here but it is not hard to see that things could become very difficult if there were, for example, a major rise in unemployment.

Most of the points you made were correct, however the whole racism that’s liberal government propaganda, and just to clarify I’m emigrant my self so not Canadian. You made a point of big 5 banks having white leadership that is NOT true, I work for one of them I can tell you they hire much more people from minority communities rather then white people. At one point I was the only white person at my department in 2019. Also check TD Bank or other banks they do have people from minority communities in their leadership.

Unlike most of the comments here, I absolutely love being a Canadian. I have a rare health condition and the government covers 100% of my medicine costs which is thousands of dollars a month. It’s also safe here and there’s so much opportunity. I immigrated when I was 4 years old from Pakistan and even when I go back to visit, Canada is like heaven on earth compared to Pakistan. The medicine I need to live a healthy is isn’t even made or offered in Pakistan. I’ll forever be a proud Canadian. Thank you Canada ❤

I grew up in Malton (borders Brampton) in the 1980's and it was all Western European and Canadian folks and it was great. Such a sense of community and everyone knew everyone. Us kids would stay out until the street lights came on and played in Parks. It was really safe. We moved away in 2006 because the area had gone such down hill by 1999 and the crime was horrible. Stolen cars, alcohol and drug abusing Punjabi folks and the domestic partner violence of the Indian men beating the crap out of their wives was insane. (I had a friend that was a Peel Region Police officer who ended up leaving because she couldn't take seeing it any longer). I have nothing against Immigration, because my dad was an immigrant, but I do have a problem with the amount of any one country we let in, and the types of people that we let in that contribute to crime and area degradation. It's so sad the slums that have become in Brampton and Malton since we left. I'm glad we got the heck out of there when we did. I feel sorry for all those that are stuck there still. Furthermore with such an influx of immigrants into one area it has driven the house prices and rent through the roof because the pace of immigration was nowhere near the housing starts, and cities think that everyone needs to be packed in like sardines and when you have that many people living in close proximity and you have such expensive living costs it's a disaster waiting to happen and it brings along with it tons of crime and drugs. The Trudeau government really messed up this country and the GTA Cities like Brampton are a shining example of that. It's sick that we pay as much as we do for government at all levels that are this idiotic. It's time we protested in the street and made the government at all levels fear the public again or it's never going to change.

There isn't anything wrong with those who immigrate to Canada and adapt to Canadian Customs and Traditions, But when they start complaining about our Customs and Traditions, and want us to change them, then I have a BIG problem with it !!!! I wonder how much money Trudeau received from India to specifically have a vast majority of people from India move to Canada.Where are the Greeks the Italians the Irish the English why mainly many from the East.First we had the Chinese years ago now so many from India.Everywhere you go its people from India.They are buying up everything doubling the cost and is this the reason why Canada is too expensive to live.Many Canadians have rules for living in apartments.I seen 10 living in a two bedroom apartment.Many speak their language.

I lived on brampton a year after moving to canada, 1977. Went to high school there. I escaped after all of these years, i really have a hard time visiting some of my friends that are left there. The biggest issue i see is that there are multiple families in a sinhle family dwelling, and if you do the math, the schoolbosrd is always inthe red and looking for money. Simply put, yhe education levy on property tax generally is meant to cover 2 children per single family dwelling, not 6 not 8. Hod forbid something happens to you, it is quicly covered up otherwise race gets brought into the mix. I was rear ended by an indian lady 5 years ago, she was charged, i was a lame duck at a red light, could not move as i would hsve been tboned. She was charged but she fought it in court, i was contacted to confirm my appearance from the police officer that was first on the scene the day before the trial, the subpoena was never senr by tge prosecutors office. The prosecutor was angry that i showed up, he had already made a deal with her and dismissed all charges. Would thd same stick have bern used if i rear ended her. This is the isdue with brampton, indian is ok, everybody else, not so much

