I love Punjabi people, they are high class and they surprise me when they tell me they were farmers before coming to canada because I don't get that rugged vibe from them. That guy at 2:50 was purhaps the most honest 'white' guy you will meet. The fact is Indians didn't take over, the upper class just decided to move north to Bolton or more west to the Halton area. Over time enough Indians replaced them to basically take over important roles like police officers and political positions. Eventually just like East Asians have Markham and parts of Scarborough, the south Asians had a high enough population for Brampton to be considered their home turf. Eventually though it was the student visas that drove Canadians crazy. Millions of students in record time and I believe there was an additional 4 million who came on temporary work visas during covid, eventually Canadians got annoyed. Personally I don't see any problem with it as long as we keep building apartments and homes for the new immigrants to rent and live it doesn't bother me. I would like to see three times more immigration especially from Europe as this country is super underpopulated and we need people to open factories and build companies that will strengthen Canada as a whole and employ our own not just send money back to their countries. So its not an invasion we just need come to a place of understanding and learn to work together. I will finish with the one negative; there truly is a massive lack of assimilation and this may prove to be more of a problem than we realize but I won't go into it. I was unemployed for a short period of time at Maple Lodge Farm and another packing company and all workers were Indians and they were rude people. These companies should be raided by the police and they will catch a lot of students hiding there. The immigration should open a site where citizens or legal residents can report these people. tyler i don't think u realize how bad the usa education system really is. i'm canadian but have lost count of the number of usa teachers who have complained about how bad they are held back from teaching kids properly, how kids can't be failed or held back, how kids graduating gr 12 can't read or write past gr 6 level. in fact recently there was a statistic put out that something like 60% of ALL americans cant read or write past gr 6. considering all your universities that is terrifying. not to mention with gun violence, straight up violence among kids and at teachers, the disrespect and the severe lack of good parenting, kids are not being educated at all. u yourself have done videos on where someone interviews americans and asked them questions about canada and they haven't got a clue. not one clue. yet canadian kids are regularly taught all about their american neighbours. are kids know more about america then american kids do and thats shameful. u need to do some research on this because unless u live in a rich gated elite community and go to private school the public education system in the usa is very dismal and woefully inadequate. \nalso he's right about politics. here we can discuss it rationally and then move on to other topics. in the states ppl are shooting ppl over differences in politics. beating ppl up trashing their cars and property etc. and many police are definitely not presenting themselves with professionalism tons of racism going on. and so many police because everyone is armed. here in canada we are not allowed handguns and pretty much ppl only have hunting rifles. it takes a lot of work and clearance not to mention time and money to take the necessary classes and get the necessary permits to even own a hunting rifle. in the usa show a drivers license and wait 10 days u have a handgun no matter how mental u are. therefore u need way more police than here in canada. i think u have a well to do upbringing so u have not and do not see the true picture of the america u live in. \nalso i have talked to many american friends who had insurance and still cost them about $5000 per birth of a child. with good insurance and working full time. so thats about average. here in canada u pay nothing except maybe parking for hubby while he visits.

