Interesting and objectively reasonable list. Surprised to see the Maritime provinces listed so low and Alberta rated so high. I grew up in Alberta and my heart is there, but the conservative politics is killing the province - as is Covid. The education and healthcare systems are suffering the most. I live in Vancouver - other than the astronomical cost of living here, we have a horrible amount of urban poverty and gang violence. Downtown has been overrun by the homeless the mentally I’ll and junkies. Like anywhere - it’s great if you have the money.

I came to Canada when I was 9 years old with my father and sister so in some ways I was young so it was easy in a way for me, but as I got older it hit me being Spanish dominican ?? the culture different it's quite obvious, you're absolutely right people stick together in their own Community or culture, and is kind of hard to make friends, I know Spanish people here in Canada Toronto but they seem to stick to themselves and you were to think because I'm also Spanish that would have been easy for me to talk to them, but is not so sadly, without offending anyone Canada is not for anyone, you gotta be strong, Brave, quick, and smart. Credit matter alot here in Canada or you're nobody, having reference matters a lot or you cannot get anything done, the level of education matter alot here in Canada, and many more.. I understand that working for a company, restaurant or a hotel is tough, especially finding one. \n1)What about if an immigrant has a kind of business skill or experience say in a fast food sector and has all that it takes to run a small fast food shop, which i think is better and more lucrative than trying to find a job elsewhere. Does the government of Canada or the Municipality of a city the immigrant is in, lend a hand in such matters?\n2) From one of YouTube videos I came to know that people living there have to pay several taxes including federal taxes, provincial taxes, unemployment Insurance Premium (UIP). I have been living here for 28 years (that’s most of my life, I came her as a young child). My sister’s and I have experienced first hand racism due to our hijab in elementary school, high school, after 9-11 during job interviews (myself and my brothers due to their name being Muhammed). Over time things have gotten better alhumdolillah but racism exists everywhere and many have experienced it. Where there are people that use racial slurs or acts of discrimination etc, there are many more that will support you and guide you. I love Canada and wouldn’t live anywhere else but to say it’s not there and every case is dealt with the way it was dealt with our London family, is not the case. If it was, what happens with them would not have happened. May Allah help us treat one another with tolerance and love as Islam intends it to be. Look at the real state market. \nCanadian citizens are unable to buy houses because of the spring prices , and the high prices are due to student boarding housing . The city I live has been over run buy East Indian students and these rich big city East Indians are buying the housing market up then renting each room for $600 a month but but also have people sleeping on floors with about 10-15 people living in each home. \n\nWhy isn't the government fixing this ?

I'm not white, have lived in Canada for 40+ years, and I have never been been racially profiled or been a victim of any blatant racism. Even now, living outside the GTA where it's less diverse, I've yet to experience any issues. I'm not saying those issues don't exist, but the first step to overcoming those problems is to stop with your own victim mentality. Not everything is about race, but that's the always the scapegoat for many when they fail at life.

I love Canada, I have a lot of family in Toronto and have been there many times as well as Montreal and Vancouver. Tbh, there’s no place like the US. We have all types of climates and geography. From deserts, tundra, rain forests, etc. We have some of the best mountains, beaches, and cities on Earth. If you like cold weather, stay up north like Chicago or Boston. If you like normal every season weather, we have many places for that. Mediterranean weather in California, and tropical weather in Florida. We have it all. We have the best sports fans in the world and every sport is accepted here. You can even see so many people play Rugby and Cricket in many parks. Many great universities throughout the country. Best attractions in the world for all age groups. High pay and decent cost of living in most part of the country. Supercar culture is the best in the world especially in SoCal (my personal favorite), TV and entertainment, and the list keeps going on and on. I know that the government in this country is pretty messed up, but hopefully that will be resolved in the future. I also respect the safety that Canada has, but have to admit that Toronto is getting pretty dangerous in some areas. Plus the History of America is amazing. I really do love Canada and would live there if I had to move out of the country, but there’s no place like the USA. ??❤️??

