You guys been mixed from the very beginning, what does it matter to you that others want to go to America too? Why does the colour of their skin matter to you? Do you really believe that all your ancestors who came to America from different countries didn’t bring their culture with them? And don’t you think that all these different cultures shaped America into what it is today? I am not American, and I would never leave my country for America. As an outsider, it feels strange to watch Americans portray other people—who want to immigrate to the country just like your own ancestors did—as inferior. In my eyes, you are exactly the same, no one is better than the other. It surprises me that a country like America shows hostility toward others who, just like them, are immigrants. And then you go to a other country with that very same mindset. No matter if Canada or America, remember that your not a native, so why judge people so hard, for trying to do the same thing like you did. You are not a native either.

As an American Donald Trump was a mistake. It's time for the American people to wake up and admit their mistakes. An inflated ego is not good. My fellow American we don't want a president with an inflated ego, who will never admit his mistake. People will definitely die because of this fool of a man. Imagine 5 years or 4 years of this. I can go on for many paragraphs but what's the point since I firmly know that my point will be proven in less than a year. Don't forget the employment rate keeps rising, inflation is rising. No wages increase for the citizens of the country. Medical and Medicaid will be cut as well as social security. Mass layoffs, it's also not easy to get a new job. Well I think we will have to migrate to other countries but that will not help. The only solution is to have him removed from the oval office.

This election wasn't about republicans or democrats or independents. This election was about humanity and global security. American's ignored the writing on the wall for their own singular wants/opinions. They stand with their Trump flags but only a few of them can actually explain any accurate information about his policy or legal issues and they condone his behavior. The majority of Trumpers claim to be 'Christians'. Christians voting for a man who is a bully, abuser, liar, predator, monger of power, impedes freedom of press and speech and aligns himself with a dictator. He pardoned violent offenders and called them patriotic, spouts false information, obstructs investigations, has numerous felony charges against him and has now made enemies with our allies. Shall I go on? That's not Christian. Even if you aren't Christian...that's not what America stands for. All for what...eggs? Guns? Cheaper groceries? Or because your need for hating a small group of people out weighs global peace. Or is it because you are so short sighted that you can't even see the valuable contribution that non American born people provide this country. Yes, Biden fell asleep at the wheel. I want to move to Canada now. As an American I have never seen anything so stupid than what our president did. I am 1/2 Canadian and shock at what is happening to our friends up north. This was a great speech and I am very impressed with what they will do to help their fellow citizens.

As an American, we don’t want this either. I don’t understand what and why to be honest. All I know was in November 2024 I woke up to the worst feeling I have ever had. First time woke up ashamed and shame and fear to live in the United States. I never in my 60 years thought that hatred hiding behind Christianity would prevail. The speech of Mr Trudeau, the way Canadians have shown solidarity for one another, today it all puts my country, The US, to shame. Since taking office literally not one thing he has done has made sense to me as an American. I can only say how sorry I am for what the country I love is being used to do to you all, especially our closest allies and friends and in particular the people of Canada today. I grew up in Commerce Twp Michigan. I visited Canada regularly and, even as crime from Detroit poured across the border into Canada, Canadians always treated us with respect and welcome. I never imagined that would stop but now I find it hard to imagine how it might continue and it breaks my heart.

Even the greatest professional boxers know the difference of being humble and kind when there advisory is in trouble. \nFor the first time in the history of your country you have a bully, narcissist and pathological liar, who is vulgar and unpolished as a man, father and as the President of your nation.\nI have seen our own Canadian leaders, make mistakes, stumble and fail, however they displayed grace and admitted to their shortcomings.\nI have never seen a world leader be obsessed with things such as plastic straws, pennies, flushing toilets, Hannibal Lecter, Arnold Palmer's manhood, a leader who's completely obsessed with selling souvenir and bubbles while his citizens are homeless, hungry, jobless, with runaway inflation so that something as simple as a dozen eggs are now a luxury item. \n\nYou have a president who spends millions of dollars so that he can play golf at one of his own properties, meanwhile his country is neglected. \nA brief look at his past record the pandemic under his watchful eye would have you drink bleach as a cure as many died and billionaires increased their combined wealth by trillions of dollars while the middle class and poor suffered. \nThe opioid crisis was settled under his watch which let Purdue Pharma and the Sackler family avoid jail time for committing the death and destruction of millions of lives in America. Yet Donald Trump is obsessed with the drug cartels in other countries yet he overlooks those terrorist in his own country. Americans obviously didn’t understand what tariffs are, didn’t get that it’s an import tax which they must pay on goods and products they buy from Canada, a tax which tRump collects from Americans and uses to pay for tax-cuts for the richest citizens. But one more thing Americans don’t get is that before this fateful day an unofficial boycott against ALL US goods has been growing since tRump insulted Canada’s Prime Minister and threatened Canada’s sovereignty—whereas Canada’s official countervails ( which only kicked-in today )only target certain US goods, not ALL of them like ordinary Canadians are doing in growing numbers right now—in fact, the imposition of tRump’s tariffs today has only made the unofficial boycott bigger and more organized. It’s heartening that so many nations have solicited Canada, offering alternative sources for common US exports to Canada —citrus fruits, pharmaceuticals, and other manufactures, to name a few.\n\nI don’t think Canadians even realize how big this unofficial boycott is getting because it’s growing so fast. I’ve never seen a surge in Canadian patriotism like this. Never in my seven decades —which includes the two Referenda on Quebec separation. And there’s a federal election approaching when all partisans will be one-upping each other in the patriotism department—which manifests in more boycotts of US goods and hospitality services.\n\n Americans should know that the unofficial boycott is more harmful to US exporters than the official targeted countervails because it features immediate and longterm diminishment of Canadian purchases of US goods—all retailers know it’s very hard to recover lost customers once they’ve found alternatives (and the added patriotic effect only makes it worse). Included is diminishment of Canadian visits to the USA. Indeed, the internet is replete with testimonies of Canadian”snow birds” not only forgoing their annual sojourn in the Florida or Arizona sunshine but also of selling their properties there with the parting shot, “I will never vacation in the US again!” Already Mexico has seen its visits from Canadians (who have had a modest presence in Mexico for years) surge to unprecedented levels. I know from much-welcomed temp Mexican construction workers in BC (where I live) that they view Canadians completely differently from our mutual US neighbours—and now that affection is growing like never before. \n\nI’m continually amazed at how uninformed Americans are about tariffs—and misinformed by tRump and his goofy, preposterous, and ridiculous fantasy of world-domination. When tRump uses the lame excuse to implement emergency powers —that Canada is “allowing” (as Vance puts it) fentanyl to “pour into the USA”—it’s tantamount to saying Ukraine started the war with Russia. I am embarrassed as an American. Trump and his cronies have falsely promised their constituents that he is for the people. NO he never was FOR the people, he is for himself. As an American citizen who has seen through all of Trump's lies, abuses, and racism since the 1980s, I am sadly amazed that so many of my fellow citizens have bought into his transparent disregard for our nation, it's people, and the world at large. Trump has created a rift of division unparalleled in our history. At the same time, the world at large has never seemed more united. Until this dark era passes and my nation returns, I will take strength in being a citizen of the world.

I know it's not all Americans and my heart aches for them, but the relationship is permanently damaged beyond repair.
