my new indian bosses do that prioritize indians shit and it pisses me off. especially since we are an upper end restaurant and i cant afford to knock back orders on good customers just cus someone of a preferred colour came in.

They want to make Canada look like India, but don't want to improve their own country? F that. I'd be pissed if my elders tried to force their customs and beliefs onto another in Canada or America. Jewish are doing it too. They don't assimilate whileaking you pay for their welfare.

You should come to Portland OR and Vancouver WA, Seattle area too - compare and contrast these communities to the Russians that moved here in the 90s. Still only one generation, but very assimilated, just with old foods and some customs of the old land. Like Germans, Scandinavians, English, Scottish, Polish, Italians, French immigrants. 2nd gen is already thoroughly Americanized. By 3rd generation, impossible to tell the difference. Canada, Us, Aus, Nz they were at a time white colonies. But they aren't any more. That's not changing. Trying to reverse engineer multiculturalism is going to be brutal. I have heard of gulf Arab racism and maybe that's the track these countries are willing to adopt. Who knows but the future appears to be grim unless a way forward of co existing is carved out.

So immigrants won't be able to use public services for free? Like healthcare? Unless they were born here? What about about naturalized immigrant that have been in Alberta their whole adult life and are now retired seniors. Will they be denied free public services? In order to help the government balance its budget? To speed this along, will Alberta set up its own immigration and customs enforcement?

We need a city in the far north designed for immigrants. Somewhere we can keep an eye on them. I am not talking about a gulag, they will be free to work, earn income, and lead productive lives. Let the first generation acclimate to our laws, languages and customs, while their papers and statuses are processed. Of course they’ll need a place to put the trouble makers. A federal super-max prison where they can be held for their trials, with the understanding that if convicted they will be deemed inadmissible and deported back to their home country, then put on a no-fly list.

In the 80s when I was in university, sociology professors claimed that the immigration system was racist, because certain people weren't welcome. The tim hortons are served by philipinos and indians where i am. And then the customer base is segregated by race to the specific locations.

I actually worked at Tim Hortons(I'm a white guy), and there were literally so many Indians that they'd order each other around in Hindi. They'd only speak English to me and the customers. I had a shift coordinator in fact who would reflexively give me orders in Hindi, and would get a little ticked off and repeat it in Hindi, and then when it clicked that I'm the only non-Hindi speaker there, he'd give 1 word orders like "Garbage" or "Sinks". The owner of the Tim Hortons also said that if I was a little slow or needed extra training, they wouldn't fire me because they don't like to keep rotating workers around, and instead would rather just retrain them. I was a tad bit slow(only because I was precise and not violating health and safety standards), and they fired me in like 10 seconds. Like my second monthly review, I was fired. I have a feeling it largely had to do with the fact that I was not Indian and didn't speak Hindi, so therefore the shift coordinators had less tolerance for me.

Man just give it a break with your doomposting .All of them are just trying to earn a decent living and are atleast being productive members of society. They're not even bothering anyone with their customs with (no loudspeakers or force conversions unlike some other people) and just want to be treated with some decency.