I moved to Halifax from India. Lived there 2 years, moved to Etobicoke then Kitchener, then Waterloo and now leaving in Brampton.\nIts been 7 years in Canada and 1.5 years in Brampton.\n\nWhen someone asks me why you live in Brampton, it’s unsafe city or ghetto. I am like hell no, never leaving Brampton. Brampton is safe city compare to some other GTA cities, look at statistics. Its just have bad name because of lots of south asian people.\n\nBrampton is brampton, only place I feel belonged and enjoying living in Canada with little Indian tweest. \n\nBrampton takes away our dependency on cooking during hectic days as restaurants are hell cheap, easy to find home-cooked tiffin with lots of options. Main reason easy to find Gujarati foods and other vegetarian food. Tons of pure vegetarian Indian restaurants in Brampton.\n\nGreat feelings come when you are tried and don’t want to cook and at same time don’t want to eat in restaurants then home-cooked food is always available to your neighbourhood for just 6-7 dollar.

I'm muslim but i dont like the arabs muslim (not all arabs but mostly of them) becuz of the way they behave. They are refugees from their own country but they are disrespectful to their destination country. The arabs are not grateful with what they have been given from the other country. If They wanna be one of the majority community, then they have to be thankful and accept the culture of the majority community .They must be fluent and well spoken in english too. Ok so there's a lot of back and forth racial comments in here so I'm going out on a limb. I've been living in castlemore bramton since 2005 1st phase. It was multicultural then, which is how it should be. I grew up in Woodbridge where there were more Italians than other cultures, but I could get a job there,and I did not feel out of place. The problem that I have with Brampton is that, the Indians do not hire any other culture in their business places, from the banks straight down to the grocery stores. I would also like to keep my property value up to par and even that's becoming hard. Segregation is UNACCEPTABLE!!. It bothers me that the government is allowing this to happen. I see job postings online that's asking for Punjabi as a second language. Any job postings in Canada should have either French or English requirement, any other language(s) is a plus. I am a Canadian currently homeless and looking for an apartment in Vancouver. I have been living here all my life and was born here. My parents were also born here. Trudeau refuses to give me an apartment but will willingly let immigrants have one while I am on the street! We have to stop immigration from everywhere including China now!!!

Why don't all the nations like US and Canada try to help fix what is happening from the places these people are fleeing, especially if they are murder capitals? They can recruit these migrants to form coalitions to rebuild their nation. What if they are really are going to suffer there, without outside intervention, by being recruited, instead, into gangs or be killed or raped? If we send troops to the middle east for our vested interest, then don't we also have at least some vested interest to send troops in Honduras and El Salvador? We can prevent the entire population from migrating, prevent people from being exploited and hurt while traveling or living illegally and the taxpayers and citizens won't have to pay for court costs, education, healthcare and welfare. There are plenty of things our nation can do to uplift our own destitute and out of luck an alone citizens...with that money. With the money now saved, it can be diverted to cover the costs of our troops, counselors, educators in those nations. Then it is possible and foreseeable to reunite all the undocumented immigrants back to their now safer home countries. I understand why they flee and also understand why the US and Canada cannot absorb these large population of people, and they have the right to determine who is invited in, so....why can't there be more permanent solutions? I feel, certain pathetic political groups are playing these migrants, the law-abiding citizens and others in their game of chess. Lives are not pawns for chess. Is there a hidden path for drugs, money, prostitution that is being quietly supported? Are certain businesses lobbying in the millions and billions to get cheap labor? Is that why this problem is not finally being solved but kept alive for so many years? There are basic solutions that have not been tried in earnest. You cannot just bring everyone in and you cannot just turn your face to the problems these undocumented people face... I feel like much is not being discussed about this situation....Something else is going on that they are not covering...

We can stop migration of youths by improving our cities standard, and yes its going on albeit slowly.

I did not know that these so-called educated people does not know that Canada is north America too,it only two different countries.But it is the same thing going on their with black people, only because it is not done on a large scale, like the united States.I have some relatives living in Canada over 45 years, friends over 38 years and.They talked about some form of racist against them, only it is not done on a large scale like the united States.Some of those Canada who they called snow birds, whenever they came to the united States.They are behaving like they own the country,or the complex where they are living.Nobody does not like them because of their racist behaviour against black people, so some people does not know about.The reason why it is done on a large scale as the united States, only because it does not populated like the united States as the world 2nd largest country.We have read where black people been turned away from entering certain building, only because it is not done on a regular scales like the united States.

