As a Canada who speaks both French and English and who follows politics quite closely, I have to say that the headline and some of the reporting here is quite misleading. A reduction in immigration has broad support across Canada. I wouldn't say that notion is dividing the country in any significant way. You do have certain industry groups that disagree, but among the population these reductions have broad support. This is a historic change in public opinion in Canada, but it has been driven by the unprecedented increase in immigration under the last term of the Trudeau government. To put this in context, non-permanent residents in Canada numbered around 1.5 million on Q3 2023, but by Q3 2025, that number sat a just over 3 million. The previous government increased immigration targets by 3 or 4 times over what they had been for years, which caused a number of economic issues. Essentially, the volume was simply too high for the economy and society to support. This was unfair to both Canadians and new comers, many of which could not find employment or afford a decent place to live. The changes being suggested are largely bringing Canada back to what the targets were for over a decade before, though a bit lower to account for the sudden surge. Canada remains one of the most pro-immigration countries in the world. However, and this is where I think DW's reporting is misleading, there is a distinction to be made between policies at the federal level and policies at the provincial level. Immigration, per our constitution, is a federal matter, however, Quebec in particular is distinct from other provinces. I don't mean only culturally and linguistically, but also in the powers that have been devolved to it by the federal government. On the question of immigration, Quebec has more powers and more ability to set its immigration targets and programs than any of the other 9 provinces. The particular program discussed here, the Quebec Experience Program (PEQ), is a particular immigration stream that only existed in Quebec. So what is happening with that program cannot be labeled as a whole-of-Canada thing. Where the changes to the PEQ are controversial, unlike the general changes at the federal level, is that people who immigrated under that specific program were promised certain things. There was a multi-year time line to Permanent Residency and then Citizenship. Many of those people have been in Quebec for 5-8 years already. However, the changes made to the program were done in such a way where people who many years into the program, had gotten an education, started a career, had children, ect. are now being told they can't continue and must leave Canada. There are even stories of people who married Canadians, now have children, and the one parent who was under this program now faces the possibility of having to leave Canada and be separated from their family. All through no fault of their own. That is what many people see as unfair, and I agree, however limiting future applications under the program, to bring in less people, that is not controversial. Canada has no responsibility to bring in people who are not already in Canada, but Canada does have some responsibility towards people who uprooted their lives to move to Canada and built new lives here based on promises and representations made to them by the Canadian and Quebecois governments. We should no simply kick those people out of the country.

