He can afford the higher costs of everything in both countries that he is initiating. He chose this trade war because he wants to take over Canada. \nWhat is wrong with Americans who thought voting him in AGAIN was a great idea over the common sense & economic stability Kamala Harris offered? He TOLD you he was going to do this. \nYou ppl who voted for him KNEW his past history. You have essentially been taken over by a global entity that doesn’t care about democracy. We are going to manufacture our own weapons to have zero dependency on America. I’m a 53 year old Canadian. I went to college on an athletic scholarship & lived there for 10 years after turned professional in my sport. Why, why, why - with all the problems going on in the world right now to tackle - why would you want to start a trade war with your closest trading partner & most loyal ally? Not to mention that your list of Allies is shrinking daily. This is not going to end well for either of us. \nI just arrived home from a trip to the grocery store - making sure nothing in my cart said “ made in the USA” on it due to the new tariffs that began today. \nThe irony is, many of the states where Trump won by the biggest margin, are the states that are going to get hit the hardest from Canadian retaliation tariffs ( Iowa, Kansas, Nebraska, Indiana, the Dakotas - just to name a few). A lot of farmers in those states are going to be hit extremely hard with the fertilizer tax. After Canada, the next 3 largest Potash producers are Russia, Belarus & China. So , good luck \nWhen the cost of fruit & vegetables skyrocket across the US. Maybe you’ll put a little more thought into your vote 4 years from now.

But the imbalance has to stop.\n\nSame with Mexico, trading balance with Mexico is almost $200 billion in favor of Mexico. The imbalance has to stop. \n\nThe US economy is bleeding by trading with allies and partners, it’s fighting for its financial wellbeing. It is not some bs from the orange man, it is real.\n\nOf course Canada, Mexico, Europe and others want business as usual… and why wouldn’t they? ?

Don't buy Canadian Bacon, Maple Syrup and other Canadian goods. So much misinformation in this video. First off, Trump didn't force Canada to do anything. Canada had the $1B security plan already in place and was going to do this long before Trump came to power. Secondly, more people come in to Canada illegally from the US than the other way around. Also, Canada has a huge issue with these people smuggling US guns in to our country. \n\nThe US needs to secure its borders. Canada has the fewest number of illegals coming in compared to US and Mexico, and also, they all come in from the US. Nobody is swimming across oceans to come in to Canada illegally otherwise.

Lets keep i real. The desire that most immigrants have is homeostasis which is the familiar. All humans do this. Individually indians are usually smart and decent people. Its that same inclusives mentality that keep the government corruption very small which empowers the citizens to make them successful and able to contribute more back into this system. The very nature of hoarding resources for ones family, same culture, etc are the same oppressive situations many of these people left their countries to seek better opportunities. But once given those opportunities and a chance to decide for themselves, a lot of these people use their liberties to create exclusion and hostility toward out groups. The indians do this in a very overt in your face way, the chinese are more polite about it but both have this way of looking out for their own and not being concerned with anyone else. As far as im conerned you should all be split up and dispersered to live in different provinces and cites. I know this isnt realitic but it would save them from what a lot of them are gunna end up be exposed to which is experiences with native born Canadians who are going to very rudly show you what happens when you disrespectf someone in their own home. \n\nThe party is over. And I'm pretty sure that India has a lower rejection rate compared to many other countries. It is the sheer volume of applications that contribute to this. Even 1% rejection on 100k Indian visas is a 1000 rejected visas. While a less populous country may have 10% rejection out of 1000 visas which is 100 rejections. So, in % terms, India fare well despite having higher rejections.\nFiring shots at Kosovo, Cuba and B Faso is a cheap shot and unnecessary to push the point of passport rank. All countries have a right to determine who they allow into their country with lower restrictions. And they are under no obligation to open the gates to anyone. I lived in the Florida Keys and loved it but the bumper stickers that said Yankees go home made me wonder how they felt about Canadians. I was injured at work and was taken to the hospital were work paid the hospital bill but when the nurse said go to the drugstore and buy a bandage they will be cheaper then if I put one on you. That was a rude awaking as to where I was.\nThe next was I was living with a nurse and at the hospital they brought in a person that had no ID on him. He had been in a terrible car accident but with no ID they would not treat him ,so he died. Turned out he was a Doctor from Key West driving to Miami . The hospital staff were in shock they had let one of their own die. In Canada they would operate first and worry about money or insurance later.

It was devastating to see how stressed people were about being hospitalized because they knew how their life finances were going to be wiped out. In Contrast Canadian patients only need to concentrate on being well again. \nWomens rights are being rapidly eroded in America. Childbirth is covered in Canada,abortions are legal and women get 1 year of paid maternity leave.\nOur children don’t have to participate in active shooter drills because of our tight gun laws. Our taxes are higher but the social networks are covered by these taxes. \nThe Canadian way of life is generally ,slower and ,I find, more accepting of immigrants, LGBTQ folks, and marginalized people.\nPersonally I moved back to Canada because I missed the change of seasons and the slower pace. We are not satisfied with the hk pathway policy, why can they enjoy the same benefits as our locals ? \nIn the past, people who applied to become a PR had to wait at least two or three years. During this period, they had to pay international student fees and then transfer to a work permit step by step, or join the investing immigration program, and then start to enjoy the benefits after becoming a PR. However, as soon as the hk pathyway people landed, they enjoyed the same benefits immediately as the locals(liked free education, local student fee for university, Child care benefits) which the locals felt were unfair. The days they (hk pathway people)contributed in Canada are very short, and the benefits they receive are far greater than the taxes and contributions they pay. The locals just feel that the benefits they enjoy today are indeed the contributions they have made to society (including paying taxes) over the years. It is reasonable to get a reward for how much they have paid and contributed, but it is unfair for those Hk pathway people to enjoy the same benefits as locals. \n\nThe hk pathway temporarily policy need to be amended. They shouldn’t receiving full benefits as locals while waiting for PR, they should pay the international student fees. Also, too many hk people abuse this policy, use fake academic qualifications to study, and then their whole family receives CCB , also enjoy local students is unfair to our locals.