Is there a smart they won’t come to Canada because even right now Canadians are on the street. It’s just not a good time. Canadians are good people it’s not their fault. It’s not the screw goes right back to Trudeau. All the cared about was making money and that is it charging immigrants so much you know what I mean and getting money from the government but it’s not going I believe to the migrants it’s not even going to the Canadian citizens. Mr. Trudo does not care. He only cares about himself and how to make a quick buck in the hell with anybody else. They should’ve been clear when you made a commercial and made it look beautiful on how you can kill yourself if you’re suffering depression. There was a young girl in her 20s, that’s a kid and because she had depression and why did she have depression? She was homeless and she had diabetes. She had no money to buy the diabetes medication so she killed her self with the assistant help of Canada. They were murdering people and then inviting immigrants in, how does that make sense?. And then no one‘s offering the immigrants jobs because there is no jobs but that’s not again the Canadians fault they can’t afford to put food on their own table. Canadians are hard-working and I know lotta immigrants are hard-working in regards to the students don’t come here maybe the United States will be best for you they offer lotta countries. Oh my God warm nice beautiful countries, I’m not country is sorry states you’ll probably be best for you to transfer over to somewhere there cause it’s just so many beautiful, warmer climate, and if people are used to coming from a warmer climate, it would just make more sense to me just an idea. I’m half of Canadians. I’m embarrassed of what is happening to the Canadian people under Trudeau and I’m embarrassed of what’s happening to the immigrants under Trudeau. Mr. Trudo needs a nonconfidence vote and sodas, the NDP, the broken laws both of them so both of them need to go make some very clear that a certain laws are broke doesn’t matter if he joins with an NDP throat people need to know the rights of Canada please Canadians look them up look up your rights, read them if you don’t understand them maybe it’s time we start having private groups and not on Facebook because Facebook rats. Singapore Airlines is an absolute treat to fly on. I gather in a microcosm, it is interesting to compare Air Canada and Singapore airline or all Nippon airways, with Air Canada. Air Canada is very expensive for a one or two hour flight, not so in Southeast Asia. Air Canada service is horrible, intimidating, and nasty. Singapore airlines and all Nippon airways, is exactly the opposite. Air Canada makes it very difficult for you too make claims on cancelled flights, broken luggage, and breaches of contract. Singapore airlines and other airlines in Southeast Asia go out of their way to advert a claim. The taxes on a ticket with Canada is horrendous, both indirect and direct taxes, in Singapore and all Nippon airways, much more reasonable. I think when you compare to airlines or multiple airlines against Air Canada, Air Canada is a microcosm of economics, workplace normality, and courteousness. Canadians will always say “I am sorry. “but let me assure you for somebody that is both, culturally Asian and Canadian, they don’t mean it a bit. The culture is more passive aggressive than anything else. Canadians are distant, and have a very, very remote education on their own country. I also have to give credit to the Singaporean pilots. There is usually the captain, first officer, and a second officer or two upfront. Excellent training for the up-and-coming first officers and captains. In Canada, of course we don’t do this. I feel at the safety upfront, especially in an IFR environment, is being sacrificed in Canada and North America. cost is everything, will safety seems like it has taken a backseat. Second officers should be mandatory on all Air Canada flights. This is not the case anymore. Also, on a visual approach to hit the button, I would definitely give the Singapore captain the edge. The hands and feet of an air. Canada pilot has deteriorated beyond belief where, if they don’t have their flight management system and auto pilot going in full tilt, they start sweating and second-guessing themselves. I’ve witnessed this many times.

I was born and raise in Canada… Trudeau have destroy Canada in the last 8 years and have create so much new debts that it will take multiple generation just to bring back economy to a normal state… Massive immigration have create a big stress to a already fragile system… House and rent cost have explode and inflation too!!! I really REALLY want to move out of Canada in 4-5 years because i want to retire and with the present situation it will be impossible!!!

Lifetime Canadian here; housing crisis for sure, but what`s even more insidious is many entry level jobs such as fast food industry, production workers in factories, and even culturally significant cornerstones such as Canadian Tires are being owned and operated by East Indians, going so far as to play Indian music over their loudspeakers for us Canadians (both at a McDonald`s and at a Canadian Tire). It`s obnoxious and border lining on reverse racism; because trust me, these people will drive out all the nationals, and replace them with their own temporary workers, whom they have much more control over, and are likely infringing on human rights concerns (taking passports, multiple human occupancy housing), it`s a mess here. If you live in Ontario, Alberta (lots of Indian corruption there and in BC) and British Columbia, you know exactly what I am talking about.\n\nI am actively trying to get out of Ontario and ultimately and ideally, Canada.

