Good journalism, it's good to get out and hear what people are thinking. In viewing, it occurs to me that it's hard for white people, and maybe Christians, to understand some Asians. I'm an American, so-called white American, and love Sanatana Dharm, or what most people call Hinduism - that term should soon be forgotten. Anyway, this video shows a variety of people called Indians but whom are vastly different in belief. So much so, they maybe fighting in India but abroad, they stick together. Islam and most Indian philosophies (they are not religions as there is no overarching institution or organization) feed the "devotees" several times a day...it is a part of the culture, shared meals with those who share faith. The Indians, they basically want a better life and will send money home. Muslims will buy land through a trust and then buy more and more. I don't know about Canada, but there are no such cultures in America - well, the Church has bought a lot of land but does nothing to serve people. The Mormons have land and a strong daily schedule, some community churches have very strong programs, but as a whole, The Church has done nothing to make itself appealing and therefore, there's no opposite or equal force. What to do? and as far as assimilating, yes, they should, but to what? Should they start playing hockey, drinking beer, etc. The second gen might. The West has lost it's way and religion isn't the solution but a culture not so decadent would be a good start.

Canadian that spent 16 years in Japan. I went as an individual. I stayed as an individual. Married a Japanese. Came back to Canada for a pension and can't wait to leave. I were in Japan and if I saw a group of Canadians arrive expecting Japan to change for them, I would have been severely pissed off with them. Every other country and normal immigrant that came as an individual or individual family probably thinks the same way I do. No one in any country likes to see "Mass Immigration" and even Japan these days are looking at an influx of half a million Indians and who knows how many more Africans. This will change Japan and they'll turn a good culture into their shitty culture and I'm not happy with that. I liked being one of few. Yes I had American, Canadian, Australian, Kiwi and British friends as well as Japanese friends. But we were all individuals that adopted the way of living in Japan into our everyday lives. If I go back, I don't want to be in india. It'd be like living in Brampton. What pisses me most is the attitude of that muslim guy. Yes you are out breeding us but not all majorities rule. In Malaysia, Malays rule despite being the smaller population. They have more Chinese and Indians there but they have to live under the rule of the native Malays. So you will have to do the same in Canada despite if your population is larger. You adapt to this country. The country doesn't convert to accomodate you. Individuals are key. Groups are the bane of all countries.

I am Native American. At college, I took a welding course just to break the monotony of classes as I was raised using my hands. This immigrant male, asked the rest of the class "why is she here?". I asked if he had a problem with me and he looked at the class to tell me not to speak to him. No one said a word but looked between us in silence. I asked him again, "do you have an issue with me being here?". Again he told the rest of the Caucasian men to tell me to stop speaking to him.
I said if you have a problem with me, let's step outside and one of us will walk back in. You can't accept that a Native female is in this class, pack your family up and go home. Don't think of the state's because that's mine too.
The teacher walked in and he could see and sense the tension in the room. He removed the immigrant and they went out of the room. A few minutes later the instructor came in and looked at me and said he'll be taking a class with no females. His country doesn't allow females an education yet alone a trade. You're welcome to stay.
I have no intention to leave, was my comment back. I'm here to learn.
Decades later, I'm driving home from northeastern Quebec and on the 401 is a gas/food stop. My child and I were passed by 4 luxury sports cars. They pulled into this stop and parked across all the handicapped parking spots. Bumper to bumper across the spots.
We went in and met them as we came out and met a truck driver of the same nationality. He asked "how is Canada treating you?". They smiled and said "look", motioning to their silk suits. Another pointed to their cars. And another said "they treat us like kings'!". The fourth said "Canadians are easy to play! Cowards!!"
A few days later, I'm at Walmart and present my tax exempt (we pay 5% tax) but the cashier looks at it and states "you all think your so special!!" Your paying the tax like everyone else! A customer behind me yelled for management loudly. When management showed, I didn't say a word because it was the customers behind and on the side of me with complaints of the rudeness of the cashier. She was removed and manager took over transactions. Not just mine but those after me.
There was another incident with my child. An immigrant (can tell by the long tunic) was trying to lure my daughter away from me. I put her in a cart and requested help from a young employee who wanted me to write a book before calling security. Another employee came over and called security immediately. By the time they found the man, he had exited the store and got into a taxi. A few weeks later at an arena where youth hockey practice was taking place, the same scenario was happening. A man in a tunic was trying to lure children away and when caught, jumped into a taxi and left the scene.
To attack an adult who can defend themselves is one thing but to go after children is another.
I say stricter policy on crimes are needed.

Probably because the hateful white man in this great country of America taught you to hate but hate is in fact in all races, we have enough hate in America so kindly keep y'all asses out of America.... My respects Canada! My respects Trudeau! I am an American, but I support Canada. Trump is the worst and most shitty president ever in American history. I'm simply shocked that this criminal was brought back to power, obviously by those who just want to destroy America.

