They should bring skilled Inmigrants with a career path to ensure they not ended up taking advantage of EI and welfare as many do . Fed up of lazy people coming to Canada to abuse the system . As an immigrant myself who came 12 years ago I had to work 2 jobs and study at night French to be able to adapt. When I came I already had a university degree and then did my masters degree here in Canada . At the end it pay off I had a good job now. The main requirement for people coming to Canada should be an university degree at least as in the past . That shows you are able to learn and adapt to new things plus you have knowledge about a specific field .

I have hard about two interviews from Canada after applying for LMIA job and at the end they will tell me that they like my experience but they needed someone already in Canada and the last interview i hard last year was seriously asking me if i have already gotten my visa approval to come to Canada and i said no, which i ask them to accept me and give me any necessary documents that i can used to apply for my visa and they said no. That has been my challenge so far and am tired of applying for a job outside Canada ?

My country is planning on opening up to Indian immigrants at the end of the year. People are outraged as our society cares a lot about cleanliness and manners which India is not really known for. However, we are only allowing the elite and educated ones in to our system. Why? Because look at what happened to all the western world now that is dealing with mass immigration. But to be fair though, I had work with Indians in my previous jobs and some are pleasant to work with. But a lot are not. I got bullied and being called ‘Chinese’ even though I am not.

We don't need immigrants here They can leave there's tons of people that need jobs It's just jobs don't end up paying us correct immigrants will take up the abuse and allow lower wages and long hours. And they won't say anything\nDeportes immigrants you only need PhDs\nI want to work I want a job that pays me decently that I can retire in like 20 years of hard work or at least 30 years\nBut no the GM place They don't hire people like me because I'm white I'm a male and I'm not an immigrant. And the wage sucks only 20 bucks an hour Canadian what am I supposed to do with $3,000 a month I can barely even afford anything what am I supposed to live off of Mr noodles you need like a job that pays 45 bucks an hour just a live a decent life and even then you're never going to retire there is no hope

Harrison, you've laid it all out here in plain English. Even the immigrants are mumbling and stumbling over each other these days. Many younger (under 50) Canadians among us have been indoctrinated by our education system with it's left leaning doctrine, to believe this massive influx of immigrants is good and as it should be in Canada. Naturally they have no model to compare with other than stories from their elders as to how things used to be. So they have blindly accepted the status quo without question. \nOf course, many(most)politicians, teachers, professors, reporters etc. being members of this same under 50 age group have reinforced this lie. As you've clearly pointed out, at the end of the day are those that profit from such a policy, like employers large and small, landlords and of course politicians who reap the favors of those in the winners circle. And the losers, all those in the under 50 age groups who scratch their head and wonder why they have no job, no medical care, no house and no future. Good post!

The man interviewed at the end is why our son left the country for Europe after graduating from Queens. Canadians are addicted to immigration to stay relevant in a way not seen in other countries. There's a smug quality to it all. Oh how wonderful and accepting are we - in contrast to those Trump people to the south. Here in Halifax the changes are both stunning and alienating as the premier seeks to double the province's population by 2060. My family and I immigrated from the U.S. 20 years ago, and I doubt any of us will remain here much longer. Living in Canada has made me realize how Canadian I am not. I actually stand for something. I have spent my life time. Life was great in the 80s and 90s. Time to live, enjoy, lots of job opportunities and saving. One person working could feed the whole family and it was a family system with shows that focused on family and discipline. Now after 40 years, its just the opposite. Gov taxes, more taxes, and at the end you are living pay check to pay check. They want to train your kids, they want both the husband and wife to work and give them half the salary.

Toronto people complain that really all they get is two, true warm months of summer. June is sort of warm, but it can be cold at night and suffer cold snaps. Finally warm August comes to an end. While many Americans to the south struggle through an Indian summer of continued high heat into September and even early October, September brings the cold temperatures back to Canada, not yet freezing, mind you, but full autumn where the jackets have to come out and you don't see the welcome, warm, sunny sunshine and the ability to sit outdoors wearing thin clothing.

I am facing homelessness due to a man buying the 4 plex I live in that is lower cost living and is kicking us all out to get more money and it is allowed in Canada to kick people out just to get more money so this will be me at the end of May

I was born and raised here and lived here all my life, but I don't recognize it anymore. It is dirty, not well-kept, has a serious problem with homeless people and customer service is non-existant any where. Food prices are insane, rents are crippling people and as a pensioner I never have any money at the end of the month (and I was a teacher and owned my own home). It is no longer the place I knew and loved, and I wish I could leave.

Word of caution, in regards to climate , too hot is worse than too cold.....if you end up somewhere without air-conditioning , it is going to be much worse then having access to heating in winter.....been there , so I know :) Another comment, try to separate religion from politics,. If you were born in Canada, you might not be fully aware of the difference between democratic and non-democratic societies. Religion only is not enough to make you happy, and having two girls and willing to risk their rights, require at least a conversation with someone that knows more about it. I have my own experiences and it seems to me that you idealize societies in which these rights are non-existent . You are right, Canada has become a very different country than it was when I first got here, but is still far cry from where you are planning to go. Beware of things that people are not saying , and have your due diligence done for the sake of your children.