How did Trudeau end being such a DICTATOR that decides what is best for the country and ignores the electorate with pooh pooh's and adamant about his own agenda rather than the people who pay his enormous salary of $400,000 plus with perks as he spews his venom worldwide spreading CARBON he is convinced is the downfall of our earth and taxing Canadians so we'll have nothing to leave to our future that is bleaker daily as we read how great he thinks he is trying to imitate his father who said JUST WATCH ME as he passed on his legacy to a Snow Board Instructor who's new Boss is Klause Schawb who admitted has infiltrated Trudeau and most of his Cabinet,, I want him gone as much as the populace but I won't celebrate till I see him eat crow and admit defeat.

Except War Refugees most of the so called refugees are mostly rich just flocked to have social benefit. Meanwhile by born Canadians are dying in street. Suffering with loneliness, drug and homelessness. I'm an int'l student. I feel really sad when I encounter with any Canadian homeless person. I try to help as much as possible. As someone living in Quebec I can confirm.. housing prices just seem unreasonable for someone with a modest income. pretty much had to keep living with family and pay them a rent that is liveble with.. Heard other people who can't count of family had to share single person appartments with friends and sometimes even random people in similar situation. Its honestly terrifying to think about potentially having no home despite getting a modest income..\nThe medical scene is probably a bit better but still not that great looking. Quebec had (dunno how it works in other provinces) a system of Family doctors that the medical system sort of relied on. yet there is barely no family doctors left. I can't buy the meds I need without a doctor giving me the prescription but I no longer have a family doctor for the last 5 years. I've been jumping through hoops and all just to get somehow to extend or give me another year of prescription.. I need those meds for life though....\nFood situation.. I guess sure the prices have increase but for the most part we(me and family) are still hanging on fine. However restaurents have gotten too pricy so we had to cut luxury out of our life.

I came here as an international student, back then you could only get your PR if you studied at an accredited university, not a career college. Back then skilled workers were required, and that is how you were able to get a PR. Canada has changed so much, multicultural has left and more and more there are two cultures dominating. I came here because I use to visit for our annual holidays then decide I liked the culture and wanted to study here. The landscape has shifted , Canadians will soon be the minority and that is not the Canada I want to be paying taxes in. \nThere are always protesters waving foreign flags demanding that the government help their families, love ones in another country, meanwhile Canadians here are loosing their homes , can't afford food, basic life necessities and living in tents. Charity should start at home first.\nResponsible tax payers cannot afford to have kids, why because the taxes we pay are too high, if we're struggling to survive why would we subject a child into this world to experience the same. However, there are millions of dollars in incentives for people who never paid in to come to Canada with their extended family members who are dependent on government support, that we the taxpayers have to finance. The aging population could be address if the affordability could be address for citizens living here and PAYING taxes. If the government wants to bring in aging populations who never worked in Canada, their families should be funding their living here including healthcare, not taxpayers. Invest in your people first , help Canadians become more skilled to fill positions that there are shortages, lower taxes to allow Canadians to have said families and replenish the population , these are the people who would always put Canada first.

Your landlord here. Thanks to a complete lack of supply and reckless mass immigration, my property value is exploding!\n\nI have to continue to raise the rent too, due to inflation/interest rates. But there are so many applicants looking, i have no trouble getting 3200/month. \n\nThe next 5 years look like much the same. More immigrants means more demand!

damn scrolled a lot and everyone is so depressed Oo glad to have chose a small city in northish Quebec guess its less bad around here. I really feel a lot of the issue is spread around the world densily urban population and service based économy. idk much but hey life is good in the countryside.

Healthcare costs spending in Euro counties isn’t a fair comparison because it ignores the nature of the geography. Canada is the 2nd largest country on earth by land area and much of the country is made of smaller, remote regions where it is beyond expensive to render heath care services onto the population. There isn’t a single Euro country with a population as spread out as Canada. I wish more people would move closer to urban centres so that it is cheaper to render services to them, but the fact is, you won’t find a single Euro country that deals with providing care to these extremely remote towns that make up so much of Canada. We have entire provinces that are mostly comprised of remote, hard to access towns. It’s just an unfortunate fact of the nature of where we live.