I have spent quite a bit of time in USA and I always find my experience split. For the most part the people and places are great. As a filmmaker I have shot in NYC, California, Mississippi to name a few. The people were always accommodating and friendly. One time a gentlemen and his wife that allowed us to film in his property would bring us hot chocolate at night, then offered to shoot anyone who got in our way. I was also filming in the desert in 2009 and I almost got shot in the face by a group of police officers that charged in guns out and tempers raging, before realizing that we had film permits and were scheduled to be on site. Only to have the crew say that if I was black they would have shot first and asked questions later. As tensions rise between Canada and USA with Trump's trade war and attempt to ANNEX Canada I think I will do my filming in other parts of the world, if not in Canada. I have plenty of American friends and know a lot of Canadians that live in the US. I just hope things settle between our two nations soon. Where do you live? Another thing to consider is to not argue with the police. In a traffic stop, you will usually do much better if you are polite, compliant and apologetic. They can breathalize you any time they want- no probable cause required! Yes, you have rights, and if your rights are trampled on, argue it in court, not on the roadside. If you’re drunk, and they tell you to go home- do it. NEVER attempt to bribe a police officer (or other official)- EVER. \n\nWhen dealing with officials, or difficult customer situations, getting loud and argumentative will make them less likely to help you. I've lived here 6 years and can't wait to leave. Salaries are just enough to get by. I work full-time as an analyst and am looking for a minijob just to save money, which I already live quite modestly. It's easy to come across nasty unfriendly people, neighbors, service people, people in government agencies. I hate people staring in the most unfriendly manner or givng attitude for no reason other than they are nasty people. Don't get me wrong, there are nice people as well, but the bad experiences outweigh the good. Beauracracy is overbearing, personalities are underwhelming, the food scene is underwhelming, learning German is a big burden when you work a full-time job (and now I need a minijob too??). The country seems like it wants to diminish the human spirit and ambition. I definitely regret moving here. Many housing companies are over charging rent. I found out the company, Deutschewohnen, who owns my apartment was overcharging me by nearly double!! I had to go through a year long court procession to get them to lower it to the legal price which I won. And now they sent me a letter last month saying they are raising my rent, which is illegal and I have to go through ANOTHER court battle with them. Of course it is exhausting to try and find another apartment. Some people search up to a year. What a joke. And not to mention the dating scene. I've been single the entire 6 years and I'm quite an outgoing, friendly, loveable person. Dating Germans comes with own weird experiences and I refuse to give them a chance anymore, for my own mental health. If you're POC, it's not uncommon to come across strange sexualizations and general lack of understanding other's cultures. A couple years ago I was attacked by 8 men while walking home at night. I ended up in the hosopital and there was an investigation opened. The police asked me why they attacted me, which I didn't know since it was unprovoked. Black lady needs to stop misusing laws, if she is having a hard time think about the person who spent years to build enough equity to buy a home. Not paying rent is a clear violation of the law, how can police not take action, why did it take so much time. The landlord should be compensated for the stress.

My situation is similar, but I live in the US. My home state CA has major cities like San Francisco with tents all over the place. Crime has gotten out of control in places like Oakland where the police likely won't help you in time. I did the hustle and bustle in Southern CA, built my wealth, and left the big city. Context:\n\nAround a year or two ago driving back home with some friends after visiting Niagara Falls, we were pulled over because my car’s headlights were off. I didn’t stop immediately when they turned their police lights on because I didn’t think I did anything wrong but did eventually pull over after realizing they were indeed trying to pull me over. \n\nAfter I pulled over, two officers quickly got out and one of them rushed to my passenger side mirror and very aggressively yelled at me, “why didn’t you pull over” etc. I was very surprised by his reaction and quickly explained that I was a fairly new driver (about 6 months of driving experience at the time). He went away for a few seconds to cool off and later apologized for his behavior (very respectable).\n\nMain Focus:\n\nNow, the interesting part is while the officer was cooling off, the other officer wanted not just my ID but everyone else’s’ in my car as well. I still to this day do not think that is normal, however, I haven’t been pulled over enough to confirm that. Anyways, some of my friends didn’t have officials IDs on them but they did have their student ID. The police wanted that as well. They took a long time to what I assume, conduct a very thorough check on everyone’s ID, making sure nothing is suspicious and everyone is from America. The whole encounter had to be around 20 to 30 minutes long, it was very very long. \n\nTakeaway:\n\nFrom what I experienced that day, I strongly believe that people were at least crossing the northern border around 1 year ago and most likely even earlier. There are bus services that go straight to NYC from Buffalo which is right across the border from Canada to the US. However, I’m not sure if you need ID to use those services. \n\nFor those who read this comment, use this information however you will, I hope it helps even just a little in making some sort of change. \n\nHopefully, there won’t be an increase on how long it takes me to get past border patrol to Canada and back ?. I believe India is the best country to stay because:\n- Rents extremely high in developed cities . Property prices unaffordable in big cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata. People are paying life long EMI till death.\n- Teachers focus more on Private tutions to make money. If you don’t take lessons from them, they will fail you in education system \n-Government doctors more focus on Private practices than their Government jobs. In ICU doctors sometimes sleep because they are tired for their private pactices.\n- Court takes decades to settle court cases. \n- Extremely high inflation - Food prices uncontrolled \n- Retirees not worked for Government getting hard time to pay bills specially medical treatment cost. It’s really hard for them to stay in big cities. No Indian government help and support. Government basically don’t care them. Only big big words at the time of vote \n- middle class working upto 11 pm to save their job , no retirement money- just surviving \n- After completing MBA, lot of job seekers land in selling target oriented credit card selling and driving Uber/ Toto \n- Ministers have so much under table money they keep their money inside the walls of their property \n- Sides of Highways full of Poverty . I lived in Canada for 14 years . Thankfully I have finally moved out . I don’t regret my decision I can see a doctor when I need it and the police do their job . I miss the country from time to time since I spent most of my adult life there but I’m better off where I am now . I have a stable job and can afford a place to live.