I'm an American, but I do not support Mr. Trump. It's a shame and embarrassment. I am sick over this administration.

As an American, I'm so sorry, Canada. I can't say I don't know anyone who wanted this. But I am not one of them, and never have been. This is insane.
|

I'm no American neither Canadian but if you want to fix the rift go meet trump and tell him you assigned part of your defence budget in manning the border to counter this fentanyl issue.\nThen again the fentanyl might be an excuse but I would do it still had I been Canadian leader

I am an American but I stand by Canada do you say I'm a traitor? no the traitor is living in the White House, now put that in your pipe and smoke it ?

I'm an American and support the actions Canadians are taking to secure the border between Canada and the United States. I did not vote for Trump this time but to my disappointment he won the election and now we have to deal with him his administration and the issues he is causing. I only pray we will make it through this.

That's what a leader sound like!! I'm an American Veteran but as long as trump and all that trash he brung to the WH I will never stand with America except in shame...

I'm an American whose ancestors came here in the 1700s. I apologize and I did not vote for Trump who should have been put in prison a long time ago. Everyday he does something against our constitution. Even an idiot gets it right sometime. But he is not a complete idiot. He is an evil savant.

As an American I'm rooting for Canada. My job relies on Canadian imports. I don't want to lose my job but I want Canada to not give in to us.

Canada, the American people don't want this and a lot of Trump supporters didn't want this either. I'm sorry that y'all too have to suffer and deal with a man that doesn't lead your country. Believe me I would swap with y'all tomorrow. \n\nIt's amazing how Canada came up with how many billions for border patrol but we can't get Congress to pass a bill. President Biden tried to get a bill through Congress within his first 100 days and they wouldn't pass it then either. We have scanners sitting at the Mexican Border that will detect Fentanyl but Congress would approve using them either. Everyone needs to find out how their Representative voted on that bill and make sure they are not in office next time. \n\nI don't know how this man got elected but I feel like Musk and Starlink helped him win. I just heard that Starlink is what was used to send the results in the swing states. Musk told someone an hour before polls closed that Trump was the winner, with his evil laugh and let's not forget Trump telling his supporters that they didn't need to vote cause he will win without them. That's fishy. \n\n\nY'all what do we do if he won't leave office? What do we do then? I know he just got in the White House but it's never too early to have a plan to get him out. They worked on Project 2025 for 4 years and now it's all falling into place. OMG! What are we going to do?

As an American: can I move to Canada, please? I don't speak French, but I am very fluent in English, and have a good command of Spanish. I'm a good worker.

As an American, I'm extremely ashamed of my country. But I'm proud of Canada's response, and I stand with them.

Trudeau trunp has no allies... that is the damn sad truth for the American people, too. Sad day, & yet another day I'm embarrassed to be an American. I live in this state of shock, though I shouldn't be. He's a f'n moron. I hate this man who is supposed to be the president of the UNITED STATES. He's done nothing but cause chaos everywhere. Stick it to us Trudeau, I for one do not blame you at all. It's really pissing me off. He does not know what he's doing, nor do those around him. There is no winning with this loser.

I'm an American. I did NOT vote for that Orange thing! Canada looking better and better. Europe. Anywhere but Trumpland.

I'm an American. I'm so sorry for the shameful actions of Trump. So many Americans have nothing but love for our friends in Canada. I voted against this. I'm heartbroken. ?
|
| 2025-03-04 | 0 |
Trump is a horrible, horrible human. I am devastated over what he is doing. I've never once given Trump my vote and I'm not a lefty liberal. I knew if he was voted in he was going to cause world wide chaos. He has shown his character over and over and over...yet a large portion of American's just ignored it. This election wasn't about republicans or democrats or independents. This election was about humanity and global security. American's ignored the writing on the wall for their own singular wants/opinions. They stand with their Trump flags but only a few of them can actually explain any accurate information about his policy or legal issues and they condone his behavior. The majority of Trumpers claim to be 'Christians'. Christians voting for a man who is a bully, abuser, liar, predator, monger of power, impedes freedom of press and speech and aligns himself with a dictator. He pardoned violent offenders and called them patriotic, spouts false information, obstructs investigations, has numerous felony charges against him and has now made enemies with our allies. Shall I go on? That's not Christian. Even if you aren't Christian...that's not what America stands for. All for what...eggs? Guns? Cheaper groceries? Or because your need for hating a small group of people out weighs global peace. Or is it because you are so short sighted that you can't even see the valuable contribution that non American born people provide this country. Yes, Biden fell asleep at the wheel. Yet many of you still believed the better choice was a psychopath. This election was important. We failed as a country by putting this man in office. No matter what party you align with, we failed. Yes, I want cheaper eggs. Yes, I really need cheaper groceries. But not over the safety of the globe. Not over the lives of the people and children being killed in an unprovoked war. Not over the safety of Europe. Not over ripping off our closest and favorite country that borders us. Not over losing our democracy and our allies. I stand with Ukraine, Canada, Mexico and Europe and the Gulf of Mexico. You should ask yourself what you really stand for.
|

Looks like Americans are idiots! Wait, I'm an American.....but I didn't vote for him! We are not all blind and stupid. We love you Canada and Ukraine ❤ I'm ashamed of what tRUMP is doing. ?

