Born in Canada. Dad is American. Mom is Canadian. Lived in both (Ontario Canada, Pennsylvania, Texas, Florida). \nI moved back to canada just after 9/11. Dad thought my brother and I would get drafted. \n\nHealth care sucks for different reasons. The horror stories I can tell you that I'm STILL going through here in Canada is insane. \n\nLived in Texas just outside austin south/east going towards Lockhart. Different breed of human beings down that way. I loved Austin. Great food, good people. Though my dad caught shit because his parents Sicilian. Dude is a little less brown than aba. People thought he was Mexican. \n\nOther than Slag hills. Loved Pennsylvania. \n\nFlorida.. its Florida. Lived in Daytona. Too young at the time to have fun. I am an American born in NY, raised in VA. I also lived in Van Nuys for a year, also lived in Texas before my job industry moved me to Canada. \ni have been in Canada for 7yrs, been to Vancouver, Toronto and MTL and to be honest i like a lot of things in Canada like the health care differences and of course the lower insulin cost for my husband but i still want to go back home. If anything i would stay in Toronto because it's the closest similarity to home but where Aba and Preach live, in Montreal, it's literally been my nightmare. I feel like the tap water at least in my area has gotten worse over time. \nOne thing i feel like they didn't mention that I have to tell people from America to watch out for is the credit card vs debit card thing. \nI grew up only having debit cards because i didn't want to get into debt. when i came to Canada i continued getting a debit card and realized the hard way that not everything accepts debit cards and you NEED to also have a credit card to access certain things.\nbut overall i do feel much safer in Canada even though the crazy trump lovers are showing up here and there it's significantly less than i see when I'm back home.

To confirm as an American. Yes, it seems like everyone wants to put hot sauce and cheese on everything and it's annoying. The tap water here is bad unless you get it from the fridge or have a filter. Here in Arkansas, I think our spring water is great.\n\nRegarding the city and getting around to restaurants and other areas, pretty much. A good portion of our factories are on acres of land. However, some are still close enough that you can walk to. I'm certain this is hardly different from Canada but we are 97% rural. People think of America as big cities but usually its the local town and a pumpkin patch. When Aba said America is like 40 different countries, he ain't wrong. \n\nFirearms is ingrained in our culture. That's a given. I see a lot of people mention safety and this is what I can say; I felt my safety was compromised by a tornado warning. Trouble can happen but if you don't deal drugs or do some under the table stuff, usually you won't be a victim of a crime. \nI'm planning on owning some land myself so I can shoot on it, farm, and raise a family. Just be independent.

According to the Americans I've talked to both who have moved to Canada and still live in America, Canada is far better than America. There's plenty of evidence showing the reasons Canada is the better country overall. The main amount of people who move from Canada to America are rich and/or corrupt people because why would you want to move somewhere that offers you less? The working conditions in America are abysmal and the economy and infrastructure are both falling apart at their unrestrained Capitalism. The USA is getting a lot of people from Africa and South and Central America, and I imagine many will go back because Americans do have to work hard and if you come from a country that has warm weather year-round it is going to be a huge shock. I went there because I was fed up in my country and when I returned it was worse than when I left. As I am now 68, if I can afford to leave again I will and I'll never return again. I told the Chinese who knew me I was returning because I missed the land, but I never really missed the people. Now that I'm back, since Jan. 2022, I want to leave again and I will and Never return. Health care in this country is in the Sh*t-house, it's impossible to get a family Dr. In part I returned for medical reasons, but now would rather die than have to deal the the Canadian medical bureaucracy - REALLY !!! My wife, my 3 kids and I used to like Vancouver but not anymore!!! The weather is why we plan to leave for good but also the expensive rents! I also heard about horror stories at many hospitals (and yes, I have worked in Africa and to be honest, Africans hospitals are way more functional than the ones in Canada in terms of human aspect… there they care, Canadians do not give a shit about anyone!!! And I am saying this as a Belgian!!! I have some African colleagues at work here and at least 80 percent of them either want to go back to Africa (one is actually going to start an Afro business there and build his own house) or move to Europe (one of them plans to live to my homeland Belgium and two others in France as apparent the pensions there are way better than the Canadian one) as soon as they get enough experience in canada! None of us at work , including me, want to retire or get old here in Canada! For me personally, it is the Canadian extreme loneliness and lack of willingness to open to others that really shuts me down… I am fed up and and tired of paying taxes in a country where some (not all) hospitals and some retirement homes treat patients like … objects, not human beings! I can agree with these comments if your not American, growing up we had all that interaction with family, friends and neighbors. Life n times have changed in America due to gun violence, especially in large cities. Socializing is different in every state in America and in every country. I can understand how if your not accustomed to our ways of life even today, that you would prefer your ways of living back in your hometown and your Country. If you live in a big City in America and moved there from a smaller town in America, you will be feeling some loneliness, that's normal to us in America. If your American then you adjust to making n meeting new people, that hasn't been so easy with the pandemic for anyone. To compare our homes in one community from another or even from another country, is just criticism. We don't have a specific way of living, as far as our homes are constructed. This is how as American's we have always lived, small homes, large homes, big cities, small towns. Since the pandemic we do find ourselves spending more time inside due to no fault of our own. We do have different ways of living but so do other countries which we do enjoy when we visit. If you want to learn more about America and our lifestyles and history, you should do that. Every Country has it's government rules n law's and we try to abide by them, that's what makes our Country n Our Nation Great, that's also why many people come here to visit or work and study. Loneliness can be anywhere, depending on the person you are and reaching out to make new friends or just acquaintances is important. Especially, if your away from friends n family from home or a different Country. ✌️

I disagree with your analysis, I'm Asian American and most of my friends are all different colors and races. Allot of us have a very active lifestyle, if your an indoor type of person then you will obviously prefer staying indoors. I think why most people want to immigrate to a America is economical and social freedoms. I'm sure it might be very exciting in Africa, but Its chaotic, lawless and economically depressed. But if that's what you rather have than I suggest you stay where you came from.

Brother, You are so right! But, I am a african American who grew up in the 70’s. It wasn’t like this until blacks integrated with whites. We had fun in our neighborhoods just like you described. Any neighbor could correct us. We could just go to the neighbors house to play. I grew up in Chicago and we had block parties with dancing, games, food sand talent shows. We played games in the street after school. When we left our black communities we had to behave like whites who don’t want to socialize with us. That’s what you see where you live. So they suffer and stay inside their houses. I left Chicago for university and moved to Newark, New Jersey and it was life there too! So many cultures, people walking, languages, music, vendors on the street. Puerto Rican’s, Haitians, Dominicans, and Africans. You should be some place like that. But many places in America “now” are boring like where you showed. Move!!!

Especially Africans Americans who do not know that Canada has African-Canadians too and other people of color also. Similarly, Canada and America are very related in just about everything. I know me being a American, if I was not a American. I would want to be a Canadian. Having been station at Grand Forks Air Force Base, North Dakota and Ellsworth Air Force Base, South Dakota. I am familiar with the weather in Canada. The mistake I made was not to travel to Winnipeg, having spent over 6 years in North Dakota, I regret that so much especially during the summer time. America is more racist but immigrants can and are accepted as Americans and can access the life of anyone in society. On the other hand Canada wants immigrants it can abuse, forming an underclass they can stand on top of. And while initially it’s a big step up, it’s frustrating that you or your children are never given the opportunity to progress.\n\nI can tell you from experience that going from a high social strata of society in your home country to going to an underclass is very jarring.
