Proud of our Canadian leadership ?Trump and his administration are trying to destabilize North America. Their end-game is authoritarianism on the model of Russia itself. Apparently Putin never speaks about Canada, just as he never used to utter the name of Navalny... Curious...

Mr Trump says the Tariff is good for America economy. He spoke about that in Congress. Of course it will have a boomerang effect but certainly he and his administration have discussed about it and decided the best for America.

As a British person never have I disliked America as much as i do at the moment. Trump and his administration is nothing but a bunch of bullies!\n\nThe Western allies need to stand up against him and his regime and sanction/tariff America. It is the only way, the American people and Trump will see what they are doing to the world.\n\n?????????????????

He behaved like a politician, all emotional knee jerk reactions are from upper grass mongers , sadly majority in the society are filed with such people. \nDevil is always in the details. His local reputation is not good and to loose upcoming elections , to divert and shift focus, this is an attention diverting tactics to shift attention and make him look like a hero. \nIf he really cared for his people, he would have either prevented it by aggressive backdoor talks or, or if this happened without his awarness then he could have spoken privately to Trump to sort it out in the real interest of his own nation, cut the ego for Good of his own people and an sort it out , why he did not do it ?\nNow by publically engaging and directly targetting, he has achieved two things 1. temporary fame as majority of people are upper grass mongers are emotional but no attention to details 2. He spoiled further his relationship with Trump administration by this public spat, rubbing him on the wrong side, spoils future of his own people. Diplomacy is done by maturity not by ego.

As a Canadian I'm still in shock and can't make any sense of what Trumps doing. We do everything for the USA and are close Allies..I lost respect for Trump and his administration.

I was a big fan of Trump, his administration and policy until last, week and now. I came to realize DT take things personal at times. I might be wrong, just my thoughts

As long as Trump and his administration align themselves to dictators and impose outrageous tariffs on our allies and head toward an authoritarian government, all countries from the free world need to fight back against these unfair tariffs being imposed by the Trump administration. New torch bearers for the free world and the unified free world needs to decouple from an undependable, disloyal, Trump led US. Trump is tarnishing the legacy of the US in real time.

European here; Trump and his administration completely disqualified themselves as leader of the free world. It will take time to undo the complete fall-out, but I know there are Lots and lots of Americans who disaprove his approach. I am with you and know you are the force for good, as Americans have instilled this in the past. Unfortunatly it will get worse, before it gets better.

I stand with Canada. Mr. Trump is a traitorous poison working for all intent and purposes for Vladimir Putin and as such, he is a major threat to the national security to this country, Canada, Europe and the world. He and his criminal administration must be removed before they cause the collapse of the west.

Canada has known for decades that we have put too many eggs in one basket - selling our resources primarily to the USA. We've had tariffs before and worked with them. Yet we still keep selling to the USA. This time is different. In conjunction with the tariffs, we have an American administration that is flat out insulting Canada. Saying we wouldn't exist economically if it wasn't for the USA. It's at a time when the USA won't promise not to use military force to annex land (Greenland) from a decades old ally. A time when clearly Putin is calling in his chips for whatever he has over Donald Trump. Canadians have had enough. We are directing our governments, provincial and federal, to finally, finally break from the north-south trade links. We need to establish stronger east-west trade links. The resources we have are wanted by many countries if the USA does not want them. It does mean much work within Canada. We need to get our AB-BC pipeline finished as well as the new sea terminal so we can ship our crude oil and natural gas to Japan and if need be, to China. We finally need to get out pipeline to the Atlantic coast finished so we can supply the UK and EU with our products. We need to double our rail capacity for shipping potash, uranium, rare minerals to Asia or Europe. Just as Trump hopes for a golden age of American companies coming home and building new plants in the USA, this will be a golden decade for Canada to create transportation corridors to get our resources to other buyers. America will have to look elsewhere for his raw materials. And we all know what that is - RUSSIA. They've already offered their rare minerals and crude oil. This is all clearly a well thought out scenario from the people working behind Trump to dismiss America's allies and trading partners - have us turn against the USA - as the excuse to open the door to Russian imports into the USA.

Anyone notice how MAGA griped about food prices and the cost of living in general during the Biden Administration but seem perfectly content with high prices with Trump in there. Biden deported more people during his term than Trump did during his first term but MAGAs don't want to acknowledge that.

Drug use in America, particularly the fentanyl crisis, is a significant issue that requires attention from the government. If American citizens weren't using fentanyl, the demand for it in the market would decrease. However, during his administration, Trump often shifted responsibility for problems rather than addressing them directly. Additionally, the tariffs he implemented had widespread negative effects, impacting people both domestically and globally for the benefit of his administration.

Trump and his administration of idiocy and chaos are traitors. Siding with Putin proves that. How do we remove him and Musk??

Trump is acting destructive everywhere, where he engages. He is destroying his country because the prices in USA will go up quickly and long lasting and their stocks will fall dramatically. Inflation is USA will soar and get out of control. His policies are firing back on his own economy.\n\nCanada will have little ore none impact from these tarrifs, they will overcome this initial shock quickly and recover. They will find better partners and other ways to trade. But USA won't find anybody any more who is willing to deal with him, everybody will avoid engaging with his administration, because they are acting ruthless. Trump isn't considering the ends of his decisions and he obviously doesn't care because he is an irresponsible person without a concience. He won't be able to do harm to other countries than to his own, he only destroys USA, because they elected him and they are following him on his way so far. The opposition in USA will become louder and much more influential and Trump will lose more and more companions in his own party.

We don’t want this either, and the current administration is not MY government and I know so many people who feel the same way. Trump and his cohorts are a danger to the American people and I am disgusted and ashamed that he is the ” leader” of my country. We stand with every true democracy against this tyrant and all who support him and his plot to destroy the United States!

As an American who opposes - STRONGLY opposes - the Trump administration and everything it stands for, I am sorry for what our country's government is doing to the rest of the world but especially to our oldest, closest allies. \n\nThe MAGA faithful will remain faithful even as the prices of virtually everything goes up and up and our economy tanks. They believe what comes out of Trump's mouth no matter what it is, no matter how obvious reality proves him wrong. Those of us who know what Trump really is have known what he's really about since the beginning. He's about himself and nothing more. The US has spent more than 409 billion since 2003 on such operations. Regardless, I feel for you Canadians and it sucks that it has come to this and I hope we keep strong relations in the future. Hopefully we can come to a fair deal soon. Mexico and China are the big players that do not do nearly enough to prevent these crimes. In fact, the Mexican government helps the cartels by not trying to stop them. China's lack of regulation on the ingredients to make fentanyl contribute to a large extent to this tragedy as well.