When I lived in SW PA, we saw more and more convenience stores being run by Indians. I went into a 7-11 once, and there was what looked like a family in the office, and when the guy that worked there was serving me, I asked him, why don't I ever see any Americans working there? He said, because Americans are lazy, and especially the black ones. He said Americans always want days off. Days off because you're sick, or days off because it's a holiday, days off for everything. They don't want to work. This is all because of Clinton. He made a deal where Indians could come to the US, and they were given money to "start" a company. The idea was, they would BUILD a company, and hire Americans to work it. Instead, they bought stores and motels and used those to import their family and friends from India to here, for work. When I went back to school, I had no choice but to work at a gas station. I was off on payday once, and went in to get my check. There was a new guy at the counter, an Indian. I asked for my check, and wanted him to cash it for me. We always did that if there was enough money in the register. He told me to move, customers waiting. He didn't speak English very well. I went to the office to see the work schedule, and he yelled at me to get out of there! I told him what I was doing, he said "You work no!! I work! You boss no own, my boss own! Leave now! After a little more back and forth yelling, I found out my boss sold the gas station the night before and we were all out of a job. I blew up in front of all the customers! They started to walk out. Lol. That station didn't even last a year, and they had to close down. If they had a drive off (back in the days of a pump and run) they would call the police, but couldn't speak English very well. So they would tell police robbery! After a few times of that, the police told them to never call again. This was a very small town in SW PA, and word got around, and no one went to that station any more. This is the same area that was featured in Tyler's and others videos about all the Haitians that were shipped in by Biden. Bell Vernon PA, right across the river from Charleroi PA. The area is still FULL of Haitians, scaring all the native people away. Taking over the Walmart that is right across the street from where this gas station used to be. One of the many reasons I live in TX now.

Hate to say it, but bike guy is right. I work in a (genuinely) diverse area and African men are by far the worst customers. Incredibly condescending, interrupt me constantly, and if they have a wife/girlfriend with them, they're constantly berating her. I've found Indians are cheap but generally polite, the biggest problem is that there's just too damn many of them and they don't assimilate, so you become a stranger in your own hometown when they move in. I remember looking for a place to get takeout around my boyfriend's house and it was literally 90% Indian food, 10% pizza with butter chicken and tandoori toppings.

I went through a drive thru in Weyburn Saskatchewan and almost shit my pants when I seen (1) white guy working there, 99% Indian in the smack dab middle of the country, and it’s like this everywhere. Have heard half a dozen times from separate ppl that they were asked if they spoke Hindi or Punjabi to work at Tim Hortons because “all the staff spoke it” they take our jobs because they accept lower wages. I’m just fatigued, it just sucks because I know the vast majority of Indians before 2020 were actually nice and adaptable decently well. Now when you go out to eat or buy groceries you don’t even get a “have a nice day” which is a Canadian custom IMO. Most of the time besides the transaction details, they will not speak to you.

As a Brampton resident, the newer Indians, are giving the good ones a bad reputation. It used to be more multicultural city and immigrants actually assimilated with the customs of, Canada. It’s pretty much 90% Indian now and about half of those don’t show signs of assimilating. Drivers here are so bad man! I’m convinced that a lot of them just pay for it. 😭 Their cuisine is good though, so, I’m grateful for that. 😅

I'm extremely liberal However I do understand how seeing your customs and ways of life being taken over can be frustrating. It's ok to be liberal and still call for immigration control. And its ok to be conservative and have the empathy to understand that most people that are already established here are just seeking a peaceful life. I have nothing against Indians or Punjabis. Every culture has its good and not so good. The biggest issue is the Indian government warned that Canada is taking in many scammers and criminals with false documents and Canada not only made them welcome but also let them enter politics, police, government positions many with just PR and not even citizenship holders. How can an India citizen with Canadian Residency work as a customs officer or police with no Canadian citizenship?

I agree that immigrants should adapt local culture and assimilate but I do not think immigrants have to be exatcly the same. bruce Lee adapted local culture while adding something new and beneficial for the locals. If the things you bring is beneficial to the locals, then I do not think it is problematic if you bring them in while keeping ur original identity. I’m an exporter, if your exports align with destination country’s customs and at least certain aspects of it. It increases your export success rate. On contrary, if there is nothing that connects the locals, it will doom to failure.

My ancestors were Spanish (Galician/Catalan), Italian, German-Jewish, and Polish, and they all assimilated, adopting Spanish-language and Argentine customs without losing their roots.

I am a college student in the southeastern us in a small town. We have many many many nepalis coming and using it as a springboard to emigrate (usually illegally) across the us. They do not speak our language, integrate, work, or understand our customs. Not integration, no immigration.
