Good!, sad for them, but they see there is no longer the Canadian dream.

I'm a dual citizen, born & raised in Canada; my mom was an American, my dad a Canadian, they met in Detroit. I'm very glad they chose to settle in Canada and raise their children here. (My American mom preferred Canada. She was a stage 3 cancer survivor who outlived all her American relatives and she believed she outlived them because of Canadian healthcare.) Although I'm eligible as a dual citizen, I would never live in the US because of the cost and lack of universal health care and the gun culture in some states. I also dislike the polarization in the USA and worry we be headed the same way. Sadly, many Americans the myth of American exceptionalism.

Your insurance costs are absolutely insane, the whole system is corrupt. It sadly drives up the costs exponentially for everyone, especially us Canadians who have to import from US them $12000 (yes 12K) US custom manual wheelchairs ? or 900$ wheelchair cushions, 800$ rigid carbon back, or 900 feeding tubes (that’s not even accounting for bags, syringes, adapters, sterile stuff galore). Err, you get my drift! ? That’s like a several 100s of % mark-up, costs are insanely inflated just because they’re considered medical devices, and regulated by FDA and Health ?? intensely (makes importing some brands is a nightmare, I mean fun time). There are workarounds and exchange groups, so you never know.

Canada is a great country if you wanna be a dependent slave to the government. No guns, free speech is policed and your children can be taken away if you dont agree with them taking hormones and having their genitals mutilated. America isnt perfect but id rather the US then living in a country run by far left wing idiots. Also Canadian healthcare is very overrated. Sure its free but you might die waiting for life saving treatments because the government doesnt want to allow any form of private healthcare if its already “provided” by the government. Most of the gun violence in the US is in the lower income neighborhoods and at least you’re allowed to defend yourself. In Canada if you defend yourself, straight to jail. If you have evidence of self defense youll be ruined by the legal fees. Its sad, Canada used to be great but after 8 years of terrible liberal economic policies the prices have skyrocketed and now canadian kids are being told they’ll never own a house. Who would want to stay here? Most canadians dont care though, as long as they get to smoke their pot they’ll always remain complacent.

I find it funny and sad that the politicians fighting for universal Healthcare in the U.S. are labeled far left, communists and socialists. I watch American media talk about universal Healthcare like its some weird imaginary concept. \n\nWe got politicians here undermining our universal Healthcare. They drain as much funding as possible, leaving our hospitals struggling to keep up, then they sit back and let the media push the narrative that our system is failing and we need to privatize. It's depressing because some Canadians are falling for it and it's a real possibility that we might not have it if our citizens don't stand up for it.

Sad thing is, you guys are the forerunners of what is already coming in other places. \nI can say and confirm Sydney-Australia, is going down the EXACT SAME PATH. We dont have the refuge problem experienced in Canada and really adds up to the problem, however real estate speculation has totally de railed and it's spinning out of control. I suggest viewers take a look at StatsCan’s crime severity index which confirms that Ontario is the safest province or territory in Canada (safer than PEI lol). There are also scores for cities and Toronto is safer than almost every other Canadian city, safer than even Ottawa or Calgary, twice as safe as Vancouver, nearly three times safer than Winnipeg. If we start comparing to US cities, it would be even more shocking. Suffice to say, Toronto is not only safe, but it’s the safest major city in Canada and one of the safest major cities on earth. \n\nThe homelessness crisis has certainly gotten a lot worse, sadly. As has the cost of living, but you get what you pay for.\n\nHaving travelled to 35 countries (doesn’t mean I’m an expert, but I have some experiences in other places), I respectfully disagree and think Toronto is one of the greatest cities. It’s one of the greenest cities in this continent, safe, on the lake, super close to other major cities, great infrastructure (relative to Canadian cities anyway), it’s beautiful and there’s a ton to do, not to mention the diversity. \n\nDon’t be turned off by this, if you can afford it, it’s one of the best places you could live on this planet.

I was just in Ontario and Quebec, last month with my 13 year old daughter. We talked with many native Canadians during our travels. \n\nThe common theme was too much immigration, without letting the natives feel comfortable about it, or giving time for the immigrants to assimilate. Besides cultural concerns, it really hurts schools, hospitals, and the cost of living. \n\nIt doesn’t appear that Trudeau has much concern for Canadians. I heard a lot of anger directed at him. Especially from eastern Indian immigrants—they were very upset about the forced inoculations. \n\nCanada was very much different than it was just a few short years ago. It’s very sad to see. Hopefully they can get some better direction than what they have now.

