Ough that opening line hit home. More so when I think of my mother when I left home at 17yrs old to join the Navy never to return to the family home again. I served for 10 yrs ABS never really stopped my adventures and now at 52 all I can think about is when I’ll transition to a remote working life and finally leave the USA for good. Yes there are a lot of issues that needs to be addressed. However, its immature to blame every problem onto immigration. Most of us dont know enough about how things really works. Its not like if we stop immigration then all these problems would be fixed, in fact i think we need this population growth due to low birth rates and lack of labor etc. In my personal experience i see in real life where immigrants are working and contributing in all kinds of fields, such as construction, health care and elderly care … instead of pointing fingers, first educated ourselves on this topic, and then think about how we can make this work, i think that would be more beneficial for everyone.

I don't think I really want to know how much it's costing born and raised Canadians to support the immigrants that are coming. Its the same law in usa. Asylum can be granted to anyone that enters the country, legally or illegally. Not saying this system isnt abused. As a permanent resident who immigrated from Eastern Europe, passed all the stages of the official immigration program (skilled worker) I'm just shocked what is happening in Canada. Personally I think it’s not worth relying on rent pay for your retirement… stock portfolio would be better. If you want real estate income, then buy publicly traded REITs, and even the REITs, buy multiple of them and spread the risk across. We're an IMMIGRANT COUNTRY! The thing is most of the people I know looking to leave or are bothered the most by the massive amount of immigrants or “students” are 1st generation Canadians with Indian or Asian parents. I really don’t think this is even a racial issue, it’s the fact Canada has these bogus colleges that accept basically unlimited amounts of foreign students, it’s pretty obvious they’re not here solely to study but to stay.

The degrees offered by these colleges are worthless and that's why anyone who's moved to Canada in the last 4-5 years is finding it difficult to get meaningful employment.\n\nOn the other side, the Canadian dream really is sold as a cheaper and safer alternative to the American Dream. This is especially rampant in the state of Punjab where people from villages sell their ancestral property to move to Canada as students only to find the stalemate that is the job sector.\n\nThis in turn puts pressure on the economy, the housing market, and the welfare programmes. I think the immigration needs to halt for a while. A LOT of students are lacking in technical and linguistic skills to propel the Canadian economy and society forward and they'll need to not be given Permanent Residencies. PR should go to highly skilled immigrants who are integrating into the Canadian society instead of turning Brampton into mini India.