We came to Canada in seventies, and it takes at least 5 to 8 years to settle here. These days, people are doing well in India. There is no need to move here. Canada has also changed a lot. I know people who came to Canada returned to india after 5 months. Not once twice. They came back and are well settled. I will say if people are doing good in India and have a big circle of family and friends in India. Then they won't be happy here. Finding a good job takes years in some case. It's your luck too if you find a decent job then you will be ok. The worst thing here is long winter. You get tired of cold and snow. Now the cost of living is very high, renting or buying a house is very expensive. In the end, most people make it.

in the morning when you wake up, reflect on the day ahead and aspire to use it to keep a wide open heart and mind. At the end of the day, before going to sleep, think over what you have done. I came to Canada in Jan 2022 on permanent residence from India and returned back to India in November 2023. My reason to move to Canada was, I moved back to India for personal reasons after living in USA for 10 years (studies + work). I moved to Canada because I missed US, and thought it was difficult to adjust in India, and US would never give me green card anyway (due to country of birth quota). I moved to Canada with a job in hand, but opportunties are limited here. On top salaries are low, even compared to India. Healthcare is a disaster. In US, I could see a doctor next day. I had 4 surgeries done in US, multiple CT scans and countless X-rays. Never had an issue. In Canada, despite paying high taxes I fear of not able to get medical treatment and wait for months to see specialist. \nSlowly I realized, this country is not USA anyway and was naive of me to think of it as a viable replacement. I ended up returning back to India, as in end I realized India has issues, Canada has different ones but in India at least I can earn well (70 to 80K CAD while 2 BHK costs me like 500 CAD per month, 300,000 CAD for luxurious 3.5 BHK) and I can be close to my parents, the reason for which I left US. I will always miss US though. As long as I have family in India, I will never think of settling anywhere else. But the only country I would ever consider in future is USA.

As someone who has been in Canada my entire life (except the odd travels), I would leave Canada if I could. Unfortunately I have family circumstances that require me to be available for my family in a short timespan (so I've bought a house within one hour drive from my parents with my partner). But if my life circumstances were different (and I can convince my partner) - I'd be out of Canada within a few months, once I find a job overseas. It's quite depressing here and I don't see the light at the end of the tunnel. \nNote: I do not live in the Toronto area or the Vancouver area but still a pretty medium/large city.

Oh as a second note, if any immigrant is watching this and is considering moving here. DON'T. And it's not because your not wanted which by the way is a growing trend with Canadians wanting less immigration. But simply for the fact that Trudeau and his policies for the past 8 years has damaged this nation beyond recognition. There is a good chance you'll end up with a low wage job or pan handling to make money (I've seen such a massive increase in immigrant pan handlers the past few years, it's unsettling). Its going to take at least a decade of reversing and implementing new policies to get Canada back on track to where it was 10 years ago, then take another decade to catch up to where it should be now. So if you do end up here and didn't heed my warning, then at the very least DO NOT VOTE LEFT (Liberal, NDP, Green) because it's these parties especially Liberals that has gotten us to this point.

Never mind. For one that leaves there are 50 in line waiting to immigrate to Canada. In a globalized world you can live where you feel more comfortable. Some Canadians and immigrants move because they can not stand those looong winters. Some move because they think Canada is too liberal. But at the end of the day , you must adapt to Canada. Canada, its weather and polices will NOT adapt to you.

Instead of looking at it as people coming look at as debt crime and the collapse of the our country. There are not enough jobs for the people already here so all these people will end up on some form of public aid straining whatever city the go to and when we can’t sustain any more and collapse all of them will return to their country of origin and go about their lives while we sit In the ruin. So unless your letting them move into your house and you support them without any state or government help then shit your mouth and finish the wall

I agree with all your points but also I somewhat think this is a defeatist mentality , I think you should stay regardless I'm an immigrant to Canada and I am staying here till the end. Doesn't mean I won't move around and do projects abroad if I can for business, or for Islam, but I am not leaving definitively because my goal is to take advantage of all the opportunities at my disposal to achieve my goals.

I am a resident with Muscular Dystrophy in a wheel chair. I am exhausted! I work 5 days a week 8-10 hours a day and I do not feel well at all. I have no choice but to work because I cannot afford to move - What I pay for rent in his city is insane already. There is no where for me to go and there is no way I can find a cheaper place. I feel like I am living a nightmare to be honest. It just getting harder and harder and it seems like the people in Toronto are getting colder and colder. There are no social programs with enough funding and disability income is impossible because it doesn't even scratch the surface of rent costs. Food is completely out of control too. It just feels like I am circling the drain and the will end up homeless eventually. People with disabilities are treated very poorly in this province but in Toronto it is especially cruel and cold.