A somewhat depressing video, because it's an actually accurate portrait of the city, as it is. Toronto and Canada as a whole is governed by politicians and bureaucrats, who rely on experts opinion of what could be, if x,y,z all come together as envisioned. These pixie dust ideas are often aspirational, but sadly lack a base in reality. Slogans and cheerleading don't make things happen. Rarely is there enough funding to support implementation of these grandiose ideas, and somehow these same leaders ensure they get a chunk before anyone else, cause they have a standard of living to maintain. They just really feel for the pain and suffering of those who are not them. Toronto and Vancouver used to be Canadian examples, that those of us didn't live or want to live there could still be proud of. These cities also were viewed as examples to follow by other Canadian population centres. So the same issues keep reoccurring, because in abstract theory they could work. By the time reality shows that they are not working, it is too late, and too hard, and too embarrassing to change course. \nA very interesting video by a creator who took her rose coloured glasses ( we all have a pair just admit it), and sees what is and then says it out loud.

This is very sad. As a canadian, I hope this tuition scam stops because it's not only hurting individuals coming to Canada with false hope, but also hurts the canadian house/job market greatly for locals.

Seriously are they coming to study or finding a loophole to gain immigration. Crying doesn't help all International students know before hand what they are ending up in, its a rat hole. 90% of the students do not even have money to support themselves then why do you come here. They enroll in colleges but are seen working either under the table cash jobs and sending money back home. We Canadian's have had enough of these sad stories. Please don't come to study. Get your PR the right way do not use short cuts.

As a Saudi who has studied in Canada I feel very sad for all my Canadian friends. Saudia was a good friend of Canada and would have helped with gas and petrol prices, but Trudeau started the beef with Saudia. I hope things get better soon.

Imagine being a doctor, lawyer, or engineer in your own country, living a comfortable life, earning a comfortable wage, and you naively leave all that because you think you'll move to Canada thinking you will live the Canadian dream of a better life. Almost all immigrants have a way better job in their country but they come to Canada still. It's so sad that immigrants believe these silly lies. Canada is hard to live in and it is expensive! Why leave your country??? Stay in your country and stop coming to Canada thinking it is easy, it is not easy, it is hard people are suffering and need to work 2-3 jobs to survive! Stay in your country!

So sad, you don't trash your country on a platform like this no matter challenges that country is going through. At a point in history, Canada was a struggling country but I don't think Canadian talk trashed of their country. It's unfortunate these kids went to colleges in Nigeria at a subsidized rate and the best i will suggest is to not say anything rather than trashing you birth place.\n You will realize after staying in Canada for few years that it's not rosy and easy as you expect and you will be surprised to learnt that some of your colleagues/classmates who stays back and works in Nigeria are living far better than you. Speaking as a Canadian, I couldn't imagine moving to the US. Gun violence, crowds, lack of health care, the prison industry, elected judiciary, heavily polarized politics, racism, the preference for individualism over tactfulness and shunning of people on social assistance are cultural elements I couldn't endure. Despite the fact the weather's often much better, lower air fares or cell rates, abundant shopping choices, interesting places to visit and the friendliness of most Americans, it's a hard no. We already have enough American influence here and sadly, I live in an area led by ignorant politicians who'd like to adopt us policies.

So I’m going to echo a lot of the other comments here regarding gun violence. The number ONE cause of death to children is gun violence. Not illness,not car accidents, not poverty or abuse…GUNS. \nBut here is what I found so strange. I’ve never walked into a place of business in Canada that was so clearly diverse. I went into a ladies clothing store and everyone stopped and looked at me like “what are you doing here” I’m white and everyone else was black. And I was like “ what is going on” I thought, is this a thing? My friend had the same experience. He walked into a barber shop, he’s white and all the men were black. He didn’t get it either. In both cases we were treated very well and when they realized we were Canadian we all understood the situation. Because in Canada that just wouldn’t happen. I wouldn’t want to live in a country where even businesses are segregated. That’s just a sad situation.

Children getting shot being something that actually happens is fuel enough for Canadians to not go to the States. I spent many years there when I was younger. Loved my experience, loved the friendly people. Then Trump came along and all he'll broke loose. You couldn't pay me to live there now. Very sad.

Hmm I wonder why difficult technical jobs are relatively low paying in Canada. Oh right because you're in competition with the entire world, not just other Canadian citizens born and raised in Canada. Canada is effective subsidized the whole world and artificially lowering their own employment standards. As sad as it sounds, there will always be someone talented from a developing nation willing to do your very difficult job which you studied years to be able to do, for barely above the cost of living, because this is still better than their career and life trajectory in their own nation. How many big tech firms in the US have fired thousands of US employees in austerity moves, only then to apply for H1B visa a week later. Why educate, train, employ, and pay fairly American workers, when you can find an immigrant willing to do it for half the price. I'm pro immigration and even pro high special immigration, but the cutoff for H1B visa salaries should be 50% higher than prevailing wages in similar roles. If this position is so specialized and in demand that there simply aren't enough native populations available to do it and schools simply aren't training it, then supply and demand homie, go pay for it. Oil, gas, and petroleum engineering is a great example of this - the US barely teaches this anymore despite there being demand, so we have to hire foreign nationals. Engineering and medicine are examples of oligarchs finding ways to extract the most capital by exploiting people as much as possible. Why pay a reasonable wage for really difficult jobs, when you can find a foreigner willing to do it for barely enough to cover groceries and rent.