You are a pretty good influencer you know how to get engagement but the thing that you might miss is that you also plant seeds of racism in people's brain, I get your idea about the illigal immigrants and I totally agree that all the illigal immigrants should not only be deported but should also be punished strictly and I get it that it's frustrating that people are not following the rules or people are doing bad stuff there but the thing is not only the content but also the intent behind the making and releasing this video, you could have mentioned illigal immigration but you choose to use words like Indian invasion and giving a name to a specific event would cause racism and hate towards the community as well as for the country, The way you showed the clips of specific people showing middle finger in cars I can show a tons of videos of native candains doing the same thing but then it's morally wrong because everyone's not same, same way just check out there's a lot of people who does bad things in public who are the citizens of Canada and who are doing bad stuff, imagine I make a video saying that "The stupid canadians who doesn't follow rules" that video will also show partial truth of some Canadians doing stupid things but associating Canada's name would spread racism against them which is wrong, same way you could've made a video on illigal immigrants who came from india but you choose to get more engagement by using racist terms and things which will make people think that all indians are same, in conclusion I just want to say that in america the highest earners are American-indians and I really thank us government for giving opportunities to them but they not only worked hard for those opportunities but they also worked more then the Americans to get to the top, if the America would have a better person to be the ceo of Google then sundar pichai must have been in india but since he's the best he's at the top same way every american-indian or legal immigrants not only worked hard to get there but also worked more to reach where they are, YOU HATE US, CAUSE YOU AIN'T US. I am sure the bike guy considers himself a Christian too, religion of love, humanity and peace so they say 😂😂his heart is full of hate why don't he goes buy a 🔫 and get rid of everyone he batws to cleanse his heart and satisfy it to its fullest, I am sure he will sleep better. It all boils down to how the Indians are raised in their own country. They are raised with the individual mentality. Do for yourself, and to hell with the others. Leave it for someone else to take care of. This is why their country is one of the dirtiest in all the world. They use the streets as a garbage can or toilet, then just leave it for someone else to clean it up. But, when everyone is raised with this attitude, there's no one left to clean it up. In India, they have the "untouchables". Yes, the caste system is still operating in India, although it's not recognized by the government. It's the untouchables that are supposed to clean up all the trash and feces off the streets, but they never do. They don't get paid to do it. This is why their trash clean up is so poor as far as having trucks go around and pick it up to take to a landfill. There are very few untouchables and the other people won't work for the trash pick up companies, because they feel it's beneath them. So, they trash their country and instead of cleaning it up, they move to another country to trash it. My brother used to be a truck driver for many years. Every time he saw a truck rolled over on it's side, he'd say "Must have been an Indian", because every rolled over truck he ever saw was driven by someone from India. If you look at videos of the traffic in India, you will see lot of trucks rolled over, and you'll see no one pay attention to stop lights, stop signs and everyone just cuts off everyone. This is the individual idea. I have to get somewhere, so I will cut you off to get there. It's always "Me, me, me". This attitude causes so many wrecks. Westerners have a hard time driving in India because we are all raised with everyone in mind, not just ourselves. We are a community, not an individual. We need to put a big wall around India and stop all airplanes going in and out, so they don't spread their diseased ideals of life and end up ruining another country. Do you know why India doesn't really take military training very seriously? Because no other country wants to invade and have to deal with the clean up. At this point, it's just about impossible to ever clean that country up.

There are always two sides of the story. When British and French went from starting trade with indigeneous to brigning their families and settling towns on their land, they must have had the same feeling. Europeans just didn't stop their they openly slaughtered and put small children in residential schools where many lost lives and are still living with generational trauma. India was doing fine before british came in and lynched the economy to feed industrial revolution in west. I have seen Finnish, croatian, greek, polish, italian, german cultural centers and businesses serving their communities in Canada. Can we also say that they should assimilate in Canadian culture? What is even Canadian culture? It is the "The Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms", read that thing and the history if you are not familiar. I do acknowledge that there is massive influx of immigrants in a short span which govt. did to compensate for labor needs but they did not invest in infrastructure and orientation of immigrations. I have worked with Canadians in their 60s vs 20s, there was a huge difference in work ethic. My white manager relied on me and my another friend for closing or opening shift than some local preveliged kids. I am in support of deporting illegals but let's educate who are here legally. Collaborate with communities to voice out your concerns and look at the positive impact immigrants have made in past decades.

I came here from Nigeria as a professional. I must say the Canada govt has to develop some spines. I am grateful for the opportunity to be in Canada. I do not take it for granted. But truth be told, if you ve got a country like Canada, you cannot allow everyone in the world in. You can’t allow a single country change your demography except you are STUPID. Even heaven has boundaries. You can’t allow everyone. It is not wisdom to allow everyone. Most western countries have left God, they have the civilization that came from Christianity but they have left Christ and are using their wisdom. They definitely will mess up things. Common wisdom will be difficult.

There is a video on how a Canadian citizen should leave Canada and come back as a refugee new immigrant! It's sickening because the government our tax paying dollars are paying each immigrant $224.00 per day to be housed in hotel room and food etc?! This is wrong as how come ppl like myself awaiting to have my knee replacement surgery I am only getting $1208 per month on disability EIA? A Canadian citizenship status should be earned big time no matter where you came flat out before getting any benefits of any kind and be able to buy and sell homes here too!? I find cab drivers muslems mostly very ignorant and rude talking in their language while on the job behind the wheel must add yes ppl driving you to your destination and not to mention do these.ppl stop to think maybe your clients passengers get annoyed listening to that on their ride to where ever,???? NO NO NO!! YOUR WIFE, MOTHER, FATHER OR CHILDREN WHOMEVER SHOULD NOT BE BOTHERING YOU WHILE YOU ARE ON THE JOB WORKING?! When I go to work as a nurse do you see me talking to my spouse or family members while I am helping my clients eat or bath and get dress, NO WAY YOU WOULD BE FIRED!!? Us Canadian citizens need to stand together and our tax paying money we should have a say in where it should be going not to ppl who are not from our country!?