I think people who leave the country is because don’t have the skills that required for the high cost of living specially in the biggest cities like Vancouver ,Toronto ,although Montreal was less expensive to live in compared to the others ones, \nNew immigrants coming to Toronto finds almost impossible to find a reasonable accommodation due to the high demands for housing ,family’s ‘re the most affected, One big reason some people are returning home is because the minimum wages at 18 dollars an hour -40 hours work , 2,880.00 dollars, minus tax, take home is 2,448.00 taxable at the rate of 15 %, , now your rent for one bedroom ,600 square feet cost $2.000 dollars a month , leave you with 448.00 to cover food, transportation , and utilities, at the end you haven’t save any money , So what to do just go home

I don't understand why strict islam believers choose non islamic countries to settle in. There are so many countries in middle east, feels like half the countries have a muslim majority. Why not be comfortable living there. At the end of the day it is important to feel safe and also have a sense of belonging to where u settle down. How can a muslim ever feel that when prayers over loudspeakers are also banned. I feel like many muslims dont value their religion enough to settle in a muslim country and then when they face backlash in non-muslim country they start behaving like a victim. One cannot expect to be in an entirely different cultural environment and still force a different culture to their children. It restricts the children from integrating well in the country. When a parent from a different culture decides to raise children in a country which have a different culture, it is obvious that children will be exposed to this other culture. If that is not okay to parents, then they should not do children in a different country but rather in a country where they are blessed with their own culture. There is a choice for most people, and I am glad that you all chose it. Its beautiful to see people living in peace and in harmony with their religion. I love watching you all and hopefully you are able to encourage more muslims to choose an Islamic country to settle in, rather than being victims or having to fight in Non- Islamic countries due to western influence. I'm Canadian born and raised.The main problem is too many people are left leaning so we have the same problems as California,to much bureaucracy,high taxes,crime,homelessness,drugs etc that's all a biproduct of liberalism.High taxes are needed to fund left wing policies like the climate scam,giving billions to ukraine,womens groups,gay groups etc the useless bureaucrats have to justify their position so millions of unnecessary and pointless policies are imposed.I'm a welder and the bs you have to go through is so extream many just give up and do something else.As for immigrants it effects them too so we have doctors driving cabs or nurses working at mcdonalds etc these problems really started to be an issue when Canada got progressive in the mid 90s and never recovered.I heard 50k of born and raised Canadians have been leaving every year for the last 3 years with no end in sight.My countrymen need to wake up and dump left wing thinking and bring back the conservatism from the past that built this country or there won't be a Canada.

I live in NYC, and have been to Canada at least four times, but the last time I was there was quite some time ago. I always had a good thought about Canada, because it seems like some of the problems we have in this city, Canada also has in some way. Right now the city is a complete mess; at post pandemic and with a bit of a recession and a noticeable increase in groceries to basic things like cat food and tissues. That's not the biggest problem, it really is the legislation or lack of for people who not care for themselves. Those homeless people are almost not helpable and I don't feel threatened by them, but other people definitely do. The way the government has handled these undocumented migrants is a complete disaster and couldn't have come at a worse time. We have a serious housing crisis as well, and people can end up paying for high rent, for not the best places, but they want to live in a certain location. The migrants are coming in at about 60k in the last two weeks. You see mothers with little kids or babies selling candy all over the trains and it's becoming too much. Many see it as a form of child abuse or exploitation and we do not respect it at all. I think they feel we are weak and will just pay double for something we don't need. At one station today I must have be approached 3 times and interrupted 2 times while using my phone. It's just too much and we already have a lot of immigrants here, so I'm not sure where these people believe they will find any meaningful employment and the cold is coming. I wasn't born here, but came legally as an infant. I think the border situation is a disaster and it's obvious to a lot of people that the government lets things happen that will definitely effect citizens in the next couple of decades. The city is crowded enough and I do not know where this is all going, people do not want undocumented migrants house a few hundred feet from a childrens school. I just don't understand how they let this happen....I guess this is how Biden does things and all the groups that cheered buses pulling in when it first started are dwindling down....they just want them passed on to someone elses responsibility, but wouldn't want them as neighborhors necessarily. It's a lot of hypocrisy here. Canada seems better in some places, and the same in others.

Hi, I was born and raised in the UK to Pakistani parents. My dad was also born and raised in the UK but my mum was born in Pakistan and came to the UK when she got married. Since 2019 we were planning to move, even though my family live in the UK, so it was going to be hard. We were moving for the purpose of education and better our selves in deen (faith). My dad was worried about our future and what things we would learn. Unfortunately my grandmother passed away in October 2020 when we least expected it. May Allah grant her the highest rank in jannah. Aameen. So we delayed the move till I finished secondary school (Highschool). In May/June 2022 I took my final exams and we booked our tickets to move to Pakistan at the end of August 2022, so I could get my results. Opec plus could end this in a day by saying that if there is no ceasefire, then they will not sell anymore oil to Israel or do business with them at all. \nStill no ceasefire? Then they cut production globally sending the price of oil and fossil fuels through the roof. In a week after the price of gas goes through the roof in the US, Biden will stop sending arms to Israel and he and the US government will force Israel into a ceasefire. \nThat is what Opec plus could do to create the 'conditions' for a ceasefire and it would work. \n \nNo more war.\n\nBut they are not doing that are they?\nYou have to wonder why.