The vast majority of these immigrants are not high skilled labour. People need to realise that the only reason Canada is doing this is because its birth rate is so low, they’ve said it many times. They are literally replacing their population and Canadian culture is dying along with it. Canada will be known more and more for being America’s hat if this continues and it will no longer survive as country. All at the cost of actual Canadians. The same thing is sadly happening in Australia. Oh yeah, not to mention 90% of these immigrants are settling in like 5 urban areas. You can tell this is a recipe for disaster.

I'm Canadian and I would move to certain places in the US, but not all, the same as I think of places in Canada. I love and respect that the States are or were the beacon for democracy and freedom of religion and speech. The world has benefitted so much from the freedoms outlined in your constitution but which are now under such extreme pressure to collapse. Canadians on a whole are too lazy and comfortable to fight for what is right. So sad.

I am a born Canadian and never I would move in the US because I've seen a lot of Americans here in Canada and I don't like their behaviors. They behave disrespectfully like they don't care about your culture and your actual country, they act like they are the king of the world, owe everything and they literally just transfer their attitude in your country without trying to adapt, learn and understand the way we are. So to me it's all about their attitude. I also heard while I was traveling in UK that Amricans are the worst tourists for the exact same reasons. I know not all Americans are like that but sadly a good % are.

We as Canadians are not concerned there will be a mass shooting here, just the idea that it is not uncommon, you made a comment that where you live it’s not a concern but it is sadly more likely than anywhere in Canada. I have thought about moving to the US but the benefits are to little, the political divide is to large (based on media). I visit regularly and have seen a concerning trend where the country is getting more divisive.

I'm Canadian and lived in SF for a bit in the 90s. It was fabulous and I had wished I could have lived there longer -- legally. But it isn't that easy for an average Canadian to get a visa to live and work in the states. Made me sad, but now that I see the state of SF I'm good with it now.

No, I wouldn’t. I just moved from Vancouver to London, uk. Lots of people asked why I didn’t move to New York. Main reason is health care. I’m a self employed hairstylist and no one is providing health care for me. Second is gun violence in general, mass shootings are a big issue, just because it hasn’t happened in your small city, doesn’t mean it won’t. Mass shootings are just the most extreme version of gun violence. I don’t want the people walking down the street next to me to possibly be carrying a gun on them. That is truly terrifying to me. Third is that politics are so extreme and so prevalent. Lastly the fact that women’s rights are being taken away. I absolutely cannot support a country with very little benefits and aid for those who cannot afford to have a child, that then makes them have a child. That’s the briefest way I can explain my feelings, I could go on and on, but I’ll leave it at that. \n\nThe only benefit I see in moving to the us from Canada is for certain opportunities, and those come in big cities, so there’s absolutely no point in moving to then live in a small city. \n\nI appreciate that you’re being introspective as you go through the video. Unfortunately gun violence is a massive one for many Canadians, even when they travel to the us. Now that I’m in London, I hear a lot of the same sentiments being mirrored by the Brits. No one wants to lose their health and safety just to move to the us. Personally I do not agree with Batsh_t remark. I would not move to the states. Medical is a huge reason but I would also have no right to vote in either country. If a Canadian is out for more than 6 months we lose our right to vote. Sad but true Oh and Tabernak is the worst swear word in French .Does not really translate properly. Love your people though

So I just want to say just the fact that you have to think about where you want to live for religious, race or safety reasons that is a problem. As a Canadian that travels/moves for work when I look for a town or a city to live it’s how hard is it to visit family/friends is there hiking/fishing/hunting how long do I have to drive to the kids school. I never look at the crime rates in a city, or the number of school shootings, can I get insurance at the new jobs if needed…. And it’s really sad that most of you do.

I will answer this in true Canadian fashion... ya... No. School shootings stats from 2009 - 2018 show USA had 288. The next highest was Mexico with 8. Canada had 2. In the USA 2023 there have been more mass shootings than days so far this year. We love watching the USA but it's a bit like watching a TV drama. We love the people but we watch (in disbelief) the politics and your gun laws confuse us and make us sad. I can't help thinking people in the US are like the frogs in the pot. Put a frog in a boiling pot and it'll jump out. Heat him up over time and he'll boil to death. I think you guys are heating up.