I'm Canadian. I've spend my entire adult life involved with everything immigration. I have no problem with immigration which to me is people moving. It offers great people and great things. I have a problem with women and children abused, in violence and almost killed and our resources which are suppose to help protect the men coming here doing this because as immigrants they have value and so support anything they do to innocent people here because they have more worth as human beings than people born, raised and who lived here all their lives. Two lives viciously destroyed to protect someone sick with hate who is chronic woman hater and abuser but he must be respected for it. As someone immersed all their life in "culture" domestic violence is not culture as in immigration it's abuse and a crisis brought here and then force by law respect for it when it is already here bc it is a planet problem. For people without a lifetime of knowledge you would be shocked if knew what people think and say about us living here and what they believe from complete ignorance. It is a belief everything is owed to make lives bigger and better for them above everyone else bc they suffered somewhere else but the assumption is every person in Canada had the opportunity born here that all people should be rich and if anyone is under that standard they deserve nothing and it should be given to everyone coming in. It is understood in some groups the purpose and wants of Canadian women is providing free services to immigrant men because this is how all Canadian women chose to live as women. The expectation of women is back to the stone age to obey, speak when given permission and respect abuse. Our authorities now back that up. Don't believe me you can see evidence. We are being forced by law to change. How many persons with criminal records are here in past decade was that recent news report? There's good and bad but if you don't respect the bad then see what happens to you because suddenly you will the bad one as a Canadian so be prepared to respect and appreciate everything you spent a lifetime believing you didn't have to. Some people could write an encyclopedia of wild and bizarre things and opinions and expectations of the views others have of life here and it would make most here all their lives want to flee and leave. There are two opposite meanings of what respect is. It amounts to respect them and everything bad and disrespectful to us or we have no respect any other names. This includes not one specific culture but numerous ones and I am referring to a different one than referenced in this video. Respect divided into two opposite meanings, ignorance, lack of care, abuse, hate and so many things which our government is permitting to happen and people are losing their physical lives and becoming physically and mentally ill and it is directly related to destroying Canadians living here, killing them to force a message of change of respects and persons need to die to force it.

I'm a proud Canadian Immigrant of Indian origin. I came here to do specialized studies in Game Development. I took my time, and studied 6 years as an international student, paying 3x the tuition, sank $200,000 of hard earned money into the Canadian Education system — Not as a fast track gimmick to immigrate, but so I could achieve my dream as a Game Developer. This money was family income, earned on 1/4th the salary, taking 4x longer to save. I was a great privileged to me. Today 15 years later, no one would ever think I'm from India. I sound Canadian, I behave Canadian, I have Canadian values, and I am Canadian. I came here because I loved Canada. I would watch hours upon hours of indigenous history, and on my Citizenship day, I watched Juno Beach to celebrate. However I must say this... I suffered through s*icidal depression here for 8 years, because I had far less leverage here than in a developing country, and it's really telling what sort of situation we're all in... Rent caps in Canada were removed... The housing market was open to foreign investors / and real estate monopolies with a 20% year-on-year rise... Rents went from 1000$ to 2100$ MINIMUM for a 1 bedroom through Trudeau's term and the govt said "It's not a federal responsibility"... Auto insurance is like 2.5-3.5k a year in Ontario and if you get a dent, you pay a deductable... I was quoted 8500$ for two wisdom teeth surgeries while it costed me 260$ abroad... During Covid - property owners, banks, and grocery stores exploited our misery and made record profits!... The govt stopped filtering through it's immigrants with "interviews", and it's operating like a scam — "Bring all your foreign money, convert it to CAD, and keep our GDP stable.. while we neither have the infrastructure, nor the job market to support these numbers". I think some accountability is due... these issues are "symptoms", not the problem — The problem is our Liberal govt / policies, and our wonderful voting body who voted Liberal term after term after term while complaining. Why does this govt safeguard extremism, foreign politics, foreign separatism? Khalistanis are as much of a threat / nuance to India than it is to Canada, but in Canada they actually have a unrestricted platform. Instead of resenting immigrants, we need to start resenting how mismanaged Canada is by our govt, and hold our voting body accountable. We had a chance to vote differently, but once again a repackaged and rebranded Liberal term. Because my ethnicity is Indian, I've become an object of collective resentment / hatred, and I don't think that's fair.. Please direct it at your vote, and govt level policies. Why should I (and other's like me) be crucified with the sins of other immigrants? It's like hating all your neighbors in a burning building, when the management has been lighting the fire.