Wow never know about this. Absolutely crazy this is allowed to go on. So many of us including me are living on the edge barely scraping by, and now we’re being flooded by new people who will take all the cheaper housing. Not there is any cheap housing. And sleeping in your vehicle is now being banned all over because of all the unhoused, which really puts a damper on traveling in an RV or van. I thought of moving to Canada too, but it felt really impractical. Canada is expensive, even to locals. This is what you get when you prioritize corporations over people, making the rich richer, and poor poorer. High rise condominiums bought by tax-evaders, and money launderers from all over the world, instead of livable communities. Happens almost everywhere in the world. As a Filipino watching the economy of USA from afar, I think that no other politician has shown significant concern to help its economy except for Trump. He's pretty bold and not scared to voice out issues that make the democrats uncomfortable. It is not for me to decide who others will vote. However, I see a leader in Trump and he's not afraid to fight back. It's only a matter of time for the Chinese to create its own microchips that are of novelty and prestige. Their economy is of course stagnant as of the moment because many foreign companies pulled out from China. Nevertheless, do you think it's going to be forever? They will cope and soon establish theirs given their population and government financial backing. Trump was right to put trade war against them to regulate foreign trade as it did with Japan. All countries will suffer when the dollar loses the international prestige. It is fastly losing it's international reputation as of these days. If this won't halt, imagine a future where the Chinese RMB will be the basis of international trade. You don't know the real plan of the Silk Road guys. Americans are conquerors and we have adjusted with their ways already. And, the Chinese are conquerors as well. Their goal is to really surpass the USA. The rise of China has benefited every ASEAN member, but greatly the former than the latter. We can adjust with their ways. However, America and Europe may not be that ready to adjust their ways for them should they surpass USA. The USA has become complacent and too liberal where individual rights, although important, have gone too far-fetched. This has created entitled individuals who think they own the world. Now, look at the Chinese. While most young Americans are busy dancing in TikTok and the likes of wasting time for entertainment, most young Chinese are studying hard and upskilling. Let's remember that America became great because of its inventions and extremely the nuclear power. Without great minds, minds that are feebled by drugs and misguided philosophies, a society will crumble. USA can use its weapons and influences against other countries, but can it hold the progress of it's rival economy for the rest of the years? You guys need a leader who is competitive and won't back down from a fight. As of these days, given only two political candidates to choose for presidency, I dare say that Trump has a higher bidding for the goodness of USA. Of course he wasn't able to accomplish his plan before after you guys impeached him. How the hell can a leader complete its plan after being halted unprecedentedly amid his administration? Kamala Harris looks promising but not convincing. Aura, although unquantifiable, do speak something. Choose your leader and it will choose your fate. Hmm I feel so bad for everyone involved in this. I don't really want cartels going over the US border but I really don't mind all the people fleeing from countries that are even worse then the US. So many of them have such horror stories from their native countries. And if they're willing to work here I don't think there should be really a problem. I just really wish they wouldn't all congregate in the big cities and would move more to a lot of the rural places that are losing people. Most Canadians cannot even have proper job anymore. They are left with leftover jobs and yet have to compete with them. Majority of Canadians have more credentials and years experience ahead of them yet they prioritize them. As someone who was born in Canada and left, I wanted to know about some current sentiment, especially by younger people. I think you had some interesting information. I'm actually sad to hear that crime and homelessness has gotten even worse, especially in places like you mentioned, DTES. One thing I want to share with you about the housing issue. Canada acts like a Federation. Meaning that a lot of decision making is delegated to the provincial and municipal level. Yes, Canada has goals for immigration. That's a super valid goal because every developed country is going through declining birth rates. Canada wants to lessen the damage that will be felt by so many other countries like Italy, Germany, China, Japan, etc. The issue with this federated government is like you said, a disconnect between goals and readiness. However, I really feel this will never be accomplishable because of all the lobbying that occurs at the municipal level that the Federal and even Provincial level government cannot control. Yes, there may be shortages in labour to do development, but even then, I really think that lobbying and corruption is keeping adequate supply from being built. From the homeowners and the perspective of the wealthy property owners, they want to keep the valuation of housing high by keeping supply low. Why else is the municipal government keeping such archaic zoning laws? From what I could find, there has been some talk about changing this (https://bc.ctvnews.ca/b-c-to-table-housing-law-targeting-outdated-zoning-rules-1.6627260) but I struggle to see anything really being done. That's probably because of lobbying. The immigration laws set by the government had too many loopholes and flaws ultimately. I don't think we are getting enough productive immigrants. Actually, the opposite seems to occur a lot. The wealthy from the countries I mentioned are abusing the immigration policies in Canada to transfer and preserve their wealth in Canada. I think it has hid in plain sight for a long time, and people have started talked about it in the last 5-10 years because of the struggles of housing affordability from the middle class. What about the immigrants that really want to start a life in Canada and find opportunities like you said? The housing is too expensive for them to do that. My family are Central American immigrants. The vast majority of them have been blue collar hard working people that helped shape what we live in today. I am first generation born Canadian coming from this blue collar family of hard working immigrants that earned their Canadian citizenship. I think most of us who have immigrant family from anywhere have seen this. I cannot necessarily say I’ve seen this type of work or drive to contribute from the Indians that immigrate to Canada. Yes there are some who really contribute, but that should be the norm not the exception. I don’t have anything against them, I just really wished Canada would be more diligent on who they let in and how many they let in. This is the result of just opening the flood gates. Canada has always been multicultural, but you gotta earn your keeps.

Its crappy, I'm at the point in my life where me and my fiancée are making more money then we ever have, but its going no where. We need immigrants, we do not need this much. I go on tiktok and there are tutorials for people coming into this country on how to obtain free food, like from food banks and what not, spite the fact we have minimum funding requirements for students coming here. It sucks, because the minimum isn't high enough for somebody to actually live off, and its taking food away from desperate Canadians who really need it. Some of my best friends are immigrants, and it sucks to try to speak up about it, only to be bashed as a bigot or xenophobic. I'm not either of those things, we just have a HUGE issue caused by a massive influx of people. Its not the people's fault, its the failure of our government. My rent for a 2bd apartment in 2014 was $770 all included, Grocery bill was about 170 every two weeks. That has all tripled in the last 10 years, Legit tripled. *Only mentioning those two, because they have gone up the most, but EVERYTHING has gone up. (about 2-3x) Its crazy to think when I was making 8-10 dollars less an hour, I had more money, it went MUCH further.