Nice video. I watched it as I like to learn from other perspectives.\n\nI was born in Toronto, and I must say, this “no time for life and fun” is a new thing. This lack of access to health care is a new thing. I agree with your assessment. It now seems lonelier in Toronto. \n\nCanada used to be different because anyone with a good job could afford at least a condo, but life became unaffordable not just for immigrants, but for everyone unless you are in your 50s-60s and own a home. \n\nI have friends working double jobs supporting family back home in other countries, but for some of them the family back home sound like they are doing better than them and own a home. It’s like they are sacrificing their life to be in poverty or full of hardships and their families get to go out for dinners and drinks with friends. Not them. Not true for everyone, but for some yes and I worry about their own retirement because retirement in Canada without lots of savings means you might be homeless or forced to live with family even if it’s not your preference. \n\n without investments and savings, it will be hard to beat inflation. Getting into debt and getting bad credit can mean not getting an apartment. \n\nThe birth rate is going down because it is expensive to have kids and income isn’t enough to match with living costs. Getting help from government is really not something everyone gets access too. One person might get housing support, 10 others may get nothing. Different governments offer different things. Programs end and change often. \n\nIn Canada definitely bargain and shop around for good phone plans. one idea is to get a pay as you go until “Black Friday” then every year or two when your good offer expires there will be many others. It’s the time with the best deals saving almost half. For instance, I have 50 gigs for $25 for two years from a large provider. Telephone companies are the one place where people must bargain and even ask for better deals as a must.\n\nThe people you see living in big houses, will have kids that can’t afford the same. This is because prices keep rising. The system protects the very rich, but will also drain the middle class often within 1-2 generations. Do not link your business to your personal finance, or creditors can take your home. Some not knowing this lose everything and rich people know better. \n\nPeople live until they are very old, so inheritance is pretty much meaningless to rely on, so no matter what your parents have you must hustle in life. \n\nI do think Canada can become what we want over time. Citizens need to fight the trend of great community spaces, restaurants and bars going out of business and dumb corporations move in with bad boring restaurants. Like a McDonald’s where maybe a popular cultural hang out was. \n\nPart of the problem is a lack of mixed income housing areas, so it’s hard to stay living where you grew up. Artists and musicians help make a city great, but many cannot afford to live here.\n\nFamilies and communities staying together means more support for those with young kids and older relatives when they need help. Yet how is this possible in a city that is always pushing out lower income people when wealthier people desire the area. \n\nIn Toronto, every time you move you have to take what is available and that might mean moving an hour away from everyone you know. This weakens communities. Plus, if you live too far from your work you will have no time to socialize for most the week due to travel time. \n\nI think those who grew up in Toronto do have a certain culture of acceptance with others from many cultures, because your friends at school were from all over. But with new migrants sometimes it isn’t until the second generation that their social circles get diverse. This can be isolating and it’s even isolating as those from Toronto eventually leave dreaming of staying in one spot and not forced to move constantly when a landlord investor sells every house you move into. \n\n\nToronto really needs to protect affordability of housing for at least some housing in every section so that people can save money if they live in the city, and not have to leave their communities and be far from their friends and family. \n\notherwise eventually people get sick of the hustle and it’s too tiring to travel 1+ hrs each way to visit someone during Monday to Friday. \n\n20 years ago any professional could at least buy a condo. Not today. There is too much competition now and investors are allowed to buy up all the most affordable housing that once was a pathway to owning a home. \n\nRich policy makers got greedy and destroyed canada and hopefully diversity in leadership will help make Canada better. But they perhaps people knew to Canada can reject this lonely structure and help us rebuild Toronto into an amazing place. \n\nWe need to make sure everyone can afford housing with 30% of their income. I think that will help

You will never ever see these horrbile scenes in any muslim country even if people are poor .. why ? because Islam has a very important law that you as a muslim have to give 2.5 % of your money every year to poor people who need food or shelter ... moreover , you are incourged to help them in any way you can .. In the other hand / they must help them selves by work and be responsible .. Drugs and alchohol are prohibted , family should stick together .. taking a very good care of women and eldery is so important in our religion ... I don't understand how anyone could NOT be worried about children getting shot in schools. Once every 10 years is way too much. Now it happens multiple times a year. You really gotta step back and see just how fucking insane it is. Seriously. You really have become desensitized to it and that will be your downfall. This was basically UNHEARD OF less than 30 years ago. You had the Columbine shooting that really shook things up. People talked about that for YEARS after, yet now you have a school shooting and most people can't even remember the name of the school or the city/town it happened in because IT HAPPENS SO FUCKING MUCH.\n\nWAKE UP!