I must say it is refreshing to hear the same opinion from immigrants that did things the correct legal way and for the right reasons. I thank all of you for speaking up surely you can't be labeled racists etc for speaking the truth! I can tell you right now if I was to go to another country I would not get there illegally and take advantage of anything and everything I can from that countries government while showing hate for that very country. I sure as hell would not expect society in that country to bow down and be forced to accept and support the ways I knew from being from Canada. We you me cant afford to be spending money on Ukraine as much as it pains me to say. We are going to go bankrupt and then we wont be able to help ourselves. You know I’ve been killing myself working non stop for like a decade trying to hold it all together because of all the increased prices of everything. As a result I have not been paying attention. I know the tariff thing was happening, but didn’t know why this was a thing. \n\nShame on me for not being more up to date. \n\nI also know nothing about Trudeau or his political stance on literally anything aside from what he talked about in this video. \n\nI must say this was of speaking is EXACTLY what I expect from a world leader. THIS is the exact style of communication we need from world leaders. I don’t see how it helps anyone, anywhere in the world to have people in control of nuclear armed nations to be shooting from the hip with communication.

But no, you booger globs must think that there are no people in America who speak French, and no people in America who would like to hear him speak French. You are part of the problem, CNN. And then to hear this woman say what she says after that talk is just appalling to me. Lady, you are a turncoat. You do not have your ethics and morals in place. Anti-American? Anti-American? As a Canadian, I have to say that we must get rid of Trudeau ASAP. This man is dangerous. How can he form alliances with Europe when our principal economic partner is the United-States. He's playing a very dangerous game and I don't like it one bit!

I am from the Balkans. I have been studying, living and working abroad since I was 18. Germany was the 7th country I moved to and the first country ever I felt unwelcomed at work- because of my Balkan origins. I must say I was rather shocked because being a very open, international professional with lots of experience, I thought something of this kind would never be even imaginable. However, outside of my work field I gained many german friends pretty quickly - friends for life ( no competition here, haha). 10 years later, I am still here and the situation changed to better - a lot. A mix of getting trust, learning the language, and getting more international colleagues. I am totally thankful to the health system - they saved my life. If I stayed in my country, I would have had serious health issues. I am thankful to the democracy, freedom of expressing, schooling system( so much better than in my times in Yugoslavia), salaries, and many other things Germany gave me. I am living a good life, best life any of my family members had in generations. I would like to stay here as long as it feels good for me and my family. Having a german father to my kids is however the strongest link to me feeling home in Germany -having a local within your family makes it all a lot easier.