Im currently 15 years old. And i wanted to go to Canada for education. I’m Indian and I will be damned if I say I agree with you. This shouldn’t be allowed. Follow the rules. This mob culture has to stop. I work my ass off and I can’t get by. My industry went on a strike for a year and I couldn’t get a survival job. These students can move from one province to another any time they want. How is this possible. Isn’t there any law to prevent them moving from the place they came to “study” in the first place and move to another location just for PR? I waited two years to get my police verification done from all the countries I worked before my immigration application got approved. These days it’s like the immigration ministry is handing over permanent residency like candies. More over if I go to a shop ask for help I get answers in a language I don’t speak or follow. Why are we allowing this? Why can’t these guys speak English or French? Why am forced to learn Punjabi? If these guys want to create a ghetto for themselves why are they doing it here? Who’s allowing all this? What’s happening to those English language tests? I don’t care if they fulfill any of those departments that require eligible workers. I grew up in Malton (borders Brampton) in the 1980's and it was all Western European and Canadian folks and it was great. Such a sense of community and everyone knew everyone. Us kids would stay out until the street lights came on and played in Parks. It was really safe. We moved away in 2006 because the area had gone such down hill by 1999 and the crime was horrible. Stolen cars, alcohol and drug abusing Punjabi folks and the domestic partner violence of the Indian men beating the crap out of their wives was insane. (I had a friend that was a Peel Region Police officer who ended up leaving because she couldn't take seeing it any longer). I have nothing against Immigration, because my dad was an immigrant, but I do have a problem with the amount of any one country we let in, and the types of people that we let in that contribute to crime and area degradation. It's so sad the slums that have become in Brampton and Malton since we left. I'm glad we got the heck out of there when we did. I feel sorry for all those that are stuck there still. Furthermore with such an influx of immigrants into one area it has driven the house prices and rent through the roof because the pace of immigration was nowhere near the housing starts, and cities think that everyone needs to be packed in like sardines and when you have that many people living in close proximity and you have such expensive living costs it's a disaster waiting to happen and it brings along with it tons of crime and drugs. The Trudeau government really messed up this country and the GTA Cities like Brampton are a shining example of that. It's sick that we pay as much as we do for government at all levels that are this idiotic. It's time we protested in the street and made the government at all levels fear the public again or it's never going to change.

In January I flew into Toronto for my connecting flight to London but missed it. I was put up in a hotel in Brampton. First time there in 25 years. I didn’t feel like I was in Canada. I felt like a foreigner in my own country. during my 15 hours there I saw only one other non-Indian in the hotel. The restaurants, limousines to and from the airport, the drugstore and on the street - only Indians. Not one of them I spoke to had English mother tongue. One of the limo drivers came to Canada for education and told me once he got here he couldn’t get the program he signed up for and he was now in another program and as soon as he finishes this year he is leaving. He lived in Brampton and he told me he doesn’t feel safe there or in Toronto due to the crime. Interestingly he said a lot of the crime in the Indian community never gets reported to the police.

I lived on brampton a year after moving to canada, 1977. Went to high school there. I escaped after all of these years, i really have a hard time visiting some of my friends that are left there. I was rear ended by an indian lady 5 years ago, she was charged, i was a lame duck at a red light, could not move as i would hsve been tboned. She was charged but she fought it in court, i was contacted to confirm my appearance from the police officer that was first on the scene the day before the trial, the subpoena was never senr by tge prosecutors office. I moved to Canada as a child with my parents 41 years ago. It isn't just inflation and cost of living that is the problem. It's the dramatically increasing racism and discrimination, even against people who have been living in this country longer than the racists discriminating against them. Seriously? For those who came from developing countries, most likely there is more efficiency and modernity in those countries.