Until 2020 (pandemic), most lifelong Canadians would have proudly & quickly said Canada is a great place. For multiple generations (young & old). It still is in many ways. But like all countries, a bunch of things have made life more difficult lately. \n \nDuring the COVID lockdowns, many people went wild wanting to buy a house (urban & rural). Increasing demand and rising prices. Not long after, inflation caused mortgage rates especially to rise. Rent costs soared too. People interested in working in hospitals declined. Less doctors etc.. \n \nSimultaneously in Canada, the number of people coming by air, land and boat to claim asylum skyrocketed. For example, in 2023 alone, in just one region (Central Canada) around 400 people arrived per day (on average). Ditto for other populated provinces. Also the number of international students SKYROCKETED too. In 2023, averaging around 2,000 per day across Canada. Years 2021 and 2022 had high #s too. \n \nThe majority trying to migrate to Canada recently have been from South Asia. And it's become extremely obvious to Canadians. Even those that are very used to much diversity & many cultures. Plus neighborhoods now know that international students are using schooling as a 'back door' ticket to come to Canada for permanent residency. No one says it in public amongst strangers, but everyone knows because they've witnessed the extreme PR frenzy firsthand by now. To many Canadians it has felt like a tidal wave that has reached all cities and small towns, with a post secondary school. This extreme situation never existed prior to 4 years ago.\n \nHospitals have been hit with many wanting free healthcare. Less doctors/nurses etc., means greater waiting times. Plus a VERY SEVERE HOUSING CRISIS has occurred in many western countries including in Canada. In ways not seen in people's lifetimes. And if you do find a place to live its quite expensive. Including small basement rooms. \n \nNow westerners want the money greedy agents (pseudo smugglers) in other countries to stop marketing & LYING to their own people about access to PR or citizenship … or accommodation/jobs … being easy (to get). And for any greedy people living in western countries to be ashamed of themselves if they're hurting students. Anyone doing things to make $ off of people's PR desires. At best, there is a 25% chance of gaining PR (better odds if you are masters/medicine etc.). \n \nNot all players across the board have acted honestly over the years, i.e. contract marriages (IELTS spouse), anchor babies, fraud, false asylum claims. Canada has asked the India government to prevent “ghost consulting”. The new PRIVATE (non-public) colleges are being investigated (including looking for strong oversea ties). \n \nCanadians are meeting students who told Canada they have enough $, but it turns out they borrowed it (some borrowed it for the application process only). Canadian food banks and other CHARITY services have been recklessly advertised on YouTube (by India students in Indian language). Many transit services have launched stricter rules, i.e. lost monthly bus passes registered in your name are now never replaced (unlike before). \n \nThen this year throw in all the Palestinian vs Israeli angry protests happening regularly in cities. Plus the Sikh vs Hindu violence/extortion mostly happening in Ontario and British Columbia. Plus the Canadian government also recently launched investigations in regards to foreign interference in Canadian elections. All stemming from Asia continent. Hate crimes have gone from rare to occasional (primarily South Asians against South Asians). \n \nCanadians are so so so so so not used to all this. So many, who have embraced multi-culturalism and immigration for decades are now VERY worried and fearful (due to all of the above). And all are praying it doesn't turn into great anger (like in the USA). \n \nCanadians want multi-culturism to succeed … and for all people (including immigrants) to be okay. Everyone I know is VERY happy with Canada Immigration's recent changes (reductions & investigations). Including multi-generational long-term Asian-Canadians where many have been the most upset (by all of this).

Would never move to Florida or anywhere in USA reason 1) health care 2)Freedom I have never had people yell racial slurs at me from down the street and don’t get me started on the guns over there . 3)working rights YOU GET PAID vacations here in Canada YOU get paid maternity leave you get Paid sick days Worker rights gets taken more seriously in Canada Retail workers don’t work in a state holiday you get extra pay. Prejudice there is less of it here sure there are people that are jerks but it’s not full blown. There is a viral story about a grocery store that was left unlocked accidentally on a holiday and nothing was stolen . Politeness this is something I have a feeling that lots of people in Canada like to say thwy are on the service but tenth the service not so much . Look what happens during Covid all the niceness went out the door .

I live a couple hours east of Toronto and the homelessness here has got so much worse over the last few years.. 15 or 20 years ago there was only a couple homeless people here. There were so few most people knew them by name. But now there are so many it is unbelievable, and they act so much more crazy now. Its obviously the drugs that do that. Probably most of the ones that have came here over the last decade have been from Toronto. And its just going to get worse.