I am in the country in rural Northern Ontario and I must say life is still grand! I do avoid the major cities as they are too busy, too much traffic, and yes too much homelessness! That is unfair to those people and unfair to Canadians who need good medical services in lieu of the taxes that they pay. I've applied in almost every job for part time, got rejection due to no available positions (Reasons : too many applicants)\n4. You are not gonna get a job in your field, unless you are into finance or IT with a found background.\n5. I am no fan of immigration from India, but the measure must be on per capita basis. If there is 3X migration from India, compared to, let's say Iran, it is basically Canada is setting 6X LENIENT immigration conditions for IRAN, given that India is 18 times that of Iran. \nIn countries like Germany, there are double as many from tiny Kosovo, as India and China taken together. Love your videos, however I must say that you seem to be very naive about the reality, severity and frequency of racism in the US, no matter the area. I saw that in 1954 when I went to school that learning was not natural and it was fear based. Then I completed a dip. of ed psy and then I decided that if I ever wanted to help change the system that I would require at least an m. ed. - leadership. I knew the university I went to would not be able to say no to me when I applied to get into this program. However, I was too much of an negative influence on the younger students and had to finish the last couple of classes at home and which I did. Today, the families have been divided, people do not connect or communicate properly and I have to question what living skills did I learn? I live in Nova Scotia and most of our population is practically now Indian population it was never like that say 8 years ago,im fine with anyone from any country living here for sure but it must not be bad for them because they have moved here in droves,practically every business is filled with indians all working in them and including where i work,ill tell ya there dedicated workers and work hard and i get it they need the hours to get there Canadian citizenship?So is there a long time perk of being indian and moving to Canada,Nova Scotia perhaps that i dont know about?Because us Canadians that have lived here all there lives are definitely not getting any perks or barebones living for godsake.

It now seems lonelier in Toronto. \n\nCanada used to be different because anyone with a good job could afford at least a condo, but life became unaffordable not just for immigrants, but for everyone unless you are in your 50s-60s and own a home. \n\nI have friends working double jobs supporting family back home in other countries, but for some of them the family back home sound like they are doing better than them and own a home. Not true for everyone, but for some yes and I worry about their own retirement because retirement in Canada without lots of savings means you might be homeless or forced to live with family even if it’s not your preference. \n\n without investments and savings, it will be hard to beat inflation. Getting into debt and getting bad credit can mean not getting an apartment. \n\nThe birth rate is going down because it is expensive to have kids and income isn’t enough to match with living costs. Yet how is this possible in a city that is always pushing out lower income people when wealthier people desire the area. \n\nIn Toronto, every time you move you have to take what is available and that might mean moving an hour away from everyone you know. This weakens communities. Plus, if you live too far from your work you will have no time to socialize for most the week due to travel time. \n\nI think those who grew up in Toronto do have a certain culture of acceptance with others from many cultures, because your friends at school were from all over. But with new migrants sometimes it isn’t until the second generation that their social circles get diverse. This can be isolating and it’s even isolating as those from Toronto eventually leave dreaming of staying in one spot and not forced to move constantly when a landlord investor sells every house you move into. \n\n\nToronto really needs to protect affordability of housing for at least some housing in every section so that people can save money if they live in the city, and not have to leave their communities and be far from their friends and family. \n\notherwise eventually people get sick of the hustle and it’s too tiring to travel 1+ hrs each way to visit someone during Monday to Friday. \n\n20 years ago any professional could at least buy a condo. Not today. There is too much competition now and investors are allowed to buy up all the most affordable housing that once was a pathway to owning a home. \n\nRich policy makers got greedy and destroyed canada and hopefully diversity in leadership will help make Canada better. But they perhaps people knew to Canada can reject this lonely structure and help us rebuild Toronto into an amazing place. \n\nWe need to make sure everyone can afford housing with 30% of their income. Oh i wasn’t expecting quebec to be thee no1 on this list but it’s nice to see it there im from greater Montreal\nIm not the bragging type but it feels nice to see it there especially that most people don’t fully appreciate the luck we have\nIt’s also funny to see that most people from outside say Montreal is amazing and people from around the city love to hate it for some reasons\nI must say that recent years have been hard cos of the consequences of the pandemic among other things which made the access to healthcare much harder than just a few years ago and also the prices of houses and rents have exploded since 2020 and the crime rate have raised in Montreal but not as much as cities cited in the video from the prairies \nI think its still a great place and safe place to live and we are lucky to be in that province and that country even though quebecois love to complain or as we say « chialer »