My opinion as a Canadian with no first hand life experience in the states but personally know plenty of people who do and follow many Americans on social media.\n\nI like to look at both sides of the story when I don’t personally know any better. First thing is when it comes to health care, Canadians use only the cost as an argument but never the quality. The only time I will ever use the government funded healthcare is for a broken bone. Any other issues my knowledge and experience makes me stay far and clear away from the hospitals. However I was talking with a retired business man who spends winter in Florida and he said he had a health issue while there, was referred to a certain doctor by a friend, made an appointment within a few days, not a yearlong waitlist, and with one visit had his issues fixed. Paid the bill and was done with it. Not a story of take this for a while then come back, come back to get referred to a specialist, wait a few months for the specialist, get an appointment 6 months later, and after surgery you feel only slightly better because in your mind you should be better. I do believe Canadian healthcare is low quality and sadly designed for the government to make money. American healthcare is private and needs to offer good quality services in order to succeed.\n\n\nNext subject is violence. Everyone I know and follow in the states have never had any major acts of violence towards them. I believe just like Canada, some areas are more prone to violence but since the states have 10x more people, they have 10x more violent spots which makes it seem worse. Rural Canada and rural United States seems to me very similar in the way people treat each other. \n\n\nI wouldn’t be scared to move there if that’s what would be best. Doubt it’ll happen because I enjoy having the amount of unpopulated area to go riding atvs, snowmobiles, and whatever else. Seems like the states have less area that everyone can freely enjoy but I could be wrong

A child brought up in violence cannot know that there is another way of living in a family. So you can't know why this refusal from the Canadians until you have experienced it. Your comment about living in a small community makes you feel safe and family friendly. We (Canadian) seem weird, since we do not support the slightest killing of children in any school in the country. This thought that it is not with us, until... I find it sad because it will only deploy this aggressiveness if it is not stopped and I do not see your policy being concerned about it, rather the opposite

You're proud of your country. \n\nAs a Canadian, I always felt the difference in basic attitudes between our countries may stem from our history of gaining national independence.\n\nYou all fought tooth and nail and are still immensely proud of that accomplishment. \n\nWe negotiated over time. It stands to reason our society would develop into one more invested in peace and negotiation, and even a deeper sense of social responsibility to our fellow citizens' welfare.\n\nI know of many different reasons why I love your country, enjoy visiting, and am glad we are neighbours. Not a criticism, just an observation. Canadians mention school shootings a lot and you kind of blow it off. That to me is really sad because it has become so common place in America that most Americans don't even find it shocking anymore. Not saying that you are fine with it but rather, you become desensitized.

I lived in Canada from 2002 to 2013 and then came back to Brazil because a super job opportunity. I don’t have to say that I love the country and have so many friends in Vancouver. And these friends have started to complain of the country since 2019/2020. It is sad that canadians are having lesser perception of this AMAZING country.

It is a shame that this woman faced some ignorance, but the arrogance of trying to label all Canadians as white supremacists is sad to say the least. I am white and I faced a ton of racism growing up from the indigenous community in my home town. Did I call them all racists? No, what I, and many other Canadians did and still do is make the effort to learn about these other cultures rather than playing the victim and then slandering the good, hard working, tolerant people of Canada. If she has so many problems with racism in Canada, well as our lovely cousins to the south say, leave. After reading more of these comments I now realize my words would fall on deaf ears, so many victims here. I represent a large group of people who do not judge any by the color of their skin, but rather by the content of their character. There are racists every where in the world its a sad but true fact. Western Canada in particularly has this problem within Canada. Alberta where she is located has a significant MAGA type presence of ignorant white supremacist and separatist types. They don't even like other white Canadians from other parts of the country. Canada as a whole though is far better than the US when it comes to acceptance of other cultures. As a Canadian I am sorry for this woman's familys experience, ignorance is not an exclusively American thing.

I think people with You Tube videos promoting Canada as a place to live are paid to do those videos. \nYour assessment regarding Canada is bang on. \nI feel sad for people who come here with the belief that their lives will be better, Only to find out that they are far worse off. \nI've noticed the cost of groceries and housing have tripled in the last few years.\nVery difficult to get a Dr in Canada. 50.000 people in my small province are without a Dr. \nPeople are being neglected by Canada's healthcare system to the point of dying right in the hospital waiting rooms or while waiting for an ambulance. Yet, A huge chunk of taxes go toward healthcare. \nHomeless encampments are on the rise as landlords are gouging people for exorbitant rent. Streets are lined with homeless people and with the high cost of living it could be anyone of us carting our humble belongings around in a shopping cart.\nIf you have children I'd avoid sending them to Canadian schools and opt for homeschooling. Your children will be read to by drag queens while sitting on some strangers lap. \nThis week in class my neighbors son class will be showing boys how to paint their nails. They've already been taught about every kind of sexual position and how to use condoms and butt plugs.
