And now some uf US commentators are saying the same. It’s crazy. And there will be no way to get him to remember the facts. He and all who work for him are liars and half truth tellers. I’m not sure how to deal with this. But it is VERY important for all media outlets to keep reminding the facts. Just tell what happens, so there is a record. 1/2: Myself and the saner half of the US that read, understood, and voted against Proj 2025 understands why they need to levy retaliatory tariffs especially as a Michigander who's lived less than 4 hours from Canada all her life, who has family in Quebec and Ontario, and is a job-seeking policy professional and international trade nerd who now cannot in good faith seek a job in the federal government. We have been looking and still do look to Canada as a model quite a bit and love Canada and Canadians to pieces. We Michiganders especially in the central and eastern UP and Detroit and Ann Arbor area are friends, coworkers, and family of Canadians. Some are even dual citizens. Maybe he should discuss the constant duty fees and border crossing fees for anything shipped from Canada to the USA that have been constantly rising for years; fees that his very own government sets. Maybe he should talk about Canada demanding that anyone that sells anything foodwise to anyone in Canada from the USA has to have a special Safe Food For Canadians Food License or the goods being shipped will be rejected at the US owners cost, seized by the border and held in storage at the US owners cost, and destroyed and billed to the US owner. A license that no one actually needs considering other legal and ethical controls are in place to prevent unsafe foods from crossing the border, but Canada reserves the right to make us pay for one or we suffer consequences. Maybe he should discuss how they left their borders open to migrants, making it much easier for criminal migrants to get into the US. Maybe he should understand that the US has always been bleeding money to Canada on a trade level for about half a century with it getting much worse in the last decade because Canada's government are greedy. Before any of you come at me, keep in mind I work in the food ingredient industry as an order processing, logistics and customs & border crossing and have done so for 15 years. These tariffs were a long time coming and if any of you are on the inside of trade in the manner I am, then you know what I'm saying is true. The US is constantly paying additional tariffs by way of duty fees, customs fees, certain applied taxes (like there is literally a blueberry tax to ship US grown blueberries into Canada to prevent US blueberries from taking over the Canadian blueberry market). The blueberry tax is about 25cents per lb. which drives the price per lb. up for the seller and buyer. You wanna know why Food costs so much? All of the above with a huge side helping of GREED.

Netherlands here: Trump HAS to impose tariffs because he promised it a zillion times during his campaign. As a major narcissist he cannot afford to say that he made a mistake, and therefor: tariffs. I predict however that this period will not last very long. Only as long as necessary to make it possible for Trump to say that they didn't work out as planned because of some reason.

Whats the last interesting thing Canada has done since the Canadarm? \n\nI can think of a number of achievements the rest of the world has done, including many 3rd world countries. But Canada is the same old. This has become our Culture. We don't talk about new ideas. We witness them online, but we're not Creators. We are Consumers. And that is what I think happened to Britain after they got resettled after WWII. Britain is pretty dry. And so is Canada. Hence our forest fires!

The rule in Canada is ‘my adult children cannot afford to buy in the neighborhood they grew up in!…housing prices have to go down!\n\nWhat they really mean is they want their next door neighbours to sell THEIR house for $250,000, but still want their own hose to be worth $2.8 million (after paying $135,000 for it in 1985 - like my older sister and her family)….\n\nSorry it doesn’t work that way….oh, and forget about them voting for parties which restrict immigration - if immigration goes down, so will the regular increases in the price of housing….

An average 3 bedroom home in Ontario is like 750k+, unless you go somewhere where there's like no jobs then they are like 600k, and probably need a lot of work

Boomers in Canada are very nimby thus making housing so much harder to build, leading to younger generations emigrating to other countries like south of the border. Also eating up lands zoned to industrial, and thus making industrial rent more expensive to the remaining patches of land available on city outskirts. \n\nMaybe it’s time to review the policies overall. Canada has been treating its older generations like kings, with their large lawns and healthcare which they frequently use…while younger generations and immigrants work like a slave.

I live in the suburbs of Seattle. I need to win the lotto to move. I'm a sick vet that needs multiple surgeries. I apply for help in my home. All that I get assigned to my house are asylum foreigners that come in to pretend to work....my house is still dirty and they don't help me while I grocery shop...they sit all day SLEEP and play with their cell phones!!! As a vet I'm so close to give em a kick out the door But I just tell them that I have to take a short trip...tell them to go wait in there car till I get back ... I text the agency to tell them to clock out and go home. First time, I told one to leave my house, she SNAPPED on me.