Can't say I'm thrilled with higher prices, but I am with Canada on this. They are doing the right thing. As an American, I am grateful for Trudeau's leadership and hope that this inspires more people to rise up against these horrible American oligarchs.

Canadians, please boycott the hell out of the United States in every possible way you can. I know a lot of you already were, but I hope more of you do it! I'm American and my country desperately needs to be taught a lesson, and I think your country will be the one to teach it! I am so ashamed to be an American right now, but I proudly stand with Canada! ??????

I don't get it. I'm not an American and i hoped for trump to win just for what he said he would and for what biden did to him by making him like Hitler which is not true and almost got him assassinated but seriously...after you see what is happening, how can someone support him.

I gotta say that I'm not a liberal nor have I been a particular fan of Justin Trudeau... but today (and for the last few weeks) I've been quite impressed by my Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau. This Canadian supports a vast and vicious trade war against the United States. I do not have any hatred for the American people but I do have nothing but contempt for Trump and his band of traitorous scum! I wouldn't have dreamed that our closest friend and ally could be siding with an enemy proclaimed (Russia) against democratic nations. Trump represents an existential threat to democracy everywhere and must be put down by the American people like a rabid dog!

I'm an American and I do NOT WANT this. But we have a President who doesn't give one sh** about what the majority of Americans want and need. IT'S ALL ABOUT HIM.

I'm an american, But since this administration, I stand with canada, You guys do what you have to do, Yes we'll suffer, But we done it to ourselves
|
| 2025-03-04 | 0 |
I'm European and I really can't understand how you can make an economic trade war with an ally like Canada, a close and so friendly neighbor.... A dumb decision not only for the W Post... And all of this will end up heavily impacting Americans as well, also because besides Canada there is Mexico, China and the whole of Europe. In such a war there are no winners.... I really hope that the American people understand this and start fighting for this nonsense to end. \nAnd when I then hear President Trudeau called governor.... Well I get even more angry. This shows even more (but there was no need) who trump is. A suburban bully. A rude man. An unscrupulous man who passes over everything and everyone.\nAmerica is turning into something I no longer recognize....\n\nKeep going Canada!

I'm an American, but I do not claim Trump as my president. He and his people are heathens. I never voted for him, and even as a teen, I hated him and still do.

I'm an American from Michigan but I stand with Canada.

We know why HE is doing this. He is pushing an imperialistic agenda, so he can be like those he admires. He's hoping that Canada will bend at the knee and give in so that he can claim Canada as a 51st state. But guess what? That won't happen. He's just doing himself and his country harm. He doesn't care about you, or me, or us as two countries that have always worked together. But we are setting up border security to keep American drugs, and weapons, and illegal migrants from coming into Canada. We're going to have to survive by reverting our trade to elsewhere, to depend on ourselves, to boycott U.S. products. We may be nice, but we are also tough. We love our society, our democracy, and our benefits. We won't give that up. Growing up, I lived in South Western Ontario, I used to go back and forth from Canada to the U.S. with no issues. Now, I'm sad to say, I won't ever be going to the U.S. again. Let's all hope for a brighter future for both countries.

As an American I'd like to say, I didn't vote for this, please don't hate us.. and can I please come live with you guys?? I can't afford a passport cause I'm not a wealthy American, but I'm hard working and I'm polite... Please

I'm an American that loves you, Canada. I want this madness to end and I want our relationship to mend. It might take time, but I hope it at least happens in my lifetime

I'm an American, and I support Canada in doing what they have to do to push back on trump/Republican insanity. I know as a senior on social security that I will be hurt by the push back. I will eat less and drive less, but I don't care -- Canada is doing the right thing.

I'm an American veteran who served for 40 years in the military, and I'm proud I did. But this thing that's in the White House makes me ashamed to be an American. Please don't think real Americans support this ass. It's the slow witted people who only come out of the hills when they want to attack our Capital. We apologize for these people. Please pray for us. It's in God's hands now.

I can't stand Trump. He is hurting us all. As an American, I'm embarrassed. I'm so sorry to Canada and Mexico. This is not my doing. But I stand behind YOU and Not the orange man-baby!