I was born in Seattle and left to Canada (married) when I was in early 20's!  This then was a good change for me as Vancouver was a great city compared to Seattle, moved right downtown and had a blast so for a young person (then) was great.  Met some great people from all over the world and had health care, medical/Dental etc.... I worked in the greater Vancouver area for 8 years and it was tough, very strict, and did not help that I was from the states, white bread Canadian seemed a bit jealous that I was there, sometimes not very friendly.  The Europeans I met were actually better to deal with and I got along quite well with them.  The cost of living was about the same as in Seattle.  After about 8 years being in Canada and working hard I saw America booming and the Canadian dollar was as low as $.62 cents (in late 90's) so I took my craft from Vancouver and brought it to the US just across the border, I became much happier working in the States, I took a little bit of bs but not bad from some that I had a Canadian accent (go figure when I moved up there I had a twang) I really never left the united states I will always be American and I have been still working in the US for over 20 years and deal with mainly Americans on a daily basis from all over the State of Washington.  Depending on where you grow up or end up you should never see a border Seattle and Vancouver have more in common than Vancouver / Calgary in fact most Canadians don't care much for the other provinces.  After 30 years of being part of both countries, I can say that people are people both have great offerings and if you took the best of Canada and America to combine then we would all prosper, there is so much both can learn from each other.  Bottom line:I take the best of both worlds and what they have to offer, yes, I have found less expensive goods in Canada than what they cost in the states.  I have seen it from both eyes, and if you cant be open culturally then stay away.

Living in Latin America is not that bad, well there are parts where you should avoid at all cost but there are places where you can have a safe decent life, most of you just say what comes out of your small little brains without ever even leaving your city your whole life. Its just that this people have lived and been so dependent from your system and in stretching their hands( beg) all this time that they not know what to do now. \n\nHe said that he wasted 15 thousand dollars in lawyer, if it would have been me I could have perfectly moved to lets say Costa Rica or Peru and still have money to buy land. But they really are addicted to this kind of life. I agree that the people in El salvador have made violence to sky rocket because they have not done nothing about it, they left gangs and violence to proliferate and now its just too late for them. But there is still hope in other places in Latin America.

There are many problems with anti-immigrant rhetoric and one of them is the classification who is and who isn't an immigrant and the question of when does a person stop becoming an immigrant and become a Canadian? A significant portion of people living in Canada are first/second/third generation Canadians and so, how do we classify these people, are they immigrants or are they not? And what of their parents/grandparents who immigrated, are they? It's very important to note that without their ancestor parents, all these first/second/third gen Canadians will not be here and they are now 'Canadians' today because we had pro-immigration laws. Also, the idea of accessing services is by itself, very problematic. I spent the first 4 years of my life here paying high tuition fees as well as tax that are used to subsidize fellow Canadians' tuition fees yet I'm not able to access any government services. Following graduation, I worked as a worker on visa where my tax was no less than an average Canadian yet government services were very much inaccessible to me. It was only after I became permanent resident, that somehow everything suddenly became available to me. I have been tax paying 6-7 years before I became a PR here yet all those years, I wasn't able to access a single thing yet somehow, after I became PR, I'm eligible for everything? The tax argument doesn't make sense at all. I will be eligible to apply for citizenship in like a year and does that mean now I am one of you, Canadians?

I find that with each generation, the issue with racism becomes slightly less and less, which is great considering slavery was abolished only for about 100 years. I find that living in Canada as a black millenial is much better then say living in the 70s. I never faced racism the entire time i grew up here. but then again I haven't been everywhere in Canada. I think the most you'll experience here right now is indirect racism in the small towns. but you just have to show them who you really are and most will be OK. I don't think a lot of the people still have the mindset left in the 1900s. especially not in the major cities where its so diverse. but there's racism everywhere no matter what you look like. I hope everyone can look past appearance and stereotypes some day.