All the points mentioned in this video are 100% true. I live in Vancouver, and I'm an international student I really wish I knew the truth about this country before. There is no proper education, too. Everything is self-study and assignments with no campus placements. You won't get good professors in your universities because they are overbooked for the semester, and then you are left with no option but to settle for whoever you get. There's also a lot of exploitation by the desi employers who think they are the king of the world you have to do everything they say so that you don't be jobless all your work experience from India does not count here which means you won't get a decent job and even an intern requires experience of 2-3 years with base pay. The only suggestion I would like to give to the people who are planning to come here is to THINK AGAIN, do your research AGAIN. We cannot undo our years lost, BUT YOU STILL HAVE TIME.

i live in west bengal there is no jobs , no industry , goverment has stopped all the exams , no nothing just everyday or other political scams brkouts which is worth billions of ruppeas just the political leaders are in a dogfight i think that going somewhere else would make a difference i really dont know where to go every place is sometimes i really get very depressed thinking about all this

I am watching this video from Canada and I have 4 words for you - “DO NOT COME HERE!!!” Everything that was mentioned in the video is absolutely true. Canada is facing many problems, unaffordable housing, broken healthcare systems, homeless people, drugs. I am always scared to walk in downtown at night when I’m returning from work. And the worst part is, you cannot even defend yourself here if a homeless person is attacking you. If you do that you will be prosecuted saying that why did you touch that homeless guy and it is a violation of human rights, which is stupid. So does that mean that we should just let a random homeless person kill us?? How does that make sense?? My friend who was having an asthma attack had to sit in the emergency room for 8 hours. If something would have happened, who would be responsible? And the list just goes on. And what does the Canadian prime minister do about that….? Let a guy be a girl and a girls become a guy? What does that even mean??? I have nothing against the LGBTQ people. That’s your life do whatever you want, I don’t care. But there are so many other issues going on in the country and the government is focusing on allowing people to change their genders !! \nAnd the worst part is that a portion of the tax we pay from our hard earned money goes to the homeless people. And what do they do? Buy drugs and start attacking random people. I really feel sorry for this country and the people of this country. \nI always respected my county, India but now I really feel that the sense of security, belongingness, our culture is amazing !!! \nIf anyone is planning to come to Canada for studies, please think again. And if you have already booked your flight, all the best….its going to be extremely tough.

I have been in Canada since 2014, and I have seen drastic changes in the country.\nBut I see you guys talk about protest in the first part of the video, but you did not really tell why they are protesting. \nA lot of students are protesting because they either want free education or they want the universities to make the exams easier for them.\nStudents are being deported because they got to Canada through a fake letter of acceptance. There is no bizarre reason for their deportation.\nStudents are not getting PR because the programs get full. It's not all students. I think you kind of put all students in one clan.\nI have been watching your videos for quite some time, but it seemed like you did not have enough research on it.\nThe drug problem being legal makes no difference to that province. It actually curbs the gang wars and stuff. \nI completely agree with you on the health and housing crisis. But it seemed your research was not at par with what I have seen on your channel before.

This is the main issue in Canada. We are stuck in so many ways. Our economy is the worst in the G7, so we need to mass import migrants to artificially increase our GDP. But with that, our cost of living will artificially stay high from the increased demand on the housing. All while suppressing wages. All while our government refuses to increase our key natural exports, like crude oil, or nuclear materials. We really are in shambles. Really we need to rip the band aid off, and pause all migration from india for the next five years, not even allowing chain migration. Maintain a manageable rate of legal migration (the US normally has 1 million migrants a year as a high, to a population of 300 million). While getting our pipelines built. Stop the woke shit that is destroying us. Right now every housing project requires an 18 month pause to make sure that the native lands are recognized through a corrupt archeological study (ever since the residential school mass grave hoax). Build houses like crazy, allowing for one additional farm land residential severance. And then stop the regulatory suppression from the federal government on corporations. We have zero money being invested into Canada and it will lead to us having a worse economic outlook than Mexico in less than ten years. Imagine the world thinking of Canada as a third world country. That's where we are heading without some serious shift in how we approach our policy.

I'm surprised to see Quebec rated NO. 1. But beside being the most taxed place in North America and the bad governments, it's really a good place to live. I think it's the best place in the world to live, for a trans person like me.

I was really lucky to visit Toronto in 2000-2002 and practice some Portuguese and Italian. The first time, I came by train from Chicago and arrived at 1 AM. I was scared as I waited for the trolley on Dundas St. But to my surprise there was a young lady enjoying the late night and she even talked to me (something that wouldn't happen in Southern CA). I discovered that if was safe to walk until 2 AM in Toronto. It was really pleasant to explore Little Portugal, Chinatown and other neighborhoods. I remember that it hit the 30s with some humidity, but the reward was taking a bus to Niagara Falls at 50% off for being a student. However, I was sad to discover that the old transportation is gone, and prices have skyrocketed (food and hotels). It's not just Covid-19, but the corruption of thousands of politicians in NorthAmerica that have started wars and the flow of drugs and people. I would never think that Canada could change so drastically. But I still think that Toronto could be enjoyable ( what I really didn't like was the subway, since the stations are far away from important sites as opposed to Montréal that is so convenient). I still remember how Pearson airport was enjoyable to walk. But to see encampments like LA, SD or SF in Toronto is really sad. Hopefully, in the near future it gets cleaned up. You can't destroy what took decades to build and admire in a few years. Safety is always a concern in 2024, but Toronto is much better than CA.