As an American, I'm not sure why Trump is doing this. I can see with Mexico there is a big problem but with Canada I just don't see it. I think Trump may have bit off a little bit more than he can chew.

And just like the great empires Thur out the world's history have fallen America will fall. The sad part is that the American people fell for the scam and did this .

Colombia's President said >>>> Trump, I don't really like travelling to the US, it's a bit boring, but I confess that there are some commendable things. I like going to the black neighbourhoods of Washington, where I saw an entire fight in the US capital between blacks and Latinos with barricades, which seemed like nonsense to me, because they should join together.
\n
\nI confess that I like Walt Whitman and Paul Simon and Noam Chomsky and Miller
\n
\nI confess that Sacco and Vanzetti, who have my blood, are memorable in the history of the USA and I follow them. They were murdered by labor leaders with the electric chair, the fascists who are within the USA as well as within my country
\n
\nI don't like your oil, Trump, you're going to wipe out the human species because of greed. Maybe one day, over a glass of whiskey, which I accept, despite my gastritis, we can talk frankly about this, but it's difficult because you consider me an inferior race and I'm not, nor is any Colombian.
\n
\nSo if you know someone who is stubborn, that's me, period. You can try to carry out a coup with your economic strength and your arrogance, like they did with Allende. But I will die in my law, I resisted torture and I resist you. I don't want slavers next to Colombia, we already had many and we freed ourselves. What I want next to Colombia are lovers of freedom. If you can't accompany me, I'll go elsewhere. Colombia is the heart of the world and you didn't understand that, this is the land of the yellow butterflies, of the beauty of Remedios, but also of the colonels Aureliano Buendía, of which I am one, perhaps the last.
\n
\nYou will kill me, but I will survive in my people, which is before yours, in the Americas. We are peoples of the winds, the mountains, the Caribbean Sea and of freedom.
\n
\nYou don't like our freedom, okay. I don't shake hands with white slavers. I shake hands with the white libertarian heirs of Lincoln and the black and white farm boys of the USA, at whose graves I cried and prayed on a battlefield, which I reached after walking the mountains of Italian Tuscany and after being saved from Covid.
\n
\nThey are the United States and before them I kneel, before no one else.
\n
\nOverthrow me, President, and the Americas and humanity will respond.
\n
\nColombia now stops looking north, looks at the world, our blood comes from the blood of the Caliphate of Cordoba, the civilization of that time, of the Roman Latins of the Mediterranean, the civilization of that time, who founded the republic, democracy in Athens; our blood has the black resistance fighters turned into slaves by you. In Colombia is the first free territory of America, before Washington, of all America, there I take refuge in its African songs.
\n
\nMy land is made up of goldsmiths who worked in the time of the Egyptian pharaohs and of the first artists in the world in Chiribiquete.
\n
\nYou will never rule us. The warrior who rode our lands, shouting freedom, who is called Bolívar, opposes us.
\n
\nOur people are somewhat fearful, somewhat timid, they are naive and kind, loving, but they will know how to win the Panama Canal, which you took from us with violence. Two hundred heroes from all of Latin America lie in Bocas del Toro, today's Panama, formerly Colombia, which you murdered.
\n
\nI raise a flag and as Gaitán said, even if it remains alone, it will continue to be raised with the Latin American dignity that is the dignity of America, which your great-grandfather did not know, and mine did, Mr. President, an immigrant in the USA,
\n
\nYour blockade does not scare me, because Colombia, besides being the country of beauty, is the heart of the world. I know that you love beauty as I do, do not disrespect it and you will give it your sweetness.
\n
\nFROM TODAY ON, COLOMBIA IS OPEN TO THE ENTIRE WORLD, WITH OPEN ARMS, WE ARE BUILDERS OF FREEDOM, LIFE AND HUMANITY.
\n
\nI am informed that you impose a 50% tariff on the fruits of our human labor to enter the United States, and I do the same.
\n
\nLet our people plant corn that was discovered in Colombia and feed the world

You talked around the real issue but call yourself a reporter. \nHere's the real reason:\nVivek Rama made a recent comment that got wyte Americans upset...and now wyte America has a distrust towards Indians and feel like Indians are forgetting their place in the American racial ladder...Also, wyte populations are shrinking around the world. Time to slow down with this immigration. I'm all for it because as an FBA, I mostly see these entitled Indians coming here to the states and they are racist towards me and my ppl. Those kind of ppl need to stay in their homeland...

I'm an American, married to a German, and we live in the Southern USA. We spend over a month each year in Germany and Europe. I will say that when it comes to making friends, Germany is far easier than in the Southern US. People here are closed off and absorbed into their own little world (there are exceptions, of course). I've had some bad experiences in Germany but overall have found the people to friendly and welcoming, especially in the North.
