Funny how the people who insistes tariffs are not paid by the people _for an entire year_ are still lecturing us on tariffs.

The tariffs will be paid by American consumers eventually. Why did Trump do this?

Don't worry Tariffs are paid for by Canada I really do not know if he is so stupid he believes that or he knows and does not care either way it is so dumb and hurtful to think otherwise. The last time tariffs like this were in place was the late 1800's and early 1900's. All these years US has a trade deficit of 1 trillion dollars every year. With tariffs we could have recovered 250 billion every year. That is a lot of money. Aren't the tariffs paid by the people importing the product, so doesn't this mean the governments are just making more money from their own people? Seems like they are robbing the people and using nationalism to get the peoples approval to Rob them.

What a crock of shit. We pay 10\ntimes the tariffs on exports to Canada as they have paid the US. Now it’s an equal playing field and he’s whining and lying like he always does.

Ok I need some help understanding this. If it’s a dumb idea for the US then why isn’t it a dumb idea for Canada too? As I understand it, the US tariffs mean things imported from Canada get a few slapped on top and that is paid by Americans, to discourage them from buying Canadians things. Why wouldn’t Canada continue importing US things as before and not put extra fees on top, so they don’t have to find new suppliers and cause disruption? Then it is just America punching itself in the face not both of them.

The Canadian paid for it however it was my one and only sale there. So how is that fair for me? How is that fair to us?

Let this sink in, tariffs / taxes are debt on the tax payers back not the government's, government take taxes, reciprocal tariffs are just other taxes paid by other businesses in other countries to main government. The only way for the tax payer to prosper is by not to playing in the game by being more self sufficient, which obviously government do not like as it is untaxable. Trump has sold the lie that tariffs will pay for many great things. 1-It's a direct-to-consumer tax. 2-History has proven that tariff wars are bad for all concerned. P.S. Warren Buffet recently said that if all US corporations paid taxed like his companies do, We'd have no need for income taxes. Tariffs are consumer taxes on imports, collected from your own citizens, whenever they buy products or services from other countries. Trump said he would reduce taxes. He told voters other countries paid for Tariffs. They Don’t. They just lose sales, due to diminished demand. Tariffs are another way for the US government to tax its own people and reduce its trade deficit . It’s probably about time. USA has had a trade deficit every year, since 1970.

The only reason Trump puts tariffs is to replace the taxes of the rich with import taxes that will be paid mainly by the poor. It is about pleasing the rich.

Why does Canada bother with Tariffs on US goods?\nCost and CO2 pressures demand that Canada review its costs situation with energy and oil into the USA.\nMany costs have risen and they need to be passed on in a per mega Watt and Mega Barrel basis.\nFurthermore. Canada must step up its electrical and oil supply system maintenance to include twice daily stoppages to US bound energy so that system safety and performance is controlled.\nNext.\nCanada has a clear obligation to the USA to prevent a Russia/EU dependency occurring. So further stoppages to service delivery require urgent implementation.\nDo not worry. Emperor Trump will not sue. The US Lawyers know now they will not be paid by Trump.

Maybe I shouldn't like this but I do. Firstly, Canada has the luxury of not really needing to protect itself, they get to spend 3% what the US does on their military so they can focus on other things, like letting immigrants into the Country to price out the native Canadians and jailing people for misusing pronouns. Also, I want to see the US become slightly more isolationist, I'll happily pay more for US products. A tariff is paid buy the businesses who attempt to pass that cost down to the consumer. We need tariffs high enough that making things in the US makes more sense to these businesses.

Trump has already admitted: Tariffs do raise the US Cost of Living and that they are paid by US Consumers (including MAGA Consumers) NOT by the foreign country. He originally imposes a 25% Trump Tariff on Canada but only 10% on its oil and gad exports to the US. WHY?! Because he knows Tariffs will increase the Cost of oil imported to the US and therefore gas prices, and increase the Cost of Living to MAGA Consumers and decrease his political support. Trump is a grifter, so anything he proclaims is likely 10% truth and 90% Lies. Watch what he does and not what he says!
